This is an amazing general store with a big variety for a small space. So happy to stumble into it.
They have chocolates, cheese, breads, teas, coffees, souvenirs, kitchen ware, drink fridge, glassware, gift baskets, honeys, jams, fruit butter, I was constantly amazed by how much they had. All the food is locally made and sourced which is always amazing to hear. I left with more than I dreamed of when I first walked by.
A very nice shopping experience. Teas, bakery, cheese, syrup, pickles, all things pennsylvania and more. Oh, and did I say delicious candies? 😋
And exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable service.
I worked with Ellen on a large order for a corporate event. I ordered 100 of the Paul Carpenter LOVE t-shirts for my team. Ellen gave me an ordering deadline for the t-shirts and worked with me as I had a few changes before the final day. She even arranged to have the t-shirts dropped off at a local Philly hotel the day before the meeting. The delivery charge was nominal and much less than I would’ve paid for shipping. The t-shirts were butter soft and were a huge hit with my team.
It was important for me to work with local vendors since I was having my meeting in Philadelphia. The PA General Store is a great resource for all things Philly and the customer service is exceptional!
I just placed an order with Kristin Ross out of the Elkins Park location. Very pleasant & nice. I’ve ordered through them before. I highly recommend ordering from them when you’re shipping out to the West Coast.

Ordered their Philadelphia Picnic Party gift box for 2 different people, one for my side of the family and one for my husband's side, within a week of one another. Shipping & delivery was quick - both had their gift box in 48 hours from order time to delivery! And both absolutely loved their box of goodies!

I found the company on line. I needed help placing an order for my kids who relocated to California. Spoke to Asheley Williams to help place the order. She was an absolute delight! She offered helpful suggestions to insure the packages arrived on time and in good shape. They did and all that was left was the fur ball that was Christmas morning as the kid fought over who got the butter scotch krimpets! What a refreshing change to get actual service from customer service. I will not hesitate to buy from this company again, but next time just for me. :)
I was a recipient of a gift basket from PA General Store. It was very well done! Everything was fresh. Other Philly area people I worked with loved the TastyKakes. This is a great gift idea.
I love the PA General store! They have a great selection and their value is outstanding. We have ordered from other stores for gift baskets previously but no longer. Their products are consistently better and I love that they are a real family business in PA and not some corporate machine that does not care about their customers. If you love yummy goodies and supporting small businesses, order from them, you won’t go wrong! We are buying cookie tins from them for all our clients.
Great selection of local pantry items(jams, syrup, spices, etc) and souvenir type items(t-shirts, magnets, shot glasses, etc). There was also fresh cookies that were very delicious! Love this place! One of our favorites in RTM.
I stopped by the shop at the end of the day and saw the cookies were $1 each. I had already bought a bunch of other $1 marked down cookies from another store in the market, but I decided to try their Resses Pieces cookie. It was amazing. So much better than I could ever could have hoped for. Highly, highly recommended for any cookie lovers. Buy extra.
I also had some of the best customer service I had ever experienced. My 2 year old dropped his chocolate chip cookie from the other store on the floor and they insisted on giving me a new cookie, even after I had explained that that cookie was not bought at their store. It was delicious. Definitely tastier than the original (dropped) cookie. ❤❤❤
I placed a order today( first time) and spoke with Ashley, when I say, she was the most patient and pleasant young lady to work with!!! My Customer service experience with Ashley was💯percent!!! I even had to call back with a quick change and I apologize for not remembering the young man who handled my call and questions but let’s just say he was equally as pleasant!!!! Great experience!!!!
Had a basket overnighted to friends in Florida and it arrived by 1030 this AM and it looked WONDERFUL! The woman who took our order was very friendly and helpful ! We also had Old Fashioned mustard chow-chow shipped to us in June. No problems and it tasted great! Thank you so much. You are definitely our top choice for sending gifts !
We were on a deadline for a special birthday gift. The pre-set packages were not quite what we were looking for.
We phoned and Ashley W. was so extremely helpful in us customizing our gift. She was especially patient since our computer was nauseatingly slow. This meant that processing the order was frustrating and time consuming.
She hung-in there! We are confident we made a good choice for the gift!
The one thing I will always pay for is great customer service. There was a minor glitch in my order & they IMMEDIATELY corrected the issue, sent out the correct item & there was no extra charge. A+ - They have earned a customer for life. I highly recommend them. I will have a VERY happy cousin in Alaska who will get a huge box of tasty cakes from Pennsylvania. Nothing like bring home to family who is far away.
