Lovely, traditional family restaurant in the heart of East Passyunk with classic delicious foods and desserts. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. The owner is a delight... very personable and proud of the restaurant's heritage. I was allowed to see the original brick pizza oven built by the owner's father. I totally recommend a visit! First time at Marra's. They managed to squeeze us in without having a reservation. Food and service were very good. Everyone in our party was very pleased with their dinners. Will definitely go again.
I got Alla Penne Ala Vodka, Magherita Pizza, Alla Bianca Pizza.
The pasta was good, I love it. The pizza is big, the "personal size" is enough for 3 of us.
Don't get to go here because of distance but this place is a South Philly gem. Started with clams casino, calamari, and stuffed mushrooms with crab. All three were unbelievably tasty, shared with the whole table. Make sure to get bread to dip in the clam sauce. Followed these appetizers with a pepperoni pizza, white pizza with spinach and shrimp marinara. The pepperoni pizza is so delicious,same goes for the white pizza. They cooked both just right so that the crust was crispy and cheese was just right and not burned. The shrimp marinara dish portion was generous and could possibly be shared between diners. Old world atmosphere and fantastic service by our friends at Marras. In the heart of Philadelphia, there is not a better place for Italian cuisine.

Let me start off by saying that this review is only about the pizza. In 30 yrs of coming here, I've never tried anything else on the menu. I'm also NOT a pizza guy. I'll eat it in a pinch, but rarely ever go out of my way to grab a pie. Marra's is an exception! I enjoy eating this pizza! The secret is in the crust. It's light, it's crispy and it's flavorful! If you like those soft, doughy crusts that have no character or taste, this isn't for you! The toppings are also fresh and flavorful with everything coming together. It's also the best pie I've ever had for reheating in a toaster oven. Just as crispy and flavorful a couple days later as it was the first. Arguably the best pie place in South Philly and one of my 3 all time favorites. The dining area has a cozy, old school restaurant feel that you rarely find anywhere else these days. So why only 4 stars instead of 5? It's the price. Mara's was always a little more than other pizzerias, but these days they're about $11 more than my all time favorite, Tony's Place. But if you're in South Philadelphia and have the taste pizza, you owe it to yourself to try Marra's. It might just redefine what you think pizza is supposed to taste like.
Good Pizza. The seating was a little cramped though. I came with a group of 4 people so space was kinda tight. The pizza was excellent however.
One of the best places in the city, the pizza is delicious! They have the good sausage, too. I've been coming here for over 35 years and never had a bad experience. Very much old school italian vibe that you will love and I promise you will love the food.
Pizza is good, mussels are good, service is good, prices are very reasonable. This is old school, not trendy or slick. There will be plastic cups and the woodwork is dark but this has been a great family tradition for decades and we have never been disappointed.
Haven’t been here in 30 years. Just like I remember! Everyone was so friendly from the hostess to our waiter. Didn’t get his name but he was wonderful. Food was excellent. Won’t wait anothe 30 years to go back!
The food was amazing! We got chicken parm, veal parm, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Alfredo, buffalo chicken pizza, and Cesar salad and everything was amazing! The service was so quick and the staff was amazing!
Absolutely Great Pizza. Outstanding. Been to this place as far back as the 70’s. Staff is very friendly and attentive.
Love the family own small business aspect of it.the bolagnese was great, very tasty, the pizza was alright and the bread not so good. Overall a great place too eat, however, I think that the family own is a double edge sword, the owners should focus on the business and the kitchen, not on waiting tables, because the lady there is kind of bad at it, they should hire people that do that for them.
Classic red sauce Italian. Their pizza is outstanding, as was the chicken parm. If you want old school Italian, this place has it in spades.
We were in the city today and I had made a booking for our party a few days earlier. Honestly, I was a little concerned with some of the reviews, but as soon as we arrived, those were put to rest. They had our table almost ready (we were early) and the experience, food and service was warm and pleasing. Our server (the dark haired girl, apologies for forgetting her name) was efficient and great natured with our ten top.
