We went over their for brunch. We were so lucky that they had a table for us. The restaurant was packed, with that situation we thought we should wait a lot for our food, but shockingly they brought our food after 15 minutes. The smell, taste, presentation of the foods were excellent. We really enjoyed our time and food there. Highly recommended. I got quiche which is the best I’ve ever had. 🥰 Looking forward to going again 😋🤤

This is an incredible restaurant. The scallops were incredible. They were so smooth and flavorful. The mussels were enormous and tasty. The beef loin was very good, as were the accompanying bean medley and cornbread. Even the goat butter they brought for the bread was excellent. Everything is so good here. Acorn is the best restaurant I have visited in my few trips to Pittsburgh.

As quarantine stipulations become more relaxed my friend and I decided to visit Acorn because of the stellar reviews and photos of some phenomenal looking pancakes. We checked the hours, we painstakingly agonized over what day to go and finally made reservations. We arrived early and sat on the bench outside in anticipation. Well Acorn did not disappoint. The restaurant far exceeded our expectations. The waitstaff, food and drinks were above standard. The mock tails were delicious. The portions of food were huge and tasty. Bring your appetite. Those pancakes taste as scrumptious as they look. Our waiter was fun and engaging, yet not intrusive. The interior has a quaint, cabin-like, touch of old farmhouse vibe which is unique considering the hustle and bustle going on outside. Regrettably we had no room for dessert but that just gives us an excuse to return. Highly recommended.

Lovely place for brunch. We had the fish taco 🌮 , burger 🍔, salad 🥗 & bagel 🥯 all were very nicely filled with flavors. Only challenge is that it can be busy on weekends. Super friendly staff, thank you all

Absolutely astounding. Hands down the best meal I've had in a long time. Every dish we ordered and every cocktail was perfectly made. A stunning and perfect combination of tastes and texture in every bite and sip. The chef is simply superb, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff is wonderful. One of my absolute favorite places in the whole city. GO. HERE.

Reasonably priced high-end restaurant with kind staff, comfortable seating, and yummy dishes. My bf and I went for brunch but didn't have a reso, so we sat at the bar. The bartender was sweet, fast, and accommodating. We had our food out in 15 minutes; my fish tacos were great, with a nicely sized side salad. My bf loved his vegetable frittata and side of roasted potatoes. Will be back to this gem!

My first time here, but will definitely visit again. I had pasta and I really enjoyed the unique taste of it, very flavorful. I should say they don't have many options for their entrées, however they update their menu frequently. The drink menu was very sophisticated and diverse. You won't be disappointed. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. Overall a good experience...

We went for brunch. Celebrating a birthday. We ordered chilequile, a quiche and some classic eggs + potatoes combo. Everything was delicious. I requested to bring in one of their desserts while reserving and they accommodated the request. The carrot cake was SO good! Real showstopper was the frosting. One of the best ones I had so far. It wasn’t too sweet, just the right amount. Do yourself a favor and order the carrot cake! We were visiting Pittsburgh, we will def visit again once we are back! Highly recommend this place

Chef knows what they’re doing here! Octopus, cucumber appetizers with salmon and ribeye entrées. Delicious butter corn sauce with the salmon and chipotle flavored sauce with the ribeye 😋

Excellent well crafted food! Enjoyed all the amazing flavors. They need an Espresso machine however! Clam chowder and carrot cake were out of this world. 5 stars.

Definitely a nice spot for dinner. A small but focused menu promises perfect dishes. We will definitely keep checking the menu to see if the changing season brings new options.

Our experience at Acorn was overall very positive! I ordered a Pimms Perfect Summer cocktail to start off and it was the perfect amount of sweetness while being refreshing. We started with the Oysters as our appetizers and boy they were delicious, slightly spicy and full of savory umami (plus points for the presentation, it's pretty cool how the steam comes out of the seaweed). We ordered the Lamb and the Rigatoni and we were impressed by both. The lamb was tender and cooked perfectly. The Rigatoni had home made pasta and had a pickle like flavor which was refreshing and interesting. We ended with the Lemon desert, and the ice cream was creamy and the pound cake was warm and flavorful. There was no dish where we felt like it was out of place or mediocre. Everything was so good!

Came here with a group, and although the vegan options are sparse (I think like none of the entrees are vegan, but three of the apps are/can be vegan? Beets, cauliflower, and brussels although double check the brussels because there was a white sauce/cheese underneath the brussels layer), they're quite taste and filling IMO. I love that the "window" to the street is just open air---helps because not everyone in our party is particularly comfortable sitting indoors but we got the table right by the "window" with fresh air breezing in. The brussels were super crispy, the cauliflower was really tasty, and the other items everyone else got seemed great including the steaks and some pasta looking dish and beignets for dessert. It's a pretty expensive place per person (lol except maybe me with my app as my meal) so it's probably good if you're looking for a fine dining option that's not uppity but like you should spend a good bit to impress and the guest of honor doesn't have dietary restrictions. Pictured are the mussels the group ate and the roasted cauliflower dish I had.

First time at Acorn, one of the better dinners I have had in Shadyside and Pittsburgh in general. The Brussels sprouts, the pork chop, and the potatoes are absolutely delicious. We also got the beignets, which I think might be the first time I have ever had one and it might be one of my favorite desserts now. We also got the cauliflower which was fine but I’d just stick to the Brussels if your going to pick one app. It was decorated very nicely for Christmas and has a very nice atmosphere as well. We will definitely be going back!

Delicious food, great service. The beignets and sauces that came with them were a perfect starter for our brunch. They were also accommodating to the changes I wanted to make to the meal I ordered. Would for sure come back!

Acorn has great atmosphere that leads you deep into the fresh menu. The wide selection of food will satisfy any pallet from meat to fish. The goat bread and butter was exceptional. The charcuterie Board is a meal in and of itself. The half duck was rich and delicious. I don't t like Brussel Sprouts but the rest of the party thoroughly enjoyed them.
