I had lunch for the first time there last week and honestly it was one of the best lunches I've had in a while. I had the beer battered fish and chips with seasoned french fries. A week later and I'm still talking about it! Great food, great service and an excellent view of Eastern State Penitentiary! Highly recommend!

We were a party of seven doing the "Bite & Fright" Terror Behind the Walls combo. Also, celebrating a friends bday. Our server, Stuart, was great! Attentive, seasoned, even put a candle on the bday friend's slice of cake! (Without being asked!)
The food was yummy as well! The chicken wings & pulled pork apps were amazing. And the chicken breast with macaroni & bacon absolutely mouth watering. We all left satisfied!!
What an amazing place! We stumbled across this restaurant and were so glad we did. Our waiter was awesome! Gave wonderful recommendations on food which we took him up on and were so glad we did. We explained that we were from out of town and he gave us a great history of the penitentiary as well as the firehouse. I would highly recommend this place!
Great food, the staff are very nice. the venue is spot on. You get a touch of class here which blew be away. I cant wait to come back.

I was with a group of 4 for Terror Behind the Walls Fright and Bite package. You choose from a limited menu and there were some specialty drinks. Everything was amazing! The drinks were delicious and the food was outstanding! The service was great and everyone was very pleasant and wonderful. The building was fun and interesting but the food was to die for! We will definitely make reservations to return!!!
We have eaten there twice and both times the food was excellent, I would highly recommend Jack's Firehouse if your in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia
One of the best burger 🍔 ever! Service was on point.
Food was Fabulous & Service was Fantastic. Definitely will recommend this place to all I know will be visiting the area. 2nd time visiting this Restaurant.
Great atmosphere, awesome food and even better staff!! We had a little issue with a wrong order and they fixed it immediately. They kept apologizing and offered us a free round of drinks! We didn’t accept because it’s seriously wasn’t that big of a deal.
Me & a couple of co-workers did the tour at the Eastern State Penitentiary after we were done we were starving seen Jack's Firehouse across the street decided do grab some lunch. I ordered there Fire House Bloody Mary & they were so delicious I ordered 4 more & felt great when I left. I ordered the crab cake sandwich with hot lava & we also got complimentary biscuits & corn bread. The crab cake sandwich was good with some nice amount of heat & the biscuits & corn bread were fantastic.
Stopped here for drinks and appetizers. Love the old firestation. We ordered some local craft beers. Our table had the fried calamari and the mussels in white wine sauce. Mussels were real clean and had a great flavor.
I tried this place the other night to grab a drink. The service was good and the prices were decent for drinks and snacks. However, what made the restaurant was the decor. I enjoyed the firehouse theme throughout the restaurant. The open air tables in the front added to the ambiance.
The GF's family was in town for Thanksgiving and a few days after the big meal, we decided to venture onto Fairmount Avenue to check out Jack's Firehouse. Set in a 19th century firehouse, it's an expansive and unique space, replete with a rowboat above the bar and wood throughout. Not what I expected at all. We were there on a weekend night and it was pretty bumping around the bar, without being distracting to the diners.
Outstanding little place. Was a walk-in.. Busy little place, but seated right off.
Service was attentive and friendly.
Menu had some interesting things.
Food was very good.. Came out fast.
Prices were very good.
The place was clean and looked very nice.
I would go again if in the area.
It's Good. Went to the Eastern State Penn (it was great). After the tour went across the street to eat . Really nice inside. The service was great and the lunch menu was good. We had a couple of the sandwiches and were very happy. I would recommend it.
My husband & I love Jacks so much we had our wedding there! Food is great, service is excellent & it has one of the best atmospheres. Highly recommended, one of the best restaurants in the city.
We ate outside in the patio last Sunday! food was tasty, service a bit slow! They boast a champagne vinaigrette for one of their salads, but it did not really taste like bubbly, still a pleasant experience!
Best Sunday Brunch. I have been to many places for Sunday brunch in Philly, but this is by far my favorite. The homemade cookies, mimosas, and jelly are especially incredible. Try the frittata!
A very solid restaurant to check out in Fairmount if you’re in the area. We went on a slow Sunday so we got to learn some of the history of the restaurant and how the aesthetics inside play into its history. Overall the food was good and service was excellent. Not the best ribs I’ve ever had but this is a spot I’d be willing to come back to in the future
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Jack's Firehouse. Good vibes and many wonderful food options.
We were shocked at how easy it was to make a reservation and they seated us immediately upon arrival. Our server was nice and patient. The other staff members were just as helpful.
We ordered our appetizers first, brussel sprouts and calamari. Highly recommend the calamari. The jalapeño peppers were a nice touch. The dinner options were wonderful. I chose the crab cakes which were very delicious. The couscous lacked flavor but the vegetables helped to give it a little more flavor.
Overall, would definitely go back again with friends. I would like to try some of their other options to taste the variety.
Phenomenal. My friend group shared plates and EVERY SINGLE ITEM WAS DELICIOUS-Lobster mac and cheese, pear salad with shrimp, chicken and waffles, the grape spread and cornbread, Brussel sprouts, Caesar salad and Po-boy. I have NOTHING negative to say. The food was excellent, our waiter was fantastic, the place was clean, and price point was reasonable. I highly recommend if visiting Philly
The food was great, as was the service. And the atmosphere was so cool. A restaurant in a 19th century firehouse? So cool. I definitely recommend checking out this place.
Had a great business meeting here at the bar. I rocked up with my friends to the bar seating and the bar tender was Hella kind and even was slightly intrigued by the business meeting we were having about cleaning up Philly streets with a none profit we are working with💯👏
A Philly favorite we always come back to. Don't be afraid to remind your server for the free cornbread with every meal and cookies with the bill.
Excellent place! The food was great and the service was top notch (can't compliment that enough). Atmosphere was wonderful. The complimentary corn bread and cookie were a fun touch. The doors were open for a really nice breeze. I got the cheese steak and a Jacks Cider... and didn't regret that at all it was perfect for lunch. The only reason they dont get 5 stars is the french fries. The french fries were extra dry and bit burnt. Overall, I definitely recommend. I would go back for sure.
Food was delicious. The BBQ sandwich was very tough meat. It was delicious but was probably tougher then beef jerky. Collards were amazing as well as the pulled pork nachos and complementary cornbread. The server took a while to get to us after eating on a slow night to give us the check.
What a gem. Very pleasant staff and delicious food served hot. I had the portobello mushroom sandwich with provolone, spinach and tomatoes and it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. Nice atmosphere and save room for dessert.
Went there for brunch and was not disappointed. Split 2 entrees and they were kind enough to plate them separately. The French toast was great. Crispy outside and moist inside. The syrup and butter combo was ridik. The crab cake was fresh and that biscuit was gigantic. It didn't look like a lot at first, but by the time you were done eating everything, I felt very full from just the crab bennies. They even started the meal with complimentary corn muffins and ended the meal with small cookies. Great treatment and will definitely be back.
This place will catch you off guard. It’s far better than most would expect. It’s a real historic firehouse made into a bar. This is a generational, family run business by a family who both lives and works in the neighborhood for decades. They often donate to local charities and heavily are involved in the community. The owners college aged son recently broke through as a significant player as the new pinnacle bartender and is serious about perfecting the customer experience and advanced cocktails. Bar is also rower friendly with a historic shell display right above the bar. It gets busy so get their early during peak season or make a resy! I am local to here and was a rower.
