Such a hidden gem ! It’s a small intimate cocktail bar that plays Afro, hip hop and r&b music! We loved it so much I was hesitant to post this review lol but I don’t gate-keep so had to share how amazing this place is. It’s a chill vibe and the staff were all super nice. Drinks were really good just a lil pricey. We had a blast nonetheless! Hope they add food to the menu - that would be the cherry on top. Thanks for a great date night ! ❤️

This place is beautiful and the staff is amazing hands down 🙌🏾 I went this weekend for my birthday and the girls took very good care of me I didn’t have to chase them down for a drink they made sure we was always good and that’s a plus for me. The music was great to lol I mean it was just a whole vibe. It’s kind of small though but it makes sense seem like a just getting off work or a I need to get away from those kids and have some me time type of spot or if you just want to just be out with your partner for some special time together. Definitely recommend it and most definitely I will be back you queens keep striving and shout out to the owner your establishment is very warm and welcoming

Great drink specials, there's no food served here it's just a AMAZING water hole, with a juke joint vibe. Also the drinks menu is named after Hip-hop lyrics in songs 🖤👏🏿

Visited Phoenix for the first time with the wife. Found this place and checked it out. Wifey & I were looking for a dope spot to chill, have a drink & vibe. The Boom Boom Room definitely answered the call. Small & intimate, PERFECT! We're on the other half of our 30's so the loud club just ain't it no more. Great music, dope vibe and A PLACE TO SIT! I got 'life is good' but they were out of strawberry. She recommended blueberry but I wasn't feeling it. So she said they also had passionfruit. I said yes but when I tried it, I didn't like it. My wife said to exchange it but I said no. The bartender offered to exchange it but I said it was my fault and I should have gone with the recommended blueberry. I DRANK MY MISTAKE LIKE A MAN LOL Wifey had 'purple rain' and LOVED it

This place is an all out vibe. The drinks were well made and the atmosphere was a grown one. It reminded me of a cigar bar minus the cigars. I especially enjoyed the art on the walls and the music was pretty good also. I will be back!

Agreed that bartender Bri needs a class in customer service and satisfaction, but she is an excellent bartender in terms of mixology. I mention her first because she's the first person I saw when entering and everyone knows the gatekeepers are essential to the experience. I sat and enjoyed the music and a few drinks and like with many women bartenders, they're not always friendly towards other women. But I also understand that goes both ways. She waa just more amenable to male patrons. The reason for the four stars are the drinks and a wonderful member of the staff named Jamyla. She's a gem and a keeper! If she's not management or in charge of hosting, it's a disservice. Even the young man who cooks came out to take my order and he was so friendly. It's small, but very well maintained. As a Black woman owned establishment, always think about women dollars. We hold purse strings and bring the boys to the yard, so make sure ALL staff are aware and represent accordingly. I would visit again. Thanks you to Jamyla for enhancing what would have been an average, predictable and quick in/out experience.

The place is very cozy. I loved the name of the drinks and the drinks we had were very good. The bartender also knew her stuff when it came to making the drinks. The music was good and it was a good vibe!

We noticed the mural of JZ and Beyonce mural on Mcdowell and 16th st and we realized it was a bar. We stopped by for a few drinks. The ambience inside is intimate, cozy, modern, and simple. The bartenders are very nice, friendly and made really good strong drinks. The patrons of the bar were very welcoming, we felt like we were among friends. The music was very good- a mix of rnb and current and old hip-hop. As we were leaving, the dj came and started playing really good music too (we came on a Saturday night). For drinks we had Confessions, Side Car, and Old Fashioned and all drinks were very good. We were nicely surprised that for one of the drinks they used aquafaba instead of egg whites. We definitely will come back here and bring our friends!

They have food trucks come thru now! Check their Instagram before you go. I brought a girlfriend here to celebrate her 2nd Masters Degree from GCU. Her and her husband enjoyed the vibe and we had such a great time catching up. I bring any and every one I can to this bar💖

Hip hop/R&B music in an intimate space, fire art on the walls and drinks were good (can get a little syrupy though, so ask them to go light on the flavor!) Great late night spot!

Here is my honest review: Before I went in, I read the reviews. The reviews were off-putting but I like to experience things for myself so I went against the negative reviews and walked inside. Note: The place is kind of hard to find, especially with the parking blocks still showing a flower shop on it, so it threw me off a little. But I digress. Once I walked inside, I saw a very intimate place with a few people. I honestly liked the fact that it wasn't overcrowded. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and attentive. I read reviews about them not being attentive but maybe it was very busy at that time, or maybe they didn't have enough staff. My suggestion is, if you see the staff is overwhelmed, be patient, or apply for a position 🤷🏾‍♂️ The drinks were very good. I tried two recommendations by the bartender/mixologist, and they did not disappoint. This place is more of a lounge. It is really chill. If you are looking for a place to "turn up", this may not be the place for you. I read a review about the music skipping or cutting off. Again, if you are observant you would see they play music through their phones. If the signal goes out or they receive a message, it will affect the music. We all know that. Let's not ding them for something so small; I do have a recommendation though, to possibly stream music on the TV through an app like Pandora or anything else, so they won't have to use their personal phones. The music did cut off, like twice, but I understood why so it didn't bother me one bit. The overall vibe was welcoming, chill, and reminiscent of this one bar I used to frequent where I felt comfortable and safe. I will definitely be back. I just think people need to be more understanding with "The Boom Boom Room". This place is dope. At least it is to me. Again, this is NOT a place to "turn up". This is a place where you can go for a drink, listen to music, and actually still be able to have a conversation with whomever you are with. That is my honest review.
