2016/8/24: walked in, to the overwhelming smell of Smokey pecan wood. New Mexico Enchiladas, green chili pork and cheese. Carne Avovada, smoked pork roast simmered in red chili. Some of the most authentic enchiladas I've ever ate. Courteous, friendly, greeted immediately. Looked up best hours with least wait. Spot on. Recommend.

Richardson's has great food, some very hot, always enough to share or take home half for leftovers ( they are the greatest leftovers!). We've been eating at Richardson's since it opened on Bethany Home Rd. Just remember, it gets busy and unless you are a large party, they don't take reservations, so get there early. Or in between the busy hours ( that's what we do unless we have guests) My husband and I have never had bad service or a bad meal here at Richardson's.

A fine restaurant - unable to understand the negative reviews! Our server was exceedingly capable, helping with the many menu offerings and cocktails. Seated beside a real wood-burning fireplace, our delicious meal was way more than we could eat. As we were preparing to leave, a manager walking by asked if we enjoyed our meal. After we commented on the service and the meal, he said that we'd only partially seen what was available! He then took us on a personal tour on all areas of the restaurant. We'll be in Phoenix for only a week, but we plan to revisit this restaurant several more times!

Aside from the great company, pleasing ambience and tasty Pinot noir, the beef stuffed chili relleno with red and green sauce was excellent! Can’t pick between them and will likely always order both with dishes. Yum! Looking forward to trying more items.

This is my favorite place in town actually. The fish specials are always amazing. My favorite is the Chimayo Chicken guaranteed you have never had anything like it!

Always amazing food, atmosphere, and staff! We wish they were in the east valley, but well worth the drive!

I’m from New Mexico and this food is definitely as good as Mexican food from New Mexico. Service was amazing and food was to die for. The prices are reasonable and you get a big portion for what you pay for. Always a good atmosphere. I went for the enchilada combo with shrimp, chicken and steak. Chile can be a little hott so prepare yourself! Love coming here and will definitely be back for more!

The red and green sauce is very flavorful. The margaritas were as expected, not over sweet, which was nice. Service was friendly and attentive but not over the top. The atmosphere is pleasant and not overcrowded as in the seating and tables had a comfortable amount of space between other guests.

On the higher level of prices. Enjoy the food there is three different restaurants in this area. Rosie's. Richardson's. Rokeru. New Mexico STYLE. So Red and Green Chili's and the food was super Delicious 😋 I could just do Salmon Bites And Beers 🍺🍻 ... There prices are on the crazy 😧 side. But maybe 🤔 people order tomahawk. Definitely a $300 night if you have 4 people.

Haven't been here in many years and decided to drop by with some co-workers as we were in the area. This place has never disappointed me! The atmosphere alone is amazing being private outdoor courtyard. The service was excellent and the food was phenomenal! Very good dishes and portions. It's easy to say this is Tex-Mex at its finest! Highly recommend checking this place out!

***As a native New Mexican & Burqueña 💃🏻*** I can say this is authentic New Mexican food (and this is factual bc I didn’t have to add salt to a single thing I ordered). The lvl 2 green is actually HOT. Made my ears ache but it was delicious. The portions are beyond ridiculous and be aware there is an up-charge for splitting your plate. Twice baked potato for a side is 🙌. The prime rib was the best of everything we ordered. I would not recommend getting apps or side salads only bc there is SO MUCH food that you won’t be able to eat. The patio is gorgeous but recommend sitting inside bc they don’t have misters to keep away flies.

Heard great things about restaurant. Supposedly, very authentic New Mexican food. Probably the closest to New Mexico that we have tried in Arizona, but not quite there. The Chile was not right and not hot enough, but the food was tasty, and the portions were huge. A little bit pricey compared to what you would pay in New Mexico, but not as bad as other Scottsdale restaurants. My wife really enjoyed the margarita. We wishes that they had Pozole, and Sopaipillas. We will try them again.

This place is top notch. The food is absolutely fantastic. I particularly love the bacon wrapped shrimp with four different dipping sauces and the chipotle ribs. Both are served with rice and beans. My friend and I enjoy beer with our happy hour meal, and we're never disappointed. I have a humble income, and I always feel good when I walk away. Just go. You'll see for yourself.

After years and years of contemplating to try this place I finally made that decision today. I do not regret coming in tonight. This place serves New Mexico cuisine AKA New Mexican flare. It definitely has a flare and the smell of firewood was in the air when we walked into the covered courtyard. We loved the fact that they had indoor and outdoor seating. The bar also was on the outside in the courtyard. We were just happy it wasn't hot in the courtyard. We decided to dine outside. We were approached right away and they took our drink orders. Loved that they served chilled water. As we scanned the menu we noticed they had a variety of food. Such as enchiladas, seafood, steak and pasta dishes. We will definitely return because the food was absolutely delicious 😋. A little too expensive when it comes to their steak prices. We didn't expect large portions but we were happy to try their cuisine. There are no freebies here we had to pay $8 for Chips and salsa. We ordered Carne adovada and relleno platter plus chips and salsa. Salsa were definitely different and to be honest I didn't care for it. My husband was glad that he ordered his chili on the side. He enjoyed his enchiladas very much. He liked all the spices and flavor of the enchiladas he had. Happy eating 😋.

Love this restaurant for its amazing food and seafood specials. The portions are large and the quality of the meals is outstanding. I love their covered patio dining area with the space heaters. On this occasion, I had the ruby trout, and it was so delicious. For $34, I got a massive gourmet meal. See the picture I posted. Fresh asparagus and a green chili potato with the trout. All of their appetizers are very good, so be sure to try one or two but save room for your bug meal!!

The most amazing steak ever!! You could cut it with a butter knife …. Sooo tender! We had the NY steak with crabmeat on top absolutely the best steak I have ever eaten! The wait time was long but worth it . We had a large party so I’m not holding it against them . My daughter took us and had recommended this place . It’s her go to for steak . Guess what … it is now my go to place for an excellent steak! It was so good I don’t think I’ll even try anything else on the menu at least for awhile! We will have to check out the desert menu next time….

This was my first time here. The food menu was truly expansive and difficult to choose any one meal to eat. Definitely a restaurant worth returning to for multiple potential options whether it be for Brunch or Dinner menu options. It can be very busy here between 11-2 which is when we arrived, so be prepared to be able to wait a bit if you want a table instead of bar service and come with patience for busy wait staff and service. Come to expect to sit and chat with your guests/company for a while and time will fly. Brunch is served until 4pm which is fantastic. On hot days be sure to dress lightly for a warm dining room (or patio) experience with ceiling fans above you. Both food plates were absolutely full of taste and flavor and well worth the $ spent. Pictures shown: 1. French Toast, eggs, thick bologna slices & 2. Huevos Rancheros with baked beans, sausage, with hash browns beneath the eggs. I wish we had tried the bacon wrapped shrimp 🍤 but ended up not getting to try them on this visit. Next time! Definitely will be back!

Richardson's is perfection! This has been on my bucket list (yup, I'm from Albuquerque!) for ages and finally found the time to visit. I'm so glad that I did. As soon as I entered, I felt like I'd been transported to Santa Fe, Taos, or Chimayo. The décor nails it. The service is exceptional. Our server Keeler was flawless with her delivery. The menu is entrancing. Truly, if I lived closer, this would be my go-to. I love that they have a normal Happy Hour and a reverse Happy Hour. Like spicy? The chipotle ribs are a MUST! Even the rice served with them will set your mouth on fire. And the ribs are so juicy they truly fall off the bone. And a glass of Malbec for $10? Sign me up! I was dazzled by the number of specials that they have, largely consisting of seafood and steaks. Totally a special occasion spot. Northern New Mexico cuisine is quite different from Mexican food, which dominates at most menus in the Valley. Honestly, I don't often order the typical New Mexican dishes that one thinks of. I lean toward the red and green chile options and then find something that I like. You don't have to be a fan of the traditional dishes to find something that will whet your appetite. There is something for everyone. Recommend! Pro Tip: Bring cash to tip the valet.
