Beck's is my favorite place...I love it so much. The food is amazing and brings a breath of fresh to Philadelphia cuisine. The specials are always on point and never disappoint. Essential spot for all foodies..the gator gumbo over jumbalaya is my favorite:)

First of all. Idk who's Grandma you're hiding back there, because I had the bread pudding with the vanilla sauce.... My God. If I would've died right after that. It would've been perfect. I recommend everything on the menu.

Incredible food and service, Margaret suggested the trainwreck and it was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Classy establishment. Amazing servers.

The Trainwreck is literally the best sandwich ever! We travel about an hour just for lunch here and I get one sandwich for there and one to go!

Beck's is THE best stop in the Reading Terminal Market. Try the Trainwreck sandwich. It truly is a mix of Philly and New Orleans. Their customer service is exceptional. If my husband was left to his own devices, this is the only place he would have ordered from our entire trip.

The food and service is great!!! I'm hooked on the Train Wreck - Andouille sausage, steak, salami, and onions served on a french baguette with cheese and creole mayo. I also had the Gator Gumbo, which was delicious as well.

We used to eat at diNics. Haven't been there since we sampled Becks gator gumbo years ago!!

Great Cajun food in the heart of Philadelphia. Beck's brought N'awlins to "the city of brotherly love". I will always come back to this place! Highly recommended.

I saw Cafe Du Monde and envisioned slow dripped coffee onto sweetened condensed milk. That wasn't the case, they put it in the Bunn coffee pot and served it in a paper cup, still good. I was bummed Beignets weren't served on Saturday so I opted for something I never had. I chose the Bourbon Street Breakfast(BSB). It was described as red beans, an egg, served with rice, sausage and fried corn bread. It came out as a bowl which I didn't expect. I was intimidated, so I took a sip of coffee and snapped a few pictures to kill some time. I pulled out the spoon and it had 3 grains of rice and mostly beans. The first taste made me regret my choice and I peered enviously at the mac'n'cheese everyone else was getting. I don't waste food, so I stabbed into the egg that was sitting on top and the yolk broke free of the egg whites, onto my spoon and into the rest of the bowl. I shoved it in my mouth and was pleasantly surprised. I don't know what happened in between, though I remember pinching the cornbread out of the way, but my stomach was hurting and my plastic white spoon was scraping the bottom of the black plastic bowl. It was so good that I apparently inhaled it and traumatized my stomach walls that tried to adjust to the rapid expansion. Then I noticed I haven't even touched the cornbread. So I stabbed and crumbled it up, wiping it into the lines of red beans left by my scraping. The cornbread was good, but it was about the combination of getting beans, eggs, sausage and rice onto each and every spoon. I want to return and want to try more, whether it is a Po Boy, mac'n'cheese or another BSB Bowl.

We were walking through Reading Terminal and noticed two seats were available at the bar. We weren't really hungry but wanted to share something different. We ordered the Beck's Cajun Cafe Gator Gumbo and White Rice for $9.95 with a side of the Mini Cornbread Loaf for $2.00. The Gumbo was so flavorful and the right amount of heat. Our waitress was really sweet. Service was fast. They were getting people in and out. Opposite where we were there was a line and that was for ordering to go. Beck's was bustling, however the staff was composed and got the people what they came for. It was great to see all the action and partake in a delicious lunch.

It's been quite some time since I had good Cajun Food, so was really excited when I saw this place inside the Reading Terminal Market. I got some Shrimp Etouffe and Alligator Gumbo. Both of them tasted quite good but definitely less spicy.

Visiting Philly for the week and got a blackened catfish po boy and sides for lunch from here! Prices are really affordable and the po boys definitely hit the spot. No matter what you order as your main dish, I recommend getting the cajun fries. They are great by themselves but I think it goes really well with any sandwich/meat. Fried Mac and cheese was really tasty as well. If I visit next time, I would try their options to add gumbo or bacon on it to enhance the experience too.

Food was delicious and the service was excellent. The Mac and cheese balls to me weren't the best I've had, but okay. The have a seating area around thier kitchen which is great. You can see them freshly prepare your food.

Becks brings the heart of New Orleans cooking to Philadelphia, offering a unique twist on southern dishes with no rules to follow. Similar to the best street food in the city, Becks has its own identity and doesn't try to be anything else. I can't say enough about how amazing it is. If you're visiting Philadelphia for the first time, make sure to stop by Becks and ask for Mike. His friendly and attentive service is unparalleled, and he'll make you feel like part of his own family every time you sit down at his counter. In all of Philadelphia, there's no better service than what you'll find at Becks. Come down, see Beck's, meet Mike, and have a great time with some incredible people and food to match.

GREAT Shrimp Po Boy and Cajun Fries. The Po Boy was incredible. Shrimp fried perfectly, FRESH lettuce, tomato, pickle and creole mayo on a great baguette. Seriously awesome. Then the cajun fries … crispy french fries with jalapeño peppers and sweated onions. And the dipping sauce is no joke. Counter seating or take out. I sat at the counter, good service and plenty of hot sauce available. Would definitely do again … as their other stuff looked great too. Jambalaya, muffaletta, etouffee, bread pudding etc. Really good stuff and they give a 10% discount if you're on jury duty! (If u ask)

Obviously busy, the line moves. Service is pretty solid, I’ll give it a 9/10. Food was good. I didn’t get any sauce so overall I’ll have 7/7.5 out of 10. The fried Mac balls are a 10! Can’t beat that! Po boy was fresh! Bread was soft!

This place was so good! The alligator gumbo was delicious, just the right amount of spice.. and you can't beat real southern sweet tea. I also got bread pudding which was very good- great texture, sweet but not overwhelmingly so, warm and perfect. I would definitely come here again!

As someone who has vacationed in New Orleans; stopping in at Beck’s was a taste of the Big Easy. The chicken and sausage gumbo breakfast bowl with an egg and cornbread was amazing. And the beignets were perfectly warm and sweet and doughy. The employees were energetic even though the Reading Terminal Market was just opening up as we got there.

Awesome place to eat. Food is very fresh and cooked to order. It is real Cajun food just in Philadelphia. Sitting at the counter to eat is nice, and you can see the hard work done and the fresh ingredients and watch them prep all the food. Only the best chicken breast with white meat is used, homemade macaroni, they slice their own meats. Sweet tea was great. Catfish and shrimp were great, wish they had butter or honey for the cornbread.

Decided to visit Philly for the day and my husband and I we on the search for a cheese steak sense this was my first time in the city. Walking through the market we decided the cheese steak can wait we needed to try Beck’s. Soooooooo glad we did. We ended up getting take out and drove the three hours home and we were not disappointed. Will definitely be making more trips for the food. Still so much on the menu we want to try.

Stopped here for the food. Very popular, and there is a clear reason. Food is awesome, service is efficient and charming. Great attention to detail even though it was really busy. Had the fried shrimp po boy and a side on Jambalaya. Sorry, but had to have the flavors. Glad to say, Not a disappointment at all!!!

I don't know if we just ordered well or what but everything was perfect. The fried oysters were crispy and cooked just right in the center. I can't remember ever having better red beans and rice. My wife said the French toast was made with an amazing brioche soaked just right with a nice balance of pecans, cinnamon and syrup.

I didn't get to eat head because I wanted beignets and they were out. I did drink a almost $4 lemonade though. The staff is nice. I uploaded pics of the menu.
