I have been wanting to try this restaurant for quite awhile .....having dined there last night I can't understand Why I waited so long!! The colors painted on the outside alone are an indication of everything you might expect from an incredible place.... inside, gorgeous Frida Kahlo reproductions and every table set with beautiful and traditional colored Authentic Mexican plates(decoration only). The Margaritas paired nicely with the homemade Guacamole. I had the Poblano Mole' it was honestly the Best Mole' I have Ever tasted.... EVER!!! It was paired with whole pinto beans which I normally don't care for as I've always found them bland other than in my own chili!! These were incredibly flavorfully spiced(not hot spicy), and a non traditional white rice dotted with peas. The rice was good but more of it would've been nice. Homemade corn tortillas were shared with my wife who had the same sides and chose the Tinga, a delicate and delicious shredded chicken in tomato chipotle. Normally we skip desert, we splurged and had the Pera Envinada( poached pear in red wine).... omg...,the service was excellent the staff/ owners welcoming and the meal extremely affordable.... we will become regulars....a notch above ALLMexican restaurants.

We're food junkies, home cooks and natives to the valley. We own a sous vide cooker (hahaha). We're always looking for some spectacular food, put together with consistency and passion. We don't get impressed often. Most of what exists, nearly everywhere, is the cliche Americanized Latin mumbo-jumbo turbo produced fare. We may not know much about food, but we are passionate about how humans treat "things". This place puts more emphasis on the food, service and ambience than many places we've visited... anywhere. It's in a correct groove based on the value. It's like drinking really good water when you're thirsty, and only paying a quarter, vs. $2 for some French nonsense or overpriced plastic bottle. You will be impressed. We stayed 60-90 minutes, ate the whole shebang (1 app, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 3 margs, and a shot of Bacanora) tipped 30% and will RUN back to do it again. Best ($100 total) meal for 2 we've had in a LONG time. Yes we've been to the French laundry, and McDonalds, but not to elBulli, they closed.
We enjoyed not only the great service & food was spectacular as well. But the setting & decor was wonderful too. We will return again soon..... would def recommend this place to others.
First time at this restaurant. The staff was super nice and attentive. It is a little pricey but the food was outstanding. While everything had a Mexican flare, Not your typical Mexican menu for dinner. Filet mignon and shrimp was delicious. Very small, quaint, quiet, table cloths , cloth napkins and China. Definitely would recommend this place.
This is my go to Mexican when I come to town... the food is prepared fresh ... from appetizer to dessert I have yet to have a bad meal... the owners are so down to earth...
Outstanding, fresh, traditional, superbly crafted, REAL Mexican food that will not disappoint. Served with pride and knowledge. I honestly can not say enough good things. And... they made us fresh Paloma’s....

Absolutely outstanding food, wonderful atmosphere, the most friendly people you could imagine, live music that was atmospheric and not over the top... this was definitely more than we could have asked for in our first meal in Phoenix on our vacation.

This place is a most, cozy, familiar restaurant with lots of taste and warm atmosphere. Love Frida khalo’s paints on the walls. The sangria was great and the adobada highly recommended. In the weekends the menu completely changes, they serve sea food and steaks with live music. The service was magnificent.
All around good experience and food from this establishment.. really good attention to customers and staff knowing about the dishes offered at said restaurant!

The food was amazing and authentic. The fresh guacamole was the best I’ve had. Great side sauces for the chips. The Cesina was incredible and very tasty. My wife loved the Recalentado. Drinks were very good as well. Incredible atmosphere and very clean. Staff were hospitable and helpful. If I lived in the area I would frequent this wonderful gem. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
This was good!! Another random selection that really worked! We made reservations (they weren't needed) and made our way over. The parking lot is small, but easily navigated by a full size SUV. The entrance is so casual, that it didn't seem like we were in the right place. When you turn that corner, it opens up into an intimate space that is softly illuminated, and the air is filled with a serenade of a . The food was amazing, to say the least, and it illustrated the clear difference between them and their competitors. This place is worth multiple visits to sample the entire menu!
Amazing is the perfect word for this restaurant. Our server was AMAZING. She knew the menu inside and out. She gave great recommendations for drinks and the chefs special. Live music is playing in the background with the amazing artwork of Frida. The dishes that are being served had so much flavor, and you wanted more. Delicious, flavorful desserts that you must try as well. So bring your appetite you won't regret it.
Holy mole this restaurant is a hidden gem! We visited on a Saturday night and entered through their shady looking back door, walked down a narrow hallway and thought we may have been in the wrong place. Don't worry! You'll be greeted by a surprisingly vibrant and welcoming staff and bright ambiance just on the other side.
We had the chef special and the sampler appetizer to share and they both were excellent. The traditional mole and mole verde were some of the best we've had. The setting with live music was a great touch and not too loud.
Would recommend for a date night or a relaxing dinner with friends.
Best enchiladas verdes my husband ever had and the chicken salad was just right! The chips are uniquely puffy and so delicious. Service was great too! We'll be back!
