Review Pardners Bbq - Piney Flats

We came to have the all you can eat fish. I had the biggest baked potato I have ever seen in my life. Our waitress was wonderful, she never let our drinks go dry and she kept us supplied in fish. She was great to cut up with as well. I will definitely make sure she is my waitress every time I come here. I added a picture of the potato, it fills the entire bowl.

The baked potatoes were huge... and very tasty.. Nice salad.. I got the combo plate of brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was very tender and good. I didn't care for the pulled pork; it just had a different taste to it that I didn't care for. The staff was very nice.

First time there. Bad service. Had to ask several times for refills for drinks. Took long time for our food. They brought out 2 people's side dishes about 20 minutes before we got our main food. One lady didn't get her chicken sandwich (all she ordered) until 15 minutes after everyone else received their food. We had to ask for the baked potato that was never brought out.I can say the side dishes were wonderful. 2 of us got the bbq pork, neither of us liked it at all. 1 got the brisket, did not like it. I haven't looked at any reviews but sorry to say we will not go back. 1 said the ribs were good.

We typically order to go… something has been missing from our order the last few times we’ve ordered. This time: macaroni salad, slaw, ranch (with the fried pickles) and no bbq sauce. I know places are short staffed and we are understanding of that but it just takes a few seconds to make sure someone’s order is ready/complete before giving it to them… Adding: pickles weren’t done and we paid $3 for an order of tater tots that were barely a child’s serving.

Servers here treat you like family. Love their bbq chicken.

I don't even feel comfortable giving a 1 star rating. This was the WORST place I've ever eaten! Food floats in grease. Hush puppies fall apart when you touch them. I'm not real sure the pork is actual pork. Our grandbaby ordered a corn dog and it was still cold on the inside. I ordered Maryland crab cakes and I got greasy, deep fried artificial crab which the waitress said comes frozen in a box. I sent them back. At least we'll have this to look back on and laugh at.

Advoid at all cost. This is the worst food I've had in TN. They got my order wrong 3 times, the pulled pork was drenched in grease with a sauce that taste like canned beanie weenies. The brisket was almost tasteless cut thin like bacon and very dry.

Great food. BBQ is great. 3 different kinds of BBQ sauces. Fries were awesome. Big portions. You won't leave hungry. Waitress was outstanding.

I must say I was so happy to hear Pardners had reopened under new management......but I will have to say I was so disappointed in the waitress we had, she practically tried to run us off......kept telling us it would be 11/2 hours before our food could be done.....we figured it would be worth the wait....wrong......thank God I had the fish meal, never in my life have I eaten in a place and I got the bill for the food first thing.......even before our food was brought to the table.....the beans nor the barbeque is the same......it is no where close, and they are saying it is a family recipe......somebody in the family must have lied to the new owners cause it is no where close......the sauce is not what the old pardners had......I probably will not go back there to eat, may go back and try the breakfast, I know the lady that cooks the breakfast menu......and she is good......I hope the new owners does something about their wait staff.....the girl that waited on us told us she had worked with the old pardners for 27 years....not.....I have never seen her there before.......after telling us this and saying they had the same cooks that was with the old pardners......came back and told me that they could not do the blooming onion cause the cook did not know how to mix the batter ......really........so no blooming onion either.......get the picture.....our waitress kept running outside to smoke and talk to everybody outside the building.......I just hope the new owners can work all this out because I really loved to go there before.......I want it to do well........

The pancakes on Easter tasted like they had used hush puppy batter and were not brown. McDonald’s hotcakes are much better. Will not recommend for breakfast. Thank goodness waitress didn’t charge for nasty pancakes

Not the best meal I every had. Baked potato was cold, rolls were straight out of the bag,the ribs were big bones with fat all over them, and what I could eat was way to spicy.wont be back

This has always been my favorite place to eat. So I was excited when it reopened. The newspaper article said the food would be the same, it isn’t....I can open a can of beans and put barbecue sauce and very few onions in it and stay home☹️The beef was fatty, the sauce tastes different, it was all COLD...The Sprite was flat. The service was bad and one of the owners didn’t care. I came Home 2 days early from a vacation to eat here with my family and it was so bad. Very disappointed.

I love Pardners. We were there this evening and the electricity went off right after we got our drinks. They quickly took our order while the grill was still hot and using flashlights managed to fix my husband's hotdogs and French fries, and my baked potato. The food was great and they laughed and joked and apologized for the electricity being out which of course they had no control over. The waitress was great and they just all made the best out of a difficult situation. One of our very favorite places to eat in the area.

Best barbeque and bbq beans are just as delish! Fast friendly service and the best sweet tea in Tennessee. A great deal for the meal which is reasonably priced.

Waited for 20 min for drinks and then when 45 minutes had gone by we asked the manager about our food . He didn’t apologize he said the food was rang up 30 minutes ago and that they were just starting on it. Then he told us to get out. Horrible customer service . Will tell everyone I know about my experience . Do not eat here !!!!! Management needs training .

Nov 6 2016. Absolutely horrible! Took over an hour to get food. 40 mins after app was finished to get meal and then child's hot dog looked like it had leprosy even the bun had been burnt. Food was horrible. We had to say to Hell with it and went to Pals. Sad part is I loved this place but it was so bad today I probably won't be back.

Best beef BBQ sandwich I've ever eaten and that says alot!

When we drive through Johnson city this is our first stop for brisket and bbq. Not your traditional pulled pork but sliced with the perfect amount of smoke!!! see you next time !!

I would most definitely go to pardners over any other BBQ. Hands Down the best around. I'm glade the place is back open and is better then ever

Surprised to see so many bad reviews. I have always loved Pardners, and due to the sharp decline of the quality at Ridgewood, Pardners has become my go-to bbq spot. My favorite is the grilled chicken breast. It reminds me of the grilled chicken breast at Carrabas

Ignore the bad reviews. I lived in pine flats for about 19 years so needless to say I've eaten here for years. Hundreds of times. I'd say 9/10 meals there are good service and food quality. Their BBQ is pretty good. A step or two below Ridgewood but it's definitely not "lunch meat" as one other user claimed. People who say worst food ever should stop posting reviews because that's ridiculous to say about anything. If you only went once and didnt care for it, give it a second go and see if the service and food is better before making a final judgment.

Most of the burger was onion they forgot the bacon it only gets worse the experience here...

Worst food ever. Stopped on a Sunday for supposed barbecue. Turned out to be crappy lunchmeat. Service was unfriendly and the food inedible. If you are travelling and want to stop for Q, avoid this mess.

It is Called Pardner's Bar-B-Que for a Reason. I have been eating at Pardner's for a couple of decades. Over these years, I have had the following: Pork (in sandwich form), slaw (always on the sandwich), fries, beans and tea. The sandwich arrives piled high with sliced, smoked pork. Fries are skin-on and cut on premise. A side covers a dinner plate. Beans are always good and my tea glass is never empty. The sauce ranks in my top 3. Prices are fair. If you want a great pork sandwich with all the trimmings, seat yourself and place your order. If you are looking for something else, keep looking.

Wow! What bad reviews!. It's a shame because I went there 15-yrs ago and loved the sauce so much I ordered 6 half-gallons of it to be shipped to me. I'm from San Diego, CA. and, as far as I am concerned, California does not have as good a BBQ sauce as our southern states. I'm visiting in Virginia and HAD made plans to travel an extra 400 miles out of my way to buy some more, but reading all the BAD reviews, I think I won't. It's really too bad because I honestly thought it was good.

Bar B Q is simply the best. We drive from kingsport about twice a month for it. wish they were still back here.

Pure rubbish. F@#% me, this is the worst rubbish Ive ever seen served at a restaurant. I wouldnt feed the ribs to the neighbor's dog, and the prices are just criminal. I felt like Id been beaten over the head and had my money taken, not to mention kicked in the stomach after a few bites of the food. The fries the dreadful as well. How can they live with themselves for serving this s@#%? The chefs have clearly lost all their passion, and theyre simply lying to themselves if they think this food was good. It offends me they can get away with serving crap like this. Ive seen a baby's diaper look more appetizing, and those ribs were hard as a rock (not to mention the sauce was just plain bad, comparing it to McDonalds is putting it mildly). These chefs need their bloody a$$es kicked, and the owners should be thrown in jail. Even the wait staff seemed to be going through the motions. If you eat at this place, dont say I didnt warn you. Ive never believed in a restaurant less than I believe in this one.

So sorry I stopped there.. I have never given a review before but my lunch was so bad and expensive. If I can save one person from wasting their money and time it will be worth it. First off if you get a sandwich NOTHING comes with it. For that amount of money can't you part with an old fry or two? Until today I didn't think you could mess up coleslaw but this place manages to do it. The bar-b-que tasted like it was made from old boar meat. The onion rings were straight out of a freezer bag. However I do have a few good things to report. The loaded baked potato my husband had was good as well as our server. We will never be back. Sorry. Please go to Phil's Dream Pit it is wonderful.

Worst beef BBQ in area. Not brisket. Pork was old tasting,French fries soggy with oil. Cole slaw tasted like refrigerator one good item was the baked beans. Will not go back.

New Menu prices?. Do you have a new menu with new prices? Can you change it on urbanspoon as the one you have has not been updated since 2010.
Thank you!

Ham streak was like cardboard- we sent it back. Pulled pork was terrible. The fried pickles were descent, not greasy at all, but the Ranch dipping sauce was as thin as water. Place was grungy. Will never go back.

This morning I called them to order breakfast at 6:50 and didn't realize they opened at 7. The lady who answered said: you realize we don't open until seven? I apologized and said no I didn't realize. She said yes we open at seven an I said I wouldn't pick up until after seven and had to call back at seven to place order. Wow! I don't call back not did I order.

Turrible. Went to this place on a Fri night in March 2013 and the food was absolutely terrible. The place was packed (go figure) but the service was lousy and the prices were criminal. The ribs I got were so tough I could hardly cut them, and the sauce is absolutely awful. I dont think Ive ever had ribs that bad. I just dont know how anyone can say this place is good. The people who own it need to be locked away for what they are serving up and the prices they are charging. Also, the customers must be drinking some kind of Jim Jones Kool Aid to keep coming back to that hell hole.

BBQ for breakfast???. We were in Johnson City for the weekend and drove up to see the track in Bristol... we had not had breakfast and passed by to see a full parking lot. we turned around because I was really hoping to have bbq for breakfast... Well, no bbq on the menu but I had the tenderloin which just fell apart when you touched it with a fork. everything else was your basic breakfast joint, hashbrowns, eggs, toast... fast friendly service

Awful. If you like shoe leather with molasses pour over it, then eat here. This had no resemblance to any Bar-B-Que I've ever eaten. Will never stop here again.

Great food! All barbecue is hickory smoked in house, yes every bit of it, without that junk called liquid smoke that Ridgewood uses! The only thing Ridgewood is better at is shutting the door in your face, being rude as hell, and charging you nearly double! I recall a segment on the Today show where a Food Network chef went to Ridgewood and they had just closed and wouldn't let him in, so he came to Pardner's. It was the rescue chef. Talk about bad national publicity! Also, just another perk, the family that owns and operates this establishment are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Ridge what barbecue?!?!?
Scott
Decent BBQ sandwiches. . But a great BBQ place is judged by it's ribs and these are terrible.
Sandy
My family and I really enjoy this. We drive from Kingsport to eat here because it beats the places in Kingsport for barbecue sandwiches. I like that the sauce is already on the meat and you can add more if desired. It gives it a much better flavor.

Tasteless. Seems like a good hangout for lunch for workers, and the servers are very nice. Unfortunately, the BBQ and beans are plain Jane. Not much of a taste. Fries are very, very good. Not even in the same ballpark as Ridgewood or Phil's, which clearly have set a high bar and are just tough to compete with. And man, it takes forever to get your food. The other drag is it's located by those ridiculous speed cameras. That alone is bad for business. Big brother is always watching.

McDonald's Version of BBQ. I ate here yesterday with my father, step-mother, and sister.

I ordered the BBQ beef dinner with mashed potatoes w/ gravy and BBQ beans. The beef seemed to be some sort of a pre-sliced, dehydrated, gritty meat product saturated in a horribly unremarkable attempt at a BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes were close to flavorless, and the BBQ beans were...well, not what I would call BBQ beans. They were pretty bad. After a couple of bites, I had enough. $12-13 for this experience? I should file suit, especially considering the misleading signage outside and the evening's discomfort after.

My sister took one small bite of her BBQ pork sandwich, and didn't touch it again.

The burgers ordered by my dad and step-mother seemed to be OK, but it's pretty difficult for even the worst restaurants to screw up a burger and fries.

If you're looking for BBQ in the tri-cities area, pass up the easily accessible Pardner's for REAL BBQ at Ridgewood just a couple of miles away. Yes, Ridgewood is maybe a half-mile off the beaten path. Yes, due to their popularity, the have limited parking and usually a wait, but the slight inconvenience is SO worth it.
