We wanted to experience this landmark and see if these sandwiches lived up to the hype. I loved the Capicola. You have to order it as is...delicious. We also ordered the Pastrami which was equally good. The Smallman street fries were a little bit of let down though.
Lives up to its reputation. Very cool sandwich concept that still works after 80 years. In our pics you can see how we each chose a different protein, split our sandwiches in four and tried it all. Favorite overall was the pastrami - perfect complement to the slaw and sauce. Really fun place.
Friendly and welcoming staff once you come into the door and sit. The food is appetizing with the fries inside the burger. I will highly recommend to visit this restaurant especially if it is your first time in Pittsburgh.
The place looked like I was expecting a 90 year old would be... I was there for that experience and I was happy! I made a trip to this original location in spite of having one of their branches pretty close to my hotel.
As far as the food is concerned, it was more fun than tasting good. Serving the
The chain is highly recommended and with good cause. Sandwiches are AMAZING! Wide range of choices. The location we visited was near The Strip which was intresting. This was also the original location. Photos are interesting. My negative reaction was that restrooms are downstairs and I have bad k
The original Primanti Brothers Restaurant still gets it done in true Pittsburgh style. We enjoyed their iconic overstuffed sandwiches. I recommend pairing your meal with the Less Famous Red Ale. Save time for a casual stroll along the "strip" with all of its eye catching wares.
Love this old school sandwich spot. Have made a 5 hour one way drive a few times over the years to enjoy their sandwiches. Have ate at a few other of their locations but there’s nothing like the original.
We had Pastrami and cheese with all the fixings, a double meat bologna and cheese with all the
Cool place, I went on a Saturday night before a Penguins game so this location was packed and had a pretty long line outside. It was worth the wait, once inside the atmosphere is really cool and you’re not crowded or uncomfortable. Food is pretty good, but not crazy good as I sort of expected. Seems
So tasty! Ask about the sauces... they have a horseradish mayo, a spicy mustard, and maybe one more. If you don't know and don't ask, they won't tell you. Sauces are not on the menu for some reason. Even without sauce, the sandwiches were great! Pic is of a double meat pastrami.
Absolutely awesome place! Lefty and Pieruo were hilarious and welcoming! Food was delicious and atmosphere was enjoyable to say the least. The experience was memorable and will always come back when in town.
