I was there for the first time ever. There was a very upscale feel to the place. I enjoyed the lighting as well kinda sets the mood. While there I enjoyed the curry fried rice. The presentation of the meal was perfect. The meal itself was phenomenal. I highly recommend entertaining a group of friends here or a simple table for 2

I have been to Silk Elephant several times. It's a nice restaurant with decent ambience. Even the food is very good and tasty. Especially I like their chicken green curry so much. They take a longer time for preparation, but the food is worth the wait. Prices are decent and lunch special menus are very cheap. Highly recommended.

Took my girlfriend last night. I was extremely impressed. The sheer size of the menu would give Gordon Ramsay fits, but you pull it off. The Numtok Salad was amazing. While I ordered the Phuket Pork just for the name, it was great too. The menu really needed page numbers, as I was expecting a bibliography and index at the end. Nevertheless, I survived. Service was first rate. Thanks guys, very well done.

Excellent! Service was a little slow though. Also, I like to TIP based on performance. Adding 18% automatically? Coulda warned me and my party of five.

Great place for Thai Food. You can never go wrong with Panang curry, curry fried rice, and spring rolls. They recently upgraded the dinnerware, increased the appeal of the food a bit more. It was awesome to eat in clay plate. Bon Appetit!

Food is solid. The idea of Thai small plates is cool, but portion sizes are tiny for the price. The curries are mostly rice and a few pieces of protein. The noodles and fried rice are the best to get at this place. The Thai iced tea is also great, though a little pricey.

Had a wonderful lunch at the Silk Elephant on Sunday, September 11th. The restaurant was clean and staff were inviting and friendly. The presentations and amounts were perfect! And the food was wonderful! We were completely satisfied with our meals and the pricing. Will plan to go there again.FYI: There is also a bar in the restaurant. Pictured are the salad/spring roll plate (included with each lunch), Payang curry with tofu, and Green curry with tofu. It was so delicious!

Truly authentic Thai🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭, EXCEPT the one they call crab crowns (AKA crab rangoons), made with cheese, an ingredient that DOES NOT exist in Thai cuisine. The issue with this place is that their sauces tend to be very sweet 🫤🫤🫤. In particular, their Tamarind sauce, which is unique to Thai, Lao, Viet cooking, is severely sweet that prevents savoring the delicate flavors.—-Insist that they not add sugar to the entrees. The Siam Paragon is visually stunning😎😎😎. It’s listed as their signature dish, enjoyment of which is unfortunately dampened by a terribly sweet sauce👎👎👎…. I was just glad to have it lifted from the plate it was served on before biting into it. The salmon dumpling was unique, and flavorful. The wasabi sauce was very good, not sweet 😎😎😎 The Crispy Duck (listed as among the “Tamarind Supreme”) is excellent 🤩🤩🤩. Smoky flavor, fat rendered very very well, juicy. BUT again the tamarind sauce is very sugary sweet🫤🫤🫤, hence, insist it be served on-the-side as I did. The restaurant itself is spacious with very pleasing ambience. There is an open bar. Service is very good.

I will be buying the soup by the quart - minus the mushrooms (which if you Liv them, you'll be in 7th heaven!). I added chicken to it and it became a meal more than an appetizer.😄 The (salmon) dumplings and sauce were unusual in shape, however serve with a ginger sauce, yum. Definitely a new Sunday after church stops. Bringing the grands next time for dinner before I take them home. I will figure out how to bypass Forbes and the ice cream shops, our usual Sunday treat. Luv the Silk Elephant!

Silk Elephant in Pittsburgh truly wows with their delectable menu. The Jain fruity fried rice bursts with vibrant flavors, while the pad Thai and drunken noodles showcase a perfect balance of spices. The crispy corn fritters are an irresistible delight. What sets this place apart is their willingness to accommodate dietary restrictions, making every diner feel welcomed. Combined with the warm and accommodating staff, Silk Elephant is a must-visit for a satisfying and inclusive dining experience

Great Thai food! There are loads of Thai options around Pittsburgh, and tons of Asian food in Squirrel Hill. This place has some really interesting and unique options as well as a diverse menu. I decided to stick to my go-tos. Ordered the pad Thai (mild spice) with extra sauce and tofu as well as the Thai custard with coconut sweet sticky rice. Wow, they give you a huge portion of noodles for pad Thai! And it's very tasty as well. I asked them for some extra sauce so it wouldn't be dry, and they did not disappoint. This was a satisfying amount of sauce. Also, they gave me lots of peanuts (much more than most places) and perfectly followed some of the other instructions for my order. And, they added in large chunks of fried tofu. It was decently well soaked in the sauce and pretty tasty. Decent amount of eggs and bean sprouts. Overall, quite good. The Thai custard was also quite tasty. The custard itself was absolutely excellent. Good portion, perfect balance of sweetness, not too eggy, just a great treat. The rice was sticky and decent. Oddly, there were kernels of black rice in it (I've not seen this before in Thai sticky rice). There wasn't quite enough coconut topping/sweet milk. All in all, a very solid option for Thai food in Squirrel Hill. I definitely prefer their pad Thai over Thai and Noodle Outlet. Portions are quite large, prices decent. They have loads of unique tapas options, like corn cakes, mussels, and more. I'd recommend.

Really enjoyed our food here. Large servings provided take home for everyone in our group. I had the fruity fried rice with chicken--so good! We all agreed that you can probably order a couple higher on the spicy scale than you think you should.

Went out to dinner with friends here and loved it. Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. A great portion of food for the price too. All the food was full of flavor. Would recommend and return here!
