After our Saturday language classes nearby we rounded the corners and there was Matt's! Having seen this place on the news a few times over the years and being a breakfast lover, we gave it a try. This early lunch/late breakfast had us ordering griddle cakes, jalapeño and ham scambled eggs with hash browns and a Reuben sandwich with potato chips. Everything arrived at our table as ordered, cooked perfectly and looked amazing. Our blueberry griddle cakes were fluffy and crispy around the edges with berries that popped as you pushed your fork thru them. Fresh jalapeños and perfectly scrambled eggs, not too wet and not cooked dry..just spot on with the cheddar cheese and other veggies mixed in. Finally, the reuben may have been the only thing to quibble about. It was a little light on meat given the thickness of the rye, chips were run of the mill wavy type so a nice potato or macaroni salad would have been a better compliment to the other scratch made food on show here. We will definitely be coming back as there was more to try on the menu. Yumm.

I visited this MBB location today, right as they opened. The restaurant was quiet, empty, and clean! My girlfriend and I were greeted immediately and placed our orders. I got the waffle and bacon with a raspberry honey lemonade, and she got the oatmeal with eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. All our food was hot and delicious!

I’m in Phoenix for an extended business trip and this by far has been the best experience I’ve had so far. The food is delicious and the service is amazing. Will definitely be back here.

What can be said about this local, family owned eatery that hasn’t alway been said? Ginormous portions of some of the highest quality dishes ever! To-die-for avocado toast, savory bacon, perfectly made eggs, the fluffiest pancakes and waffles and the salads are off the charts! Definitely a family favorite and everyone we know whenever they visit Matt’s can’t resist calling to share how much they loved it!

I hoped to eat at Matt’s Big Breakfast during my visit to Phoenix…and they did not disappoint! We were seated immediately (we expected a long wait from what others said) and we were able to order right away! We arrived at 11:00 on a Monday. We started with the honey lemonade…it’s a must have and it’s fresh squeezed! I had the Five Spot Platter with home fries (with fresh rosemary) and the artisanal roll was so light—it was amazing! I loved the bacon and the pork products are crafted by local butchers. The chef told us that all of the sourdough breads and the rolls come from the Wildflower Bread Company. We learned that they do not have freezers or microwaves and everything is made from scratch—that’s why it’s so fresh! This restaurant also only cooks with real butter and extra virgin olive oil. We also had the Salami Scramble with hash browns, sour dough toast and fresh homemade strawberry jam. Additionally, we split a short stack of griddle cakes with 100% real Vermont maple syrup. It was delicious. The portions were very big—so big that we actually took half of it back to our resort to warm up the next morning. I would highly recommend Matt’s Big Breakfast to anyone who is a breakfast lover!

Fantastic breakfast restaurant! Very busy, we had to wait about 20 minutes for a table for 5 people but so worth it. The staff was exceedingly friendly and prompt. I never had to ask for more coffee. They were at the table every 5 minutes or so to refill. The price of the food was reasonable and the portions large. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault. I will definitely be going back to this establishment.

Cute place! The chop and chick is a huge amount of food if you're really hungry! The toast is excellent, thick and fluffy. The jam/jelly is so fresh and delicious! Avacado toast is one big thick slice of bread, highly recommend getting the poached egg and putting it on top ☺️ patio seating and single seating inside

I got an egg and chorizo burro. There wasn't much flavor to the chorizo but the jalapenos were brutally hot. Service was awesome, lots of friendly people making sure we had everything we needed (like lots of water for the hot jalapenos)

After hiking Piestewa Peak, this was the perfect place to refuel. The Big Papa burrito was delicious and the kids loved the waffles! I got the special scramble that had a little spice and was a treat!

Good food and excellent service. I chose MBB for breakfast while traveling through the area as I needed low carbohydrate breakfast options. Ordered the cheese omelet and added all the extras to it. Comes with toast and potatoes, not pictured because I didn’t want to be tempted. The home fries looked so delicious and the toast is thick sliced. The thick cut bacon was so good. Endless coffee with quick refills.

First time customer but I’ll be back before I fly back to the east coast. Price and portions are fair. Probably the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Turkey sausage was yummy. Employees anticipated my needs before I had to ask. Had more coffee and butter quicker than I could blurt out the request. Solid.

Monday July 10, 2023 - Came here for the first time in a long time with a friend. Love the vibes this place has. Peaceful and pretty quiet. We were told to seat ourselves and we liked that. My friend got the steak and eggs from Sunday and she loved it. I took her recommendation and got an order to go for my boyfriend (he loved it too). I got the 3 pancakes and they were good. Great flavor. They were very fluffy. I didn’t eat a lot b/c I am personally a fan of thinner pancakes and I got super full fast (I know that’s weird. Most people like them fluffy). Be careful of the syrup. It’s super good, and can be hot, so handle with care, especially when children are at the table. Food cost was relatively low even with the increase in food costs. Value was great.

This is the best breakfast in the Biltmore and Camelback Corridor neighborhood. They use quality ingredients. The hollandaise is delicious and balanced. They serve good coffee. The staff is friendly and they are very accommodating. Only twice, after many visits, did I have the smallest issue and they fixed it right away. Oh, and the breakfast meats are delicious (above average delicious bacon and the Canadian bacon on the Eggs Benedict is tender and flavorful).
