It's family owned and run it seems and they are great people. The pizza is a thin crust NY style I guess but damn it's good!
đź’Honestly I didn't check my bill but, based on other reviews maybe I should have.🤔
Social distancing space they set up is very good! It was the (1st restaurant I've eaten in since may 2020) I felt comfortable.
I had a slice of cheese pizza, and split 6 wings with my wife, she had pepperoni🍕. We both thought it was a good place to grab a quick, inexpressive lunch, or dinner "it is good enough" ... We were satisfied with portion size, and quality it's a pretty good pizza joint, with super accommodating staff🏆. Would gladly eat here again. Wish they had blue cheese salad dressing.
These bad reviews are blowing my mind. I have been going to this pizza place for YEARS it is excellent pizza, I live pretty far away from it now but still drive miles to get pizza here because it is better than any where else in the area. As far as people complaining about the "manager" or "staff" this is a family owned business, I am pretty sure the man operates it just with his wife and two daughters, all of whom are very nice people and work incredibly hard, the amount of time they spend there is kind of crazy so yes if you show up at 9:45 and want to dine in or have them make an entire new pizza so you can buy a slice....they will probably tell you you need to buy a whole pizza and ask you to sit outside so they can clean up and actually go home for the day. It is very sad how inconsiderate and self centered so many of you are leaving bad reviews for a family run business that has great food. not sure where you all are coming from but I am guessing you aren't from Arizona with all your snobby remarks! I will agree with the place being a bit more run down than is acceptable. I wouldn't say it's "gross" but it could really use updating and the bathroom is unpleasant. I tend to just pick my food up and take it home though so not a huge issue for me.

best pizza!! have been coming here since i got my 1st job back in 2019. It's always nice and quiet and no one ever bothers us. 100% recommend.
I just ate there, on 4-14, and got a white pizza with sausage and 25 wings. It was exactly what I was hoping to find, we are only stopping in Arizona a few weeks between Cali and DC while we do the military move nonsense. But I will tell you, when you crave this kind of crust for your pizza it is hard to find a place that balances the grease vs. Toppings properly and this nailed it. Now, the wings, I haven't had wings in 2 years because I usually don't think they hit the spot I want them too or they're literally undercooked. This place as the crispy wings and the amount that of sauce is literally perfect. I had my husband and brother with me and we obliterated that plate of wings like starved kids. I cannot recommend this place more than saying I have moved 38 times and finding good pizza can be really difficult. I wish this was near my place in DC :'(
Here's a picture from this visit when I realized how good it was and thought to write a review!
The wings are always delicious, I go to Rays Pizza several times a week for the wings. Family owned busy, friendly, polite and great service .
I've been eating at Ray's Pizza since 2011 and it is still a great place to get a New York style pizza at a great price. The sausage pizza is my favorite ( note: the sausage looks like pepperoni and when its baked gets all crispy like you would expect from pepperoni) Delicious! Keep up the good work and Amazing Pizza!
Note: I gave a 4 star review because the restroom was not clean and very run down looking. I think some remodel work is definitely needed.
Ray’s is a delicious spot to grab a bite! Their wings are some of the best I’ve ever had and their lunch special is a great deal. Their pizza tastes straight out of NY and the staff are so welcoming and kind!
By far THE BEST Ray's Pizza in Phoenix! I'll pass 2 other "Rays Pizza" shops just to get to this one. I believe they are all privately owned and operated, which is why this one differs so differently than the rest. This shop has my hands down most favorite pizza!
It’s absolutely the finest NY style Pizza anywhere. So good!
Ray's is a weekly go to. If you love traditional NY style pizza, think of the $1 Slice shops all over NYC, the pizza here is the best.
Do yourself a favor. Get a plain cheese slice. Fold it in half and go at it. There's no other pizza in the valley I crave like I do this Ray's.
The staff here are great.
The man who makes the pizza is quiet, but exceeding friendly when you take the time to chat with him.
One of the women, I assume the man's wife(?) Is so kind. Always has a gentle smile.
Last, but absolutely not least, the younger woman is truly a joy. When my husband and I walk in, she always has the biggest smile. She knows us well. "Two specials?" Yes ma'am.
There's something amazing about going someplace where people great you a smile and a great meal. Not to mention, $8.50 for two slices of pizza and a drink make for a very reasonable lunch.
My Daughter and I had travelled in for the Fiesta bowl and she was wanting pizza. Since we do not do chain restaurants we decided to check the place out. Great little mom and pop place!. Food was delicious and hot. I read the staff is unfriendly but I did not experience that. I am assuming the daughter was the one that waited on us and while not overly friendly anything but rude. I think its just her, but she was very nice and accommodating. The place was super clean and food was to us in the time that they stated. Next time we are back will definitely visit again!
Clean friendly service! Yummy pizza that i could eat everyday and not gain weight because of the simple ingredients. Highly recommend.
