This is a restaurant which not only has singularly marvelous pizza, but, has, for two and a half decades now, been near and dear to my heart. I will turn 40 years old in less than one year's time. At the young age of fifteen, I had the opportunity to experience poignant tragedy in the form of the completely unexpected death of my 11 year old brother--a warm, gentle, loving boy. I can't remember specifically when, as to this day, that entire week remains something of a blur, but, at some point--as my family's home was abuzz with friends and families, coworkers and others, all who knew not what to say--two humongous piles of pizza boxes were delivered to our home. I don't remember the specific wording of the affixed note, but it was something to the effect of "We heard about your situation and simply wanted to reach out and share our love with you." To this day, no one knows how they even knew, but, as a fifteen year old, I had no problem helping them out of their apparent "excess pizza problem." I've never forgotten the name. Ray's. Delivering for Doordash a couple months ago, I ended up back at the very restaurant that sent those pizzas. None of the employees had any idea what I was talking about--I'd say it was a fair bet that none of them had 25 years Ray's employment under their belt. All the same, I ended up ordering a pizza myself a few days later and, my goodness, it tasted just as good as it had before. Thanks for your heart back on November 3rd, 1999, and thanks a bunch for still making great tasting pies! -Adam Lee (Brother to Jacob Andrew Lee a.k.a. "Birdie."😁)

Ray's has been run by the same family for over 20+ years. All dishes are authentic and haven't changed in years. Lunch specials are a great deal and pricing is consistent with all other pizza places. Staff is friendly and very welcoming.

There's a lot of Ray's pizza, and none of them touch this place. I've been going here for more than 20 years. If it isn't THIS Ray's, it's not the same. Was talking to another customer there yesterday. He's been going to this one for 40 years... really says a lot. Love this place! 5/5 all day! If you want to try a different kind of pie, I also recommend the Sicilian pizza they have!

I love Ray's Pizza. This location and Happy Valley have the best pizza. Please bring a Ray's Pizza to Goodyear! The options for great tasting pizza are limited. Thank you for caring about the quality of your food!

My favorite pizza place I occasionally order from here because the pizzas are tasty and crunchy. I usually get the Ray's monster. The prices are great compared to other places. You get the quality also. The staff are friendly and nice. I recommend everyone trying this place. ***If anyone likes my honest reviews then please like my post and follow my google account*** -Thanks

So another Ray on another day.... this is the one on 35th Ave ave and Union Hills... order 3 slices and, or course, a side of meatballs. Pizza was definitely NY style but it was decent.. there are a lot of other NY style places making better pizza. The meatballs, oddly enough, are the same exact meatballs that Uncle Tony's has down on 19th Ave and Northern! Overall... it wasn't bad pizza. I enjoyed it so I'm giving 4 stars. The meatballs I've always liked from Uncle Tony's so they are most likely frozen and not homemade. So far Lucky's on 6630 W Cactus Rd # 108 in Glendale (hands down) the best meatballs I have ever had out here.

We thought we'd try Ray's Pizza as they were one of the closest places to where we're staying and the pictures posted of their NY thin crust pizza looked amazing. And the pizza WAS amazing! Toppings were plentiful and big (particularly notable was the ham, mushrooms, and anchovies... mmmmm!) Then there was the wings. Another win! "Mild" was more of a medium Buffalo which was perfect for me but just a little hot for the DW. The price while reasonable seemed a little bit higher than a nearby competitor, but the meal was better. We WILL be back and will be looking forward to trying some other items that we fully expect will be just as good.

Great great great pizza. Our fave is the shaved meatball and fresh garlic. Oh boy! It's the bomb. NY style can't get much better here in Phoenix without going to New York. The prices are good, staff is always very friendly and the food is super fresh. If you go it's a must to sit by the skyline.

We are new to the neighborhood and stopped by for slices and wings and what a pleasant surprise! We found our neighborhood gem! I'm a sicilian girl from Brooklyn so I have a hard time with pizza in Arizona but this was fabulous!

I am pretty sure I was one of their first customers back in the 80's. This place makes pizza like it should be made! So much cheese that it slides from side to side when its hot. The cheese is long and stretchy. The crust is made just right, not too hard and not too soft, just the right amount of crunch. Their calzones put shame to other places in town. They are so good! Prices are cheaper, then the other places that call themselves Rays, and not near as good. The only cons are that they close early and not open on Sunday. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and go visit the real Rays Pizza at 35th Ave and Union Hills. You will be a repeat customer.
