I googled african restaurants near me, I read the reviews and drove straight to Nafisa's. I had their fried fish plater. Let me tell you this meal surpassed my expectations..It was so delicious on top of that the owners are so inviting and kind made feel at home.. I sat in, ate and danced the entire time while I enjoyed my meal. Great music also. Nafisa's is a Must !

I visited Nafisa's Kitchen tonight as I was meeting a girlfriend for dinner and wanted to try West African food. The owner, Nafisa, hails from Liberia. Her pineapple habanero shrimp and fried tilapia were divine! The shrimp was tender and not overcooked. It had the perfect balance of sweetness with a kick. The tilapia had a crispy, tasty skin overlying a buttery, flaky fish. They were both accompanied by a flavorful, aromatic fried rice and sweet plantains. Nafisa and her daughter, Kluboh, were welcoming and pleasant. Kluboh made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I imagine this is what it's like to be welcomed into the home of your Liberian Auntie for dinner. I live almost 20 miles away, but the food is definitely worth the drive into the city.

Wow!! So incredibly good! I read a bunch of reviews and patiently waited until they opened at 12PM. I was probably one of the first to call and order but I was so eager to try the food. I ordered two different things: Lamb, plantains, and rice AND pineapple habanero wings and shrimp with rice. EVERYTHING was so tasty! The rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The chicken was fried well done like I asked and the shrimp were perfectly cooked- perfect amount of sauce of them too! My husband loved the rice, chicken and shrimp too! He will be eating the lamb after work (If there is any left ^_^). Also the lamb was great especially with the onions on top! There are bones so be careful but so good! Last but not least, the plantains were also amazing! I took a pic for my snapchat story after I plated it all up-it`s attached here! Check it out! Thanks so much for the good experience and I will be spreading the word to my family and friends that Nafisa's Kitchen is the BEST African food in Philly! Peace and Love!

Friendly service, tasty food and reasonable prices. Enjoyed a large serving of lamb and sauteed onions with rice paired with a side 🥗. Very nice. I'll be back.

I went to Nafisa's to have a great meal with friends from outside of Philadelphia and London. Everyone enjoyed the food. The staff were great! We danced and had a great time. Every time I am in the area I will eat at Nafisa's.

The food is phenomenal, and the service is second to none. The portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable. I visit on every trip to Philadelphia now.

The whole tilapia is so good and a good size. They use the same size cup for the salad dressing as they do the chili sauce... The small cup for the chili sauce i understand because its hot as FIRE. But they need to use a bigger cup for the salad dressing.

My first time trying this restaurant out. Food was yummy, especially the potato greens which I had never heard of before but was highly recommended by another customer who came in to pick her order. It was a good decision to take her opinion because they were delicious. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection with a mound of perfectly sauteed onions on top. My only critique was I did not receive the plantains which were my second side to my entree, and although I missed them the sweet potato fries were plentiful and completed the meal. Will go back to try the whole red snapper and of course get some potato greens
