Our visit here turned out to be a stroke of luck as we managed to avoid the usual rush and snag a table without a wait. The waitress attending to us was incredibly kind, making our visit all the more delightful by offering us complimentary coffee.
Our order consisted of the Lorraine’s cheese omelet
Real old school feel with awesome traditional Jewish deli foods. Amazing staff and overall just a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!!
Fantastic coffee shop, had breakfast on a Saturday morning in December… no wait, great service and a delicious decadent meal… Tuna Reuben was to die for (it’s not on the menu but they’ll make it) and the Nova scrambled eggs was delish. Shared both with my other half. We rolled out with a black and w
Solid sandwich with loads of filling + great pickle, and truly excellent noodle soup. Quiet when we went but it was late week day lunch so the main crowd may have been & gone.
Service was super fast. Definitely recommend for a classic Jewish deli option in Rittenhouse.
Best everything. I am a French toast connoisseur and I’m telling you, it was the best French toast I’ve ever had. I ate an entire box of the rugelach and cookies and finished the whole thing in one night- Just went back to get more today. OH and last but not least the blintzes were truly out of this
Was here 4 years ago, couldn’t wait for my next visit to Philly. This place is great. Yea, it’s pricy but it’s worth every penny. Arlene Ruben is where it’s at!
Been here in Philly for three days. I wish I discovered this place on day one. We had an excellent breakfast which included Blintzes and Potato Pancakes.
The food was eaten before I could take pictures.
You will not be disappointed.
THE best whitefish salad ever. I'll be back anytime in in Philly 😊
Yum! I love this deli. The food and the people create a very homey and unique neighborhood feel. Definitely a must try!
I came in and picked up what I thought was three orders of brisket on potato pancakes for a special holiday dinner.
it was nothing that I recognized as beef brisket nor was the gravy the typical gravy of beef brisket
It was a totally different cut of meat (bottom round) -not what I paid for or what
The restaurant is suffering the understaffed situation; not enough waitress/waiters. The service is okay. A glass of water without giving me straws; a bowel of soup without giving me a spoon. The food is great though. We've tried the Matzo Ball Soup and the Mr. Schlesinger’s Special Sandwiches with
We have loved this little gem for many years. You can always count on getting a good solid meal for a fair price, and they have a pickle bar! Prepare to be amazed!
Update March, 2023
On a recent trip to "town" we stopped by our old favorite, but alas, it is a shadow of its former self. Covid chang
The pastrami was a little tougher than I like it. I will say it was very lean cut of beef and was very tasty. Servers were fast and friendly making it a very pleasant dining experience.
Schlesinger's is more than a typical Delicatessen. How so!? Because it has a rich history as well as the quality of their food. When I visit here, I feel as though I am back in Brooklyn; the food brings me back to my childhood of spending the weekends with my Nana and grandparents. So for me, it is
Wonderful Jewish deli offering delicious food and efficient service. Highly recommend.
The quintessential Jewish delicatessen. A wide selection of breakfast lunch and dinner items. A complementary pickle bar has a wide assortment of pickles as well as cucumbers and hot peppers. The matzo ball soup was excellent and the matzoh ball was about the size of a baseball. There was plenty of
Overall great experience! First time in Philly and we were recommended by our hotel to go to Schlesinger’s. Did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.
