Florencia Pizza Bistro is one of those locally owned neighborhood eateries. Ahwatukee has a lot of these little hidden gems because most of them are located in strip malls. This one has been around for quite some time and resides next door to the popular Melting Pot. They offer three types of pizza – Traditional, Olive Oil (Garlic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Mozzarella Cheese with no tomato sauce) and Pesto (Basil Pesto Sauce with no tomato sauce). You can create your own with toppings (over 40 topping choices) or choose from one of their popular specialty pizza creations. Some of the names include the Snow White, Pomodora, Valentinos, Winchester, Clevenger, Malanzane, Bo-Be and the Green-Eyed Chicken. There are many more creations to choose from and they have vegetarian options as well. The dough is house made and their pizzas are thin-crust. I’m more of a thick crust person myself but actually found their thin crust quite enjoyable. They also have panini, calzones, salads and sandwiches if pizza is not on your radar. Their appetizer menu is not incredibly large but they have a nice variety to choose from. I got the mozzarella sticks and felt they were just average. We ordered the Clark’s Classic pizza which consisted of pepperoni and chicken marinated in buffalo sauce. I was a little worried the sauce would soak through the thin crust and make it soggy but it actually held up (even eating it as a leftover the next day). There is a small bar area to the side where you can order a glass of wine or beer. The owner is a Wildcat fan (boo…) and they’ve had fun fundraisers in the past during the annual ASU/UA football game to benefit the local high schools in the area. It wasn’t very busy when I visited but service was pretty good.
Hands-down the best pizza in the Tukee!!!
Awesome Pizza!. We ordered a couple of pizzas....both were fantastic. The thin crust is crispy and thin - just perfect. One pizza was a little light on its feta cheese though.
My only slight complaint is the price.....I find it high for what you get. A 12" thin crust pizza w/ sausage, onions, mushrooms is around 20 bucks. But luckily it's good so this restaurant is getting my thumbs up!
Bought a groupon and finally went to try this place out. The sausage pizza with pesto base was awesome!! Can't wait to go back!
I have had alot of pizza, and this pizza is one of the best in AZ, it has great toppings and sauce, but the crust and dough make this pizza great. atmosphere is a romantic casual
Nice Home Made Tasting Crust. I like the Pizza a lot. The crust is very good.
Best in Ahwatukee Love the thin crust...so many great choices, but my fave is the Mykonos. Great fresh salads and homemade balsamic vinegrette. Service has been fine but we've never been in a big hurry.
Food, People - New Patio. This is such a great place to have a great dinner, stop in for a beer or grab a pizza to go!! We really enjoy for spring the new outdoor patio seating !!

Updated review: Best Pizza in the Valley. I used to live in Ahwatukee and Florencia Pizza Bistro is my absolute favorite pizza that I found there and in all of Phoenix so far! The sauce is unique and sweet, and I've never been disappointed by the quality of their food overall, especially the Margherita pizza and pesto cheese bread! Now that I'm living in the north valley, I always try to find a pizza joint that's half as good as Florencia.
The only downfall to this Ahwatukee gem is that the service is sometimes lacking, as it could be hard at times to get your server's attention, causing food to take a while to make it to your table. The problem seems to be that there are usually 3 greeters at the door standing around, but only 2 servers helping tables!
I will say, though, when we became regulars, we would ask to sit in one waitress, Carrie's, section, and she would already have our order in for us when she saw us coming! If the rest of the servers could give the attention she did, service would be top notch.
Overall, Florencia Pizza Bistro is my absolute favorite pizza place in the valley; I only wish it wasn't so far away now that I've moved!
Great Food, Not-So-Great Service. The food is fantastic, and the selection of pizzas is great. I recommend trying the Pesto Bread - delish! However, if you plan on dining in, make sure you have everything you need at the table when your server drops off the food, because once he/she walks away, you won't see them again - even to get your bill! I'll stick to take-out with this place.
This place has great food and service.
The Barry's Pesto Bread is a delicious appetizer or meal. The flavor and texture of the walnuts pairs nicely with the jalapeño, pesto, and mozzarella.
The pizza crust is a nice combo of crispy and soft.
The toppings are fresh and work well with the crust.
The restaurant is surrounded by nice foothill and mountain views. The interior had a nice, soft lit ambiance.
It's a gem in the Ahwatukee Foothills.
My brother suggested we go to Florencia Pizza and I was a bit hesitant. I actually like pizza, I just don't like a lot of dough.
The pizza we split was surprisingly good. A nice, thin, crisp crust rather than tons of chewy dough. I had the Bo-Be which was pesto and I liked it.
So, another visit would not be out of the question at all.
Ordered food for the first time through grub hub and what a surprise! Called the restaurant and after almost 10 min of conversation where they couldn’t even see our order a very rude manager gets on the phone who sounded very rushed and impatient. Then in a rude tone she told me that I should have known that the driver has to place the order on behalf of Grubhub and then wait 50 more minutes for food to be done. Seems like she was not interested in our orders all that much. This tells me they don’t care much about their customers. Ordered two calzones, they were large and ordinary. Absolutely over priced food. We love great Italian food; however we re not sure whether we would order food from this restaurant again because if their behavior and first impression. Despite our experience, I would recommend as the food was not bad. Give it s a try if you want to pay premium price for regular food.
Cool little neighborhood pizza place. The server we had was very nice and attentive. I had high expectations for this pizza based on the pictures. The crust was cooked perfectly but overall it was just lacking flavor. We also ordered the classic pesto bread. Once again, great potential but ended up just being bland.
We absolutely love Florencias! One of our all time favorites restaurants. The pizza is always amazing, the atmosphere is great, and the service is great! Love this spot!
Wow.. what a gem. I have lived in Ahwatukee for 10+ years, and this is my first time visiting. Great variety on the menu. The crust is perfect. Enjoyed our first pesto pizza.. soooo delicious!! The service was phenomenal... thank you, Maddie. We will be back !!!!
The food was great. The server was very friendly. We asked for some specific preparation for a couple of our meals and the team executed our meal without issues. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the host er (hostess?) was cold, unfriendly and seemingly disinterested. Did not seem to want to welcome or assist us. Very odd. After arriving this person almost caused us to leave to dine elsewhere. However once we were able to be seated the rest of the experience was wonderful.
Such a great spot! The staff and management have been very friendly & accommodating when we have reserved the patio for large surprise birthday parties. Always in the best hands with Gabby! The margarita pizza is a must have!

I really enjoyed the food I got but my sister didn't care for the GF crust. It wasn't busy but the service was slow and they only refilled our drinks once.
My girlfriend had ordered our favorite pizza from our favorite pizzeria via GrubHub pickup to make use of the monthly $10 discount.
Unfortunately Florencia isn't well aligned with GrubHub - maybe because it competes with and limits the rewards of their dedicated delivery drivers but that's a shot in the dark. The bottom line is my order wasn't input from the GrubHub system into an actual order for the kitchen to prepare. However, they rushed my order through while the place was absolutely packed, and allowed me the beverage of my choosing while waiting for the food to be prepared.
No experience is truly perfect and personal reviews are often subjective at best and relative by nature. The fact is the management and workers really care about the service they provide and the atmosphere in which they provide it,and as far as I'm concerned they handle any mistakes with genuine concern and a fair, graceful effort. Kudos.
Great food, cozy & quiet atmosphere, and excellent service. The pizza here has fresh ingredients and is cooked just right. Our server Taylor was very personable and attended to our every need. Good place for a date night or for families.
The capistria salad was excellent. The balsamic dressing is just right. the pizza looed great but could use more flavor perhaps the sausage could be more garlicky?
My family has been coming to Florencia's since they originally opened in Mesa probably over 20 years ago (cant remember when exactly), and ever since then they have not once disappointed! Val & his team are always on point with their customer service, and the food is some of the best, if not THE best in the valley! Quality ingredients, quality service, quality atmosphere, what else can you ask for? Their specialty pizza options are great, too. I highly recommend the Bravo pizza - olive oil base, goat cheese, italian sausage & fennel! They definitely will continue to have customers for life here!
Probably the best pizza in the East Valley. Plus always good and attractive staff.
We moved close a few years ago. Always a go to any night, we also like to bring house guests by. Lots of grapes to drink. Yum.
From Chicago and was hesitant on AZ type pizzas but this place is great! It's all about the sauce and the crust and they kill it here. Not a bad pizza on the menu. Try their one of kind salads as well. This is a must on your pizza go to list!
