Outstanding meal!
The New England clam chowder was truly delicious, and the Fried Cod dinner surpassed it. Haven't had such good chowder since Pike Place Market in Seattle. The portions are ample (we both took home doggy bags, though we know who gets the lion's portion, though!
Oysters. Found this restaurant by accident when searching for good oysters in Phoenix. I have eaten as many oysters as any man in my day and am very pleased with Taylor's. Ordered the fried oysters; Large size, large portion, (7) and lightly breaded. The clam chowder was excellent (only 2 small potato pieces not 2 small clam strips and 20 potato pieces.) The next test for this place in my opinion would be the scallops. Having boated the Chesapeake Bay and know a sea scallop from a piece pollock used in a lot of so called seafood restaurants; I can't wait to return here and try them. I have lived in Phoenix for 32 years and this is the first authentic seafood house that matches many old style houses in the Chesapeake Bay region.
Awesome chowder great friendly service.
Not Great, but OK. This is a non corporate, family style place. Anyone will feel welcome here. Most of the food is ok, but nothing to send a postcard home about.
I expect more from Mom & Pop's! That does not mean I wouldn't eat here again though.
So glad to see them open again. The Catfish and everything was excellent.
Chowder of course was amazing. The cheese sticks were unbelievably delicious dipped in the marinara. The batter on the fish and cheese sticks is out of this world. My lunch platter of the Trout Almondine was oustanding and washed down with a good cold hefeweisen beer. Top it all off our server Missy was great too.
Had a great late lunch/early dinner with my sweetheart. Was not crowded. Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic. Our server Jessica was great. Would highly recommend!!!
Clams came out to play. They were bomb. As Billy Bob I was able to get a nice bowl of clam chowder from Gillian. And extra tartar sauce because real men eat tartar sauce. Lots of it. Scoops of tartar sauce that's dripping off the plate. Mounds of tartar sauce in an exotic almost erotic way. I rubbed it on my clams and then I ate them. Give Taylor's a try because it is family owned and the people working there are amazing folk. Don't forget the extra tartar sauce!
This is the best restaurant to get seafood like it is meant to be. Claims with bellies , large fresh scallops, best tasting fish. The serving sizes are great, but what really makes this restaurant the best, are the employees, the manager, all of the waitresses, they greet you with a smile, treat you like family,I don’t feel like I am in a restaurant, the atmosphere makes it so much more then that. Thank you all at Taylor’s Chowder House for making my visits so wonderful, from Janet T.
A New England Clam Chowder gem in the desert. You walk in this place and the southwest disappears as you walk into an old school New England seafood dining experience. Prices are reasonable and the chowder is as close to authentic as you’ll get this far out. Just for the record, it’s still not as good as being there but it’s close!
Elisa was AWESOME !!!
The Food is always on point. The clam chowder is home made and the fish is always fresh and cooked to order. The all you can eat fish and chips on Wednesday is the best deal in town. But don't wait the prices are very reasonable, no matter when you go.
I have to say, this restaurant is absolutely excellent. Thanks featured photo is the two plus two, which has two Atlantic Cod filets, with two Jumbo Shrimp, and it was all cooked perfectly. I also had the New England Clam Chowder, and I've never had a better cup of Chowder in my life. I'll definitely be coming back here again. This place is definitely on par, or even better than somewhere like Red Lobster. The hostess was also very nice and a joy to talk with. I recommend anyone try this place out if they like fish, whether they're just passing through Phoenix or they're a resident.
Lived in Massachusetts most of my life and now live in the Phoenix area. Have been craving a New England Fried Clam plate. Taylor's is the real deal. The menu said Ipswich clams and they sure tasted like it - yum!
Good family seafood place. Had the clam chowder and the seafood platter. I enjoyed all of it.
The service was quick and very friendly.
Wow! Never judge a booky by it's cover. This is one of those joints. I wanted a nice change of pace for dinner. It was early in the evening so the place was not busy. It is a very unassuming restaurant. Do not let that fool you.
The staff here was amazing. Our waitress was the sweetest of all. She was very attentive and helpful. She was a delight for the entire meal. She provided great recommendations.
We went with some boiled shrimp as an appetizer and shared a calamari for the meal. This joint is worth the time and definitely for enjoying. Glad to have enjoyed a meal here. It may happens again.
Great food. My wife had raw oysters and scallops so good. I have the trout so much flavor. Some of the best New England Clam Chowder, they make it fresh.
Good value for their lunch! Tried a variety of dishes and all good quality fish. Very accommodating with our menu change requests. Shout out to the waitress who was all by herself during lunch rush but still was friendly
Like a real seafood reataurant on any pier in New England, Sadly they permenantly closed a few month's back. Sad day for New Englander's in Phoenix...
First timer here and definitely not the last. Excellent staff and Nicole totally took care of us.... she's awesome! 👍👍👍. The food was D' Lish!
Excellent plenty of food in the fried food for 2. Great value. Taking the family back tomorrow even though it is an hour away from home. A+
