We need to have a serious conversation in this country about what a local amazing casual dining restaurant is and more importantly can be. The Local Goat gets it spot on and needs to be the bar that others strive to reach.
I’ve never had anything not good here and most things are at the top of the category. Don’t expect to just pop in here plan ahead and either make reservations or open the door at lunch. The place is always packed with tourists and locals. The price point is super reasonable based upon the volume of food.
Now to the specifics. Definitely try the deviled eggs they are the best I’ve had. The fried green tomatoes are best in season and I would suggest ordering the toppings on the side. I am hard on fried green tomatoes in general and these are top of the line. The fried fish was nicely seasoned, the coleslaw is good (put some sugar in it if you are used to sweet slaw). The simple Patriot Burger was perfection cooked just the way I ordered it. The fries were good, but a little heavy on the salt.
The lime margaritas was fresher squeezed key lime juice which was an amazing surprise.

We took our 10 (picky eater) and 6 year old. Both loved it! We all enjoyed the cheese fondue appetizer, and the waiter even brought more bread and apples out when he saw we were low. The fries were everyone's favorite side. Husband enjoyed the ribs, and the half rack was plenty. I had the sirloin, baked potato, and cheese grits. All phenomenal! Their drinks were also delicious. Get reservations a couple of weeks out!

Delicious food for the whole family, in big enough portions. Every ingredient in each meal seemed thought through carefully, because it was all really flavorful. It cost about $75 for our family of 5, and we all walked away really satisfied, so it was worth it.
The broccoli was a little lackluster compared to everything else, and one of us got overly greasy fries, but everything else was great. A cozy atmosphere, clean place (including the bathrooms), and even with a long wait we were glad we went here.

My main dish was the shrimp & grits- 😮💨🥵🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 with the peanut butter pie for desert. Listen…. I had to roll myself home. & I’d do it again…
Kids all ordered burgers- HUGE burgers that were filled with deliciousness. Then for desert they had cheese cake & were not disappointed.
The waitress was personable & funny. We loved her!
Only bad thing & it’s really not their fault bc they weren’t aware- but there was puke on the wall behind the toilet in the ladies room. As soon as I told my waitress she promptly had it taken care of & apologized. The rest of the establishment was in very clean condition.

Amazing burgers and amazing service! Be prepared to look for parking and wait to be seated! We were able to find a seat at the bar until our table was ready and had a few beers. The bartender was super friendly. Had a conversation with one of the kitchen staff and followed their recommendations. It's worth the drive, worth the wait.

13,000+ reviews, I'd still love to add one more. My wife and I were here on a family vacation, as most are. We went here day 1 and the only thing we regretted about our experience was we didn't go here the last day of our visit because everywhere else we went didnt taste as good. This restaurant is in the top 5 places we have eaten at. We don't go to high end restaurants, so I don't have that experience to go off of. This was a VERY reasonably priced establishment. Their food is made from scratch, about 95% of it they said if I remember that correctly. You can taste it. From the bun to the fries, everything had so much flavor and paired so very well together. My wife got the hot chicken sandwich, and I had the Tennessee BBQ burger. They were both so good! The fry on the chicken sandwich was perfect. My burger had so much flavor. The table went silent and everyone enjoyed their meal. I had an old fashion with my meal, which was also made perfectly. We finished it off with a red velvet cheesecake. The cheesecake was amazing, and they made an actual cake to layer on top of it. All in all, I wish I had eaten here for every meal.

Visited there on 9/25/23 and was absolutely blown away. They were very busy, but we were seated quickly after a 15-minute wait. The Ribeye was very flavorful and tender. The Ribs were delicious. The Fettuccine dish was also delicious, and the burgers were excellent. I had the Stuffed Peppers for an appetizer; they were roasted and delicious. Definitely will be back.

Excellent dining experience. The Lamb burger and Bison meatloaf were amazing! The Taziki sauce for the lamb burger was great. The sides are phenomenal, too. We had the BBQ chicken nachos. Superb! This is a local restaurant and locally sourced. I admire that. The service was great, too. They made a slight mistake on the lamb burger but fixed it immediately. They were also very apologetic. The mistake was very minor, but it was refreshing to see how much they cared about satisfaction.

We had dinner at the Local Goat on Tuesday and the food was great. The burgers were juicy and the wings were jumbo sized.
The service was also great. Robert was our server and he was extremely helpful and set a good pace for dinner. Please give him high praises from us!

Can’t say enough! Had a group of ten, at peak time, waited only 45 min. Not bad at all! We got 4 apps, 10 entrees and everything was perfect. Of the dishes, we highly recommend the onion rings, Steak Kabob, and the Deep Fried Deviled Eggs. Friendly service, timely and delicious.
