As a former battleship sailor, had to try it. Huge and price is good for what you get. Recommend battleship lager as well
Wanted to try this place since last year. I finally got a chance to experience this on 09/10/23 after a Steelers game. Oh WOW, awesome hoagies. I had a torpedo cheesesteak and a battleship combo of corned beef and turkey. My only negative would be that too much oil was used as it stained through the wrapping paper. Overall, I need to make another visit when I'm out there.
When you think of pittsburgh institutions of food you need to meet certain criteria. Quantity, value, quality and community reach. The triangle has been providing deliciously enormous sandwiches to the Swissvale/Edgewood community for generations. The sandwiches are perfect for a group to watch the games with, and they even have a little bar inside if you wanna keep the party there. The bread is soft and the meat can be hot or cold. No one’s going hungry with one of these battleships around
I was looking for the ultimate hoagie spot in the Burgh. This did not disappoint. The staff mixed with the atmosphere could not be beat. If you're looking for the sandwich spot, look no further.

This has been a favorite of my family for many years. It's in my home town of Swissvale and they sell the famous Battleship sub, which is like huge and every type I've tried has been great. They can be a little pricey but the service and people there are awesome. We've ordered numerous subs and platters from then for potlucks and gatherings and the crowd always flocked to our table for the Italian sub slices from the Triangle Bar. The environment in store is unique and friendly, the food is good, and every member of the staff has good customer service, even the new hires. I don't know if it's a how they train then or if it's just a natural Triangle family morale, whatever it is, they're doing great!
Truth be told, every time I’m here it feels like a little time jump back 20 years in terms of the decor. The food is absurdly good though. Not just gigantic but also amazing. Where in 2023 can you get a literal boat load of food for 20$? With fresh made bread? You can’t. Except here!
Great guys working there. Extremely thorough while helping you place your order. Cheesesteak was fantastic 2' long. Chocolate chip 🍪 are so good. Definitely worth checking out. Parking is a bit iffy.
I was recommended Triangle bar and grill by a friend of mine that lives in the Pittsburgh area. Last week while in the area for work I was finally able to check it out. I was blown away at how good the subs were. I had the cheesesteak and my buddy had the Italian. The vegetables and bread were fresh and the steak had a great flavor.
There is plenty of parking on the street and there are restrooms available. The location has about 10-12 bar seats and a few small tables.
Also note: Triangle bar and grill only accepts cash.
While the food is five stars for me. My only complaint was the service. As someone who had never visited the location, I was a bit confused where to order my food and pay for it. This is not marked and nobody actually greeted us as we entered. I’m sure the locals know the procedures and I will know upon returning.
Best Italian Huggies for miles around. If you don't know now you know. People from all over the area have been coming to this place for decades. So if you're in the area drop in and get one of the most delicious sandwiches you ever have.
Perfect place to grab lunch for the crew.they are open early and you can call ahead. Each sub easily feeds 4 people.
Tried and true. A Pittsburgh staple. I take it for granted sometimes that I live so close, but the Triangle never lets you down. Get the super battleship, or cap and corned beef; you'll thank me later.
Awesome staff, very kind. I've personally witnessed them work with people who were a few bucks short on what they wanted. I'll be a customer for life, and you should too.
Excellent Tuna Battleship sub! Very fresh. Excellent seasoning. Only demerit is they're cash-only, and the ambiance feels more like a carry-out establishment than a cozy corner pub, but I'm sure the prior is where a lot of business comes from nowadays. Have uploaded pic with latest menu.
Not my first time and most certainly won't be my last....always received excellent service and the subs are A1 ....would recommend 💪🏾
