I seriously cannot say enough good things about dinner here. Everything was delicious, portions are substantial, and the server was so friendly and prompt. The only criticism I possibly have is that the seating is tight and you will be close to your neighbors. Other than that, make the reservation and be prepared to be delighted. We will be back!

Amazing food and great service. We had the tomahawk steak for 2 with truffle fries. Ask for truffle butter to go with the steak and you won’t be disappointed. Also the chocolate mousse ❤️❤️ super delicious.

Definitely worth a stop (or reservation because this place STAYS packed) if you're in the mood to try some new and old dishes. Finally got a Beef Wellington in Pittsburgh that was excellently executed with carrots on the side to die for! The filet was melt-in-your-mouth delectable and the pastry was baked and finished perfectly. We also got the rolls and bone marrow for starters. The jam with the rolls was a total surprise and complimented the bread very well. The bone marrow was like butter and that alone will be a reason to revisit this restaurant. Andrew was an exceptional part of the wait staff and made our anniversary experience even better. Also recommend the coconut cream cake! Yummy! Excellent food, excellent service and an excellent time. Just stay away from the Old Smokey drink... It's literal gasoline!

Service and staff are wonderful. The Mac n cheese and carpaccio were decent, but nothing to write about. However!! I got the beef Wellington and wow it blew me out of the water!! Easily as good as Gordon Ramsay’s from Hell’s Kitchen that I had.

Great place for a fabulous steak and a drink after a ballgame or the theater. My filet mignon with blue cheese was outstanding. The sweet potato starter (first parboiled, then fried) was amazing. And the service is top notch.

I came here to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and we both love it! The food was amazing, especially the curry mussels! The steak with truffle fries was great as well. We will definitely come again to try other things on the menu.

As the first time my wife and I visited was five years ago and they’ve changed some things since then this was more like a first visit. We were welcomed by friendly greeters and promptly seated. Our waiter arrived, welcomed us as well, and provided spectacular service from that point on. Having looked at the menu before our visit we already knew what we wanted, Welsh rarebit as our starter and Beef Wellington for our main. Both of these choices were miles beyond our expectations and it will be hard to stray from them for any future visits. To cap off the dinner we had Pots de Creme for dessert. The total experience and food were well worth the price.

This was my first experience with this restaurant. It was a beautiful place, though I have to admit the seating was a little inconvenient. The tables for two were mere inches away from other tables, and one party would share a bench seat with others. I've seen this arrangement in other restaurants, just never quite as tightly together. The atmosphere was still pleasant, ant the service was good. We decided on the Beef Wellington for Two, which came with a hefty price tag of $114. We were told it would take an hour to prepare and we were absolutely fine with this, we were (as stated) pleased with the atmosphere, and I had a couple of cocktails. My favorite of the evening was their tropical take on a gin and tonic, highly recommended. We also had the Foie Gras, and that was absolutely incredible. When our main course arrived, it looked beautiful, but surprising. It was the same price range (perhaps $10 less) as a giant Tomahawk steak for two) and yet it was a small serving of beef wellington. Yes, it's what we ordered, of course, but when a couple orders "Beef Wellington for Two" one expects, I suppose, something other than a typical plate of food. Maybe the intact wellington? I don't know what we were expecting and it was perhaps on us for not asking, but we were a little disappointed with the presentation. We had high hopes for flavor! I did want to like it, but the pastry crust had a slightly burned taste to it. The steak, though it was perfectly cooked, was somehow somewhat flavorless. There seemed to be a lack of seasoning through the whole of it. I WILL say that the vegetables served with it were absolutely divine and I'd go back simply to have those. Am I unhappy with my experience? Not at all. Would I get the wellington again? Nope! I'd like to go again and try something different and see if that was simply an off night. (To add: they do not validate parking for the garage, for those looking for that information.)

Wow! Exceptional meal. The mussels were a 10/10. I would come back just for that. The pastrami belly in the pub burger was delicious. Cool vibe. Probably one of the better restaurants I’ve tried in Pittsburgh in a while.

Nestled inside a theater and cramped, this is a bit of a throwback restaurant. The name gives a good indication of what they specialize in. If you want creativity, look elsewhere. On the other hand, they do a good job within their limits. Very pricey for what you are getting though.

What a wonderful place! I got Wagyu carpaccio for the appetizer and it was amazing. I liked the vibe and the wine suggestion by the bar tender was great, he also made Ramos gin Fizz for us, a favorite cocktail of mine.

My husband and I made a reservation on OpenTable (highly recommend) for 05/17/2023. They are currently doing some renovations. The inside of Meat & Potatoes is really cool, and different than your typical restaurant. The bar is the focal point right in the center, and it's decorated very beautifully. The dining area is on the smaller side and is quite intimate. The restaurant seems geared toward singles/dates, and probably not best for a large group. Service was great and the servers (there were multiple) were very attentive. Food review: - Waygu Carpaccio | Rating 10/10: absolutely fabulous. It was on the spicier side but very flavorful. Great starter portion for 2-4 and was just very tastefully made. - Steak Frites | Rating 7/10: the steak itself was VERY chewy and hard to cut. The plate it was served on had edges and there wasn't a ton of room to cut the steak with the mountain of fries also on the plate. While the steak was chewy, the butter on top was to die for, as well as the sauce for the fries. The fries were delicious as well, very well fried and had great flavor. - Filet Mignon | Rating 8/10: my husband raved about the steak. He said the flavor was out of this world with the sauce, and it was cooked beautifully. The disappointing part was the duck fat roasted potatoes. They lacked flavor and just missed the mark. Drink review: - We had ordered 2 Sgt. Pepper's Old Fashioned, 1 Root to Berry, and 1 Cosmo (not on the menu). All of the drinks we'd give about a 7/10. The Root to Berry was super tart and the Cosmo was just ok, nothing to brag about. My husband said both Old Fashioned drinks were good but again, nothing stood out. Overall, we'd recommend Meat & Potatoes. We did spend about $100 per person, so it is pricey depending on what you order. The ambiance and service was great and the food was good, we hope to give it another shot (and their other restaurants they're affiliated with)!

The hosts who welcomed us were really nice (2 ladies). The waiter was a bit cold, also didn't check on us regularly during dinner. The 50oz tomahawk definitely didn't have as much meat as I thought (the main weight was the bones), but the quality and flavor is decent. Overall a nice dining experience.

Great French bistro type restaurant in Pittsburgh. Excellent steak and peppercorn sauce. The fries are great also.

Really liked the atmosphere of this place! Very calm and relaxing vibes, and even though the dining area is on the smaller side, you’re still able to enjoy your meal in privacy. The greeter was so beyond sweet and the food was really good. Definitely want to come back and try the bone marrow!

We had several great brunches here. I've never been here for dinner. The bloody Mary bar is fantastic. Other cocktail here are great too. Reservations are a good idea. Beef wellington is beyond savory. Service is just amazing.
