This was the Pizza that America's Test Kitchen used and visited to determine how to make pizza that would be excellent. I don't pretend to cook Pizza. Why bother when Lou Malnati's is around?

Good deep dish pizza

The pizza is worth the wait. We had the original sausage deep dish and it was very good. The recommended serving size are underrated so we had plenty of leftovers. The three cheese bread is very good too. Worth a return trip.

Excellent excellent deep dish pizza, served fresh and piping hot. Have the cookie and ice cream for afterwards, you'll be glad you did, trust me

Darn near as good as the original in Chicago. Family style salad is a must. The deep dish Chicago special was buttery, with a fresh tasting tomato sauce and lots of meat and stretchy cheese. The patio was large, lively and the service was top notch. If you Ike deep dish, this is the place in the valley.

Lou Malnati's is famous for their signature Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza Pie. They also offer a full bar, full service restaurant with carry out. Besides deep dish pizza and thin pizzas they also offer pasta, soup, salad, sandwiches and more. The atmosphere is a fun retro kind of decor with interesting fixtures and lots of lights. We got seated right away but it took a long time for someone to take our order. Our waiter apologies and said he didn't know we were here. We ordered and then we waited about 40 minutes for our individual deep dish pizzas to arrive. I had the vegetable pizza called "The Lou." The crust and the pizza were much smaller than I was expecting. The crust on mine was thin and reminded me of crostata dough mixed with pizza dough. I thought the vine-ripened tomatoes and cheese blend were very tasty. The raw tomatoes on top weren't ripe yet. My husband had a Sausage Individual. The sausage is lean and not very flavorful. I didn't like the plates because at first I thought they were dirty but when I examined them closer I saw the finish is coming off of them. This Chicago Style Pizza really was better than I was expecting it to be but I do warn you the Individual size runs smaller than from anywhere else I've been.

I've eaten at Lou Malnati's a couple of times while in Chicago. They have been a staple there since the early seventies and have locations all over the windy city. With the Cub's spring training and the all the Chicago folks that come here, restaurants like Lou's, Portillo's and Genos East are making their way to the Valley. What makes this one special is that it is located in the renovated Uptown Plaza (a landmark 1950s shopping center that is now a hotbed of new restaurants). Lou Malnati's did a lot of preparation and research to try and replicate the chain's signature pizza for their first location outside of Chicago.

The restaurant itself is tucked away in the back corner of Uptown Plaza with lots of room for people to mix and mingle on a grassy area while waiting for a table. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. We actually didn't wait too long for a table. If you are going to order one of their delicious deep dish pizzas, give yourself a good 30 - 45 minutes for them to make it. The flaky, buttery crust is made from scratch and they use fresh mozzarella cheese, vine-ripened tomatoes and a nice blend of sausage. You just can't beat how good Chicago deep dish is and we ended up taking most of it home. I think we are pretty lucky to have a little taste of Chicago here in AZ. It can get a little crowded at times, but the experience makes it worth it.

I ordered delivery to my hotel and was later notified by a delivery service that my order was canceled. I called the restaurant, and they investigated what happened and remedied the situation immediately. My pizza arrived fresh and delicious. I have seriously never had a pizza like it. The toppings are the stars of this pie.

What a great, welcoming , friendly staff who is very eager to help seat you on the beautifully calming terrace. Starting with entering the location to paying the check...Great experience! Sam, our server couldn't have been any more attentive, fun, friendly and so helpful with suggestions not only for food ideas but also serving suggestions. Sam was an amazing professional as well since our drinks, including water, were always kept filled and all his suggestions were flavorful and since we advised him we were traveling, just right portion size. He made this first-timers experience much more enjoyable! Make your way there and hopefully find Sam to be your server !

Pizza doesn't disappoint! Sauce-delicious, crust-delicious, toppings-delicious! Bruschetta appetizer was good too, but the pizza was the star of the show. Very much recommend.

Ask for IN-HOUSE DRIVER when ordering Lou's. Our meal was delivered safely and prompt by Steve who works at Lou's at the uptown location. Steve is the man and takes care of his customers.

Best Chicago style pizza and wings around. Our favorite is the cheese deep dish with butter crust and Buffa-Lou wings. If you order the sausage on your pizza and do not want a sausage patty under your sauce and cheese, make sure to ask for sausage crumbles. Their Italian beef sandwich is also delicious. Service is excellent. We have visited often enough in the last 3 years that we know several servers by name.

I thought my pizza was really close to a Chicago style pizza. The deep dish is not deep like I’m used to in Chi-town but it was pretty good. Crust was flakey and almost buttery.. definitely savory. The sausage was a full patty.. that was different. There was plenty of seating. Cool mirror setup and a great place to seat outside. The atmosphere was friendly. The wait staff was attentive and really on it. It was nice to have my hot pie served onto my plate for me. The beer we tried was very tasty. The papa go orange blossom tasted very citrusy and the flavor hits you quickly. I haven’t seen this as it might not be common but thought it was a great addition to accepting everyone and making everyone comfortable The bathrooms are marked M W and U… see my photos.

First time here and it was top tier. The decor and vibe: plays good relaxing music soft in a good variety mix (not cliche Italian either). The temperature in the room was comfortable. The decor us simple and classy. The lighting is a tad low for my taste though. Service: The staff are polite but not over friendly. Not a pro or a con. This establishment is busy and very popular (Of course. Look at the reviews). This is a "service" kinda place. They serve your salads and pizza on your plates and hand it to you when your food comes out. The buss staff is quick and clear and clean tables fast. Pizza: The thin crust is excellent. The crust is homemade and the sauce is great. The sauce isn't too intense and is a real tomato sauce. This is authentic Chicago pizza at its best. They do not skimp on the cheese. Small selection on topping options. Not good or bad. Sometimes less is more. The ranch dressing is homemade and to die for good. Dessert: individual size pizza cookie was NOT worth the money. It was a very small serving. The middle of the cookie was low and thin. They put a tiny amount of ice cream and whipped cream in the middle with two cherries on top. If you want a pizza cookie, go to Oreganos. Drinks: Nice size drink menu with a bar with a few beers on tap. 10/10 recommend.

Saw the company truck while driving on the freeway and came to check out the "legendary" pizza. Deep dish is the way to go! A small pizza is more than enough for 2 people. The way the deep dish is made is unique and comes out so delicious and very filling! We had a choice to dine outside or inside. The server will serve you your first slice, which was also different. Between 3 people who have big appetites, we had 1 medium and 1 small deep dish with leftovers. Wheelchair accessible with a lot of room to get around. Definitely a pleasant place and comfortable atmosphere. We made a great choice to stop by!

Was in town for the NASCAR championship race and figured we'd stop by for a quick bite before taking off for our return trip to LA. Amazing service and delicious food as always. Special thanks to Nathan Gallegos for mailing our watch back to LA after we left it behind. Can't thank you enough for the amazing service throughout. Huge recommend if you're in the area and craving a taste of Chicago.

The food was delicious. The pizza takes a while because it is made to order, but the pizza was delicious and the appetizers were really good. Our order was mixed up but the manager was kind enough to comp the meal and throw in an extra appetizer and dessert.

Had a large thick crust pizza. Oh my goodness! It was just what we needed! Of course, because of the thick crust the two of us couldn't finish it. Our waitress was super friendly and took good care of us. My friend decided to go with the cannoli for dessert. I don't know how he did it! We'll definitely be coming back here! I really loved the slices of fresh Roma tomatoes on top.

This was our first experience here and I have to say Roger is the best bartender ever! Not only was the pizza fabulous but Roger had a great energy and helped with suggestions. If I could give more than a 10/10 I would. Will be coming back and only coming back when he is working!!!

Awesome indoor/outdoor pizza shop. Direct from Chicago! Food is great. Just a tad hard to find in the corner of an L-shaped line of businesses and eateries. But go! It's great!
