If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I absolutely loved it! The food, the ambiance, our server, Huy, was so knowledgeable and attentive. We got the wings which were excellent, the shrimp and mushroom pho and the papaya salad. Every single item tasted of careful preparation. It's an intimate space and I will be returning!
FANTASTIC time here sitting at the bar. Huy the bartender is fabulous. He made some really good suggestions for food and drinks based on our preferences-- and you can tell he's passionate about the menu beyond the banh mi and bottles!
We ordered the tamarind tofu banh mi, tofu bún, vegetarian bao, and vegetarian spring rolls. Only my roommate is vegetarian, but as someone that is NOT plant-based I thought the food was really well balanced and thoughtful. They use a lot of marinated mushrooms and season/cook the tofu well, so it doesn't feel like a cop-out or an afterthought. Plus, you can't go wrong with delicious SAUCE for everything! Definitely coult have had a little more heat in some areas, but we didn't miss it so much to feel the need to ask for extra peppers to be brought out. All of our drinks were fantastic: rum forest rum, khaleesi means queen, house sangria, and a lychee martini.
I believe the owner of the resturant brought us our food, too! The hosts and bartender were super attentive and welcoming. The bar seats were comfortable and I had plenty of space during a Thursday happy hour (which is from 4 PM to 7 PM!) I can't wait to go back!
Best restaurant we had during our trip in Philly! Staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. We loved it so much that we came back the following day. Thank you so much for helping making our trip a wonderful experience. Greetings from Montreal✌️!
Absolutely Wonderful and Delicious Restaurant!! Great Service. FOOD TO DIE FOR. especially the Vietnamese Coffee O.M.GGGGG, only bad thing I would have to say is that our table had loose screws and was rocky but that's an easy fix. If you're ever on South Street and hungry, RUN here!
Just became one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants! Not only the food but also because of the vibe, very calm, intimate and welcoming!
We ordered the beef ribs, viet Cajun and Obama vermicelli bowl. Omg, let me tell you, they are so good that we ordered a side of rice to mix it with the sauce because we didn’t wanna waste the sauce.
The service was attentive, which you don’t see in many restaurants nowadays. However, we didn’t like either of our drinks - too sugary and too much ice.
I’ll definitely keep coming back!
Casual Vietnamese place with a Bar. Was just walking by, en route to another restaurant, and we decided to give it a try. The food was really flavorful and well prepared: unexpectedly delicious. Excellent beer and cider. Would like to support it as South Street east of broad is a little beat, nowadays: will definitely go back.
This place is kind of a sleeper hit! I hadn't heard of Banh Mi and Bottles before, but it is really incredible. The pork belly old fashioned ("Yes Chef") was delicious and very smooth. We also got the Pho with ribeye and bone marrow, and the ribs with crispy rice. Both were incredible. It seems safe to say you can't go wrong here. I really want to try the banh mi and lotus fries next time!
Service was also very good and the atmosphere and decor was awesome. Not to mention they have a couple of mocktails as well if that's more your speed. Highly recommend!
Great food, tasty cocktails, and cool vibes--what's not to love! First enjoyed some things from the happy hour menu: lychee sangria, beef bao buns, traditional summer rolls, and papaya salad--all of which were yummy and good portions to share between 3 of us. Finished with some more drinks, pork belly Bahn mis with fries, a B&B salad and side of garlic veggies. Would order everything we had again!
Was pretty quiet at about 6pm on a Monday night with just a few tables taken and a couple at the bar.
Will be back with more friends!
Visiting from out of town and came in for a solo dinner at the bar on a random Tuesday. James was so helpful and suggested the special cocktail of the night- a tequila sunrise with passionfruit and egg white. Sooo delicious. He was also very gracious when I mistakenly ordered the garlic noodles without checking if they were gluten free and quickly helped me choose something else even after the dish had arrived. The chicken vermicelli noodles were really delicious and the perfect amount of food. 10/10 service, vibe and food
