We were in town visiting relatives for Thanksgiving and we were looking for a place to eat breakfast and my daughter recommended Geppetto Cafe. What a great experience. Very eclectic decorations--hanging books above the tables, exposed walls painted white, and other items with an industrial feel to it. The restaurant is thin up front and opens in the back a bit. Our waiter said the weekends are really packed, so plan accordingly.
Their menu is perfect if you like a nice variety. There are savory and sweet crepes as well as paninis. While we did not try it, they also have a wide variety of coffee drinks and gelato for dessert.
We tried two different savory crepes, the Ham & Cheese and the Love Hate Thing. The Ham and cheese, well it had both on it, served with gruyere cheese and a honey aioli. We added spinach (and they have tons of other choices you an add to any dish or create your own crepe from scratch).
The Love and Hate Thing crepe was smoked turkey, goat cheese and avocado with a Béchamel sauce (Béchamel sauce, also known as white sauce, is made from a white roux and milk.)
Of the two dishes, I have to say that I liked the Ham & Cheese better because of the combination of flavors. We went the Sunday after Thanksgiving so I might just have been tired for turkey, but I think the goat cheese was a bit overwhelming.
All the savory crepes are served with a side salad which was also yummy. All table are provided a free bottle of water, other drinks including the aforementioned coffee cost money.
I can't wait to get back to the Burgh to visit this place again. There are a ton of other crepes to try and maybe a few paninis too.
I had what was the best waffle I have ever eaten yesterday. Perfection! The cafe is super cute and staff is really nice. This place may become my favorite breakfast spot!
We love this place. The crepes, both the sweet and savory, are soo good. I had the very berry with Nutella & it was covered with fresh berries & decorated with whipped cream💕😜!! My husband had the ‘Italian Job’ crepe with spinach, fresh mozzarella & pesto. It’s his favorite thing on the menu! Coffee was excellent, too!
The service here is fantastic and the food is even better! Every crepe I've eaten has been absolutely delicious. Both the sweet and savory crepes are the best I've had.
Geppetto Cafe is AMAZING! I had the Bonjour. Holy moley- I didn’t know it was possible for eggs, Brie, bacon, a crepe, and fruit to be so good. Oh, and the oolong (from the tea shop next door) was excellent. As a bonus, the vibe is absolutely adorable. :)
Cutest place serving a scrumptious breakfast! Hard to get a seat, but worth it if you do!
My husband and I visit every time we're in Pittsburgh. We highly recommend it to everyone we come in contact with. I am a member of a Steelers fan group and recommend fans visit if they're in town for a game. We love the food and the atmosphere!
Just went for the second time! Didn’t disappoint. Great little shop with AMAZING food & service

Everything we have had here is amazing! Who knew crepes could have so much flavor?!?! The only drawback is that they don't open until 9am!

Great food. Great service... And a awesome place to have breakfast!!!
The environment was rustic and absolutely beautiful! The service was very fast and the employees were so kind. The raspberry and goat cheese french toast is definitely worth trying.
I have been here 5x already and always great food and service. Love the vibe there, too. I highly recommend
Cool little spot! Had an incredible breakfast! Service was excellent as well!
Last Sunday was my 3rd time and it was just as amazing as the first time! I haven't ventured away from the crepes yet because they are so amazing I can't bring myself to not have one! Adorable and unique atmosphere, great service and just an overall amazing place!
Great ambiance, good service and crepes were delicious! So good, it got our repeat business. Highly recommend.
The best breakfast in the burgh!!
Amazing crepes! Worth the drive to Pittsburgh just for this breakfast.
I came to Geppetto Cafe on a Thursday for lunch. The place was half empty and I was told I could sit anywhere. It was my first time here and seeing the back patio open I sat outside. I waited for 15-20 minutes and when no one came I went inside to ask if I needed to order inside. The server was talking with the girl at the counter and when he saw me he said that the patio was closed so I moved inside. It took him another 10 minutes to come get the order but after that service was pretty fast but awkward even if I tried to smile and make them understand that I was ok. Until I left though the server never returned one of.my smile and was in fact pretty closed off even when I complemented the food.
Anyways the Prosciutto crepe was good filling, and the cappuccino was delicious. Prices are also very good. The place is quirky and well kept.
I recommend Geppetto Cafe and I'll return. Hopefully the service will be a bit better and more organized next time.
What a nice place!!! Food was amazing! Best French toast I've had in a long while. My crepe was flavorful and fresh. The brie with egg filling was balanced so beautifully. The bacon was soft. I like it a little crispy. The fruit was sweet, even the cantaloupe, which is rare. (Lol)
Fresh whipped cream and topped with cinnamon sugar was perfect.
I wish there were more pork alternatives than pork, but the other items were absolutely delicious.
Well done!!!
Lovely place, I had a French Toast that had me plenty satisfied throughout the day.
Very sweet and filling.
Tea was good too.
The restaurant was amazing. The food was delicious and very creative!. I rarely go to a place and i feel like I'm eating everything for the first time.
The staff were really nice and friendly. The food service was fast and efficient.
I highly recommend this place. It's one of the best.
The wait on Sunday brunch time was not bad at all, 10-15 minutes. The chai latte was really good, on the sweet side if that’s what you like. I ordered a strawberry banana crepe with cream cheese glaze. The crepe itself was really good and dense and I loved the cream cheese because they put cinnamon in it. I would come back!
The food here was really great. I just think the service was a bit slow. It was a bit busy when I came with friends but still the waitress didn’t really check in and didn’t really ask if we needed more water or napkins like I thought they would. But despite that I would go again if I were in town.
First time visiting, went on a Saturday for brunch with my business partner and we loved the vintage feel and unique art. Our server was fairly new so she did make a few errors on our order but eventually got it right for the kitchen and the kitchen got it right for me. I created my own savory waffle, loaded with spinach, mushroom, onion and pesto basil. It was paired with a mix green salad and a side of egg, absolutely delicious. I also had a hot chocolate with Nutella, it was so rich and creamy, looking forward to introducing more friends to their menu.
This place is small but makes up for it with BIG flavors and friendly staff. Crepes, French Toast, Waffles etc with a gourmet twist that will have your taste buds singing. Pair it with a Chai Latte like I did or a host of beverages that's makes this heaven. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place for Sunday Brunch this is the perfect place.
This place is a must stop. Whether it’s the coffee or the crepes, or a full brunch dish (my personal favorite). You cannot go wrong. The sweet and savory crepes were all made to perfection, even if you’re not hungry. Order one. Just do it.
Great spot to go with some friends or maybe for a coffee date. All three of our orders were delicious. I left the city, and I can’t wait to go back!
The staff was really nice and friendly, and the space is aesthetically pleasing and deserves the appreciation for their decor. Subtle and classy.
The atmosphere itself was good. We had a large party so the wait was long, we had to wait an additional 20 mins. My panni was very disappointing, the flavor was greatly lacking. The best part of the meal was the side salad. The champagne vinegrette dressing was delicious. I didn't even finish the sandwich.
This was our first visit to the Cafe and we loved it! The atmosphere, service, and especially the food are wonderful! I would highly recommend stopping in for a crepe or anything else on the menu. We will definitely be back!
If you have a sweet tooth this is the BEST place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. While visiting town I found this hidden gem and stooped by for lunch. All the ladies were really welcoming and nice. It wasn’t busy so service was great and fast and I had great luck and got a street parking spot right out front.
I had their AMAZING & DELICIOUS “Nutella classic” crepes with banana and strawberries with Nutella on top and I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. I also had a Nutella milkshake which was amazing as well. I definitely recommend!
We dined in for brunch and were seated immediately. They have art all along the walls which happen to be available for purchase. We ordered Troy savory crepe and raspberry & goat cheese challah french toast with some iced coffees. Both dishes were delightful and perfect portions. We're not local to Pittsburgh, otherwise we would return frequently to try the rest of the menu.
It's a place we always visit whenever we're craving for paninis and crepes. They make great paninis that are light yet tasty! Normally, I could barely finish one panini in most places, but here, despite being a decent size, I always finish them on my own.
Everything here was delicious and unique, the raspberry and goat cheese french toast was great. 10/10 will return for a second meal! Very warm and cozy atmosphere.
