We had a date night. This is a very pricey steak house. But service and manager were on point. Never had to ask for anything and was will to accommodate any need. We both got steaks, cooked to perfection, as well as being very large and in charge portion. Sides are family style we got the loaded mashed potatoes they were also very good. We did not save room for dessert.
Staff were great. The food was amazing. Had the lobster done like escargot, the 8oz Big Ben Oscar style and the brussel sprouts with bacon marmalade. I couldn't have asked for a better last night it Pittsburgh. I will be back again forsure.
All I can say is WOW! Food was amazing which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Manager Kylie came to our table and not only checked on us but had a conversation with us. I will eat here everytime I'm in the burg.
We came here for our 5 year anniversary. Great food. We both got steaks. The steaks were both incredible! I would give the main courses a 5 star and the sides a 4, they were still good. Their service was incredible! Always had someone making sure everything was as good as we expected it to be. And the dessert was fantastic. Would definitely come back.
Went here to start an after Christmas tradition. Food was really good, steaks came out done to order, the only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is the service. When the staff came around they were very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. However it took at least 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were seated, then there was a good 10 minutes between visits after that. Dinner for 4 took almost 2 full hrs. We did notice that the tables around us seemed to get much more attention. For close to 100 dollars a person I expected more attentive service. It didn't seem that the restaurant was very busy, however they were out of the popular items.
My wife and I were in Pittsburgh for the Green Bay game and decided to try this place. We didn't have reservations and it was a Saturday night, they still managed to get us seated in a reasonable time. The table location wasn't great as it was next to the door, small, and the chair was fairly uncomfortable.
Don't let that deter you. The service is top notch and the food was delicious. My wife is a vegetarian, but even she thought her for was wonderful. I had the Hines Ward, which is a filet mignon in a Cabernet sauce. I'm telling you, it was the best steak I've had in my life. It was so flavorful and tender, I can barely put it into words. My wife ordered the Caesar salad and french onion soup and she enjoyed it. We also got a side of mac and cheese, which was the only negative food piece, it just was lacking the... cheese.
We ordered dessert. She got the creme brulee and I had the colossal red velvet. Both were an explosion in the mouth. The red velvet cake... Plan for a box.
It's pricey, but it's worth every penny. I can't wait to visit Pittsburgh again just for this place.
Food was delicious. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. The colossal carrot cake was delicious as well. Definitely enough to feed 4 to 5 people. Service was phenomenal.
I went to Hyde Park for a special occasion. Of Course, it's designed for that. I think we got the new server on their first day after training. It was a Tuesday so it wasn't busy at all. I think we also got the grill chef on their first day too. Neither of the steaks came out the way they were ordered. Apps came out over cooked as well. They brought in a special closer server to help with whatever was happening that night. In the end all was well enough, and the guest of honor was fairly satisfied. Everyone should check it out. You can just go for yourself!

The waitress was a little informal for such a nice restaurant. However, you get a Hallmark-style card celebrating your event (if you go on a special occasion). The appetizer was great. Drinks were decadent and the presentations were spot on. Steaks were delicious. I highly recommend the lobster mac & cheese and do NOT leave without having dessert!!
We had our anniversary dinner here and everything was fantastic. Great service, they really made our meal special. The food was incredible. The boutique dining experience of the Japanese Wagyu A5 is hard to beat. Hyde park never disappoints.
We made a reservations last year before a Steelers game (Xmas Eve). Service was really good, nice location. We enjoyed ourselves and ate a good meal with friends.
Our server was excellent!!! Peter was attentive, fun to talk to, and made GREAT recommendations! Definitely ask for him, he will treat you wonderfully. The steaks were cooked perfectly, nice sear on outside and tender inside, and a good quality and flavor. The desserts were rich, the sides were a good portion and cooked perfect. We had a great time!! Definitely worth it fir your birthday, anniversary or holiday dinner!!
Had dinner here 11/6 for my fiance Birthday . The service was absolutely wonderful. They brought him a desert and a happy birthday card to celebrate his 32nd.....The food was Cooked perfectly. They even called me the next day to ensure we had a good time dining there . I 100% recommend this restaurant
The scallops with lump crab in a beurre blanc sauce might be the best thing I've ever had at a restaurant. We eat out frequently..all over the world. This dish was stellar. Great restaurant! Always..but..wow!
The bar is full.of characters on game day. Food was fantastic, except for lobster mac and cheese was dry. Service staff changed which led to a bit of confusion but great overall. It was like dinner and a show.
I had been here before and had a regular prime striploin. It was perfectly decent - tasty and cooked nicely. I would have given them 4 stars based on that. However, I just went back there last week and had the 22 oz dry-aged porterhouse. To get to the point, it was freaking awesome - 100% absolutely 5 stars! The manager actually came by while I was eating to make sure everything was ok and I appreciate the gesture but I told him I didn't want to talk - I was too busy enjoying the steak. I hope I didn't offend him...
The photo is actually from the last time I went to Hyde Park and ordered the same steak. It may have been even better than in the original review.
My husband and I had a reservation to celebrate his 30th birthday and we had the best time. Our servers, Jamie and Linda (I think), we’re phenomenal! They checked on us frequently and had kind manners and perfect small talk! The manager, Kylie, was wonderful to speak with and super friendly! They had wait staff sign a card for my husband and brought him a special treat for his birthday at no cost and without us asking! Highly recommend for a special evening out with friends or family!
My wife and I loved this restaurant. First, the service was amazing. Cristian our waiter, was great. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. This was our first time in Pittsburgh and Cristian was more than willing to give us recommendations on where to visit while in Pittsburg. The food was amazing, my wife and I loved our steak.
