3rd trip in and our 2nd time downstairs for the jazz club, to see the Lynne Riley quartet. The music is a perfect volume. The escargot is good. Cheese plate is nice. The black mussel appetizer is wonderful and well worth it (large portion). The crab/avocado app is light on the crab and avocado and heavy on the lettuce and vinegar. The beef short rib is really good. The salmon and (whatever was under it ) was great! The crepe Suzette for dessert was very good. We normally have good service, but this last time I think she was new and brought out foods at different times for the six of us. Never came back to check on us after she collected the check, even though we wanted coffee. The bartenders are great! We'll keep making the trip; we really enjoy the food, music and atmosphere.
In my opinion one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia and also a premier live music venue. Their food, service, and atmosphere is always top notch.
Excellent all around. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, we shared the chicken liver app, I had the trout and my wife had the salmon. Everything was perfect. Recommended.
Hot Club of Philly is the best! Paris Bistro has great wine and I love the pate!
Always a hit, great ambiance, service and food, Ken is a great bartender. And then there’s the music. Upscale, respectable, never a disappointment.
The best! Best staff, best food, best Jazz, best decor
The food is excellent, bartenders and wait staff are great...I can always tell a great hospitality group by how they treat EVERYONE in the venue - at Paris Bistro the staff is friendly, fun and courteous not only to guests, but to each other and to the musicians...they get it.
The first time I came here, we went to the jazz stage downstairs. That and the cheese platter were amazing! My husband and I came a second time yesterday for our two-year wedding anniversary, and the food was fantastic!! We each got a wine flight of 3 wines, then the boullabaise for dinner. Although one of the priciest meals we have ever gotten, the food and the atmosphere were worth it!
Great jazz, good food, and excellent service! A little pricey, but worth it a couple times per year. Parking in Chestnut Hill can be rough, so arrive early.
Great atmosphere. Visiting the Paris Bistro & Jazz Cafe reminded me of my time living overseas. The small tables, close to the other parties, the specialized menu and the service. It was like a jaunt down memory lane. Our server was very nice but seemed to have to many tables to remember serving us. I often had to flag her down for service. We didn't even get our bread basket. We ordered the mussels as a starter. They were supposed to be saffron and curry sauce but ultimately tasted like garlic and butter sauce. They were good but not what we expected. The mains came out shortly after. I had the trout which was recommended and was full of flavor. My mother had the steak frites. The fried however tasted like they were previously frozen and let down the rest of the plate. All in all I would return to try a few other classic items but it's not making the top list of places to visit anytime soon.
What a great pre Valentine's day dinner with my lovely wife @parisbistrojazz. The food was exquisite and the music was excellent. Really great time. #datenight #food #jazz
Stopped in for lunch while shopping. Decor is stunning. Felt like we'd been transported to Paris France. an order of crepes comes with one large stuffed crepe and small salad. It was the perfect portion for mid day.
Awesome awesome awesome....the waiter Cory was Excellent!! He explained the menu so well and was very attentive plus super friendly, I'd hire him any day. The trout was to die for, so good and the live music topped our great evening off. We will definitely be back!!

this experiene was wonderful. The food was delicious. Everyone truly enjoyed their dish.
Incredible ambiance, great food & service and of course - great Jazz music! Perfect for a date night or special occasion.
Always great food and service. Chef is always thinking outside the box.
Amazing ambiance and delicious coffee and dessert...such a delightful experience!
The best French toast we’ve ever had and neither my husband nor I prefer French toast. So good!!
What a great restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, one of the better meals we've had in a long while. Drinks were good and strong as well. We had reservations for the downstairs area with the live band. Definitely a nice touch and a change from your typical restaurants. The extra fee did not bother us, you're in a private area with live music. If that money goes towards paying for the entertainment then why not! Our waiter was on point, always checked in, gave updates on when food was coming out. Never had a sense of waiting for too long or looking for our waiter. Perhaps the girl who greets the customers could be a tad friendlier but she wasn't rude, so not a big deal. Overall, I highly recommend the restaurant and would definitely come back over and over again for the food itself!
Food, drinks, music, and hospitality were top notch. Will definitely visit again!
The food was delicious, hot and flavorful! Looking forward to going back!
Went there for Brunch on Mother’s Day. Had a table downstairs and really enjoyed the intimate atmosphere and the singer. The buffet offered a nice selection as well. Our servers were attentive and courteous even though the room was filled. Great experience and would love to return for dinner sometime in the future.
First time visit. Nice place. My companions and I enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Two of us ordered the trout (nice portions and quite tasty), the other person ordered scallops. It was a little gritty, otherwise good.
I will go again and stay for the entertainment.
This is a very accessible location in Chestnut Hill, with parking right nearby. The design of the restaurant is pleasing. And for an enclosed space, it really doesn't get that loud. Our party of 5 was seated promptly at our reservation time, although we arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The menu is ample but not overwhelming, and all the food was excellent. Even the normal French staples - like escargot - were prepared very well. There's a lot of places that can't get those right. Our server was pleasant, and the right balance of formal and casual. He was experienced in the menu and helpful as we ordered. Overall I had an excellent time except one thing. The bar tender refused to let us carryover our bar tab to the table. When we quietly questioned the hostess about this, a manager standing nearby actually said it would be ok, but the bartender still didn't do it. Additionally he added a couple extra drinks onto the ticket! I noticed this and asked him to correct it, but I was astounded that he tried to pull a fast one like this. I would undoubtedly return for the food, but just be wary about that one experience.
We sat downstairs in the Jazz Cafe area and the atmosphere was great. Food was excellent, and the Jazz entertainment was well worth the $14 we paid to be seated there. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star was because I did not like the red wine. Of the various types we tried, the House red was the best. Will definitely go there again!
