If you are in Pittsburgh, specifically in the Strip, you need to go try Iron Born! Homemade chips and buffalo dip were so good. The pizza though… unmatched! I already can’t wait to go back and try their homemade pasta!

Tucked in the corner of the strip district between iconic Primantis and Pamela's sits Iron Born Pizza. The wait times aren't long and the pizza is fantastic. There are pizzas for all shapes, sizes and food preferences. The drink selection to correspond with the pizza rivals any other restaurant and the staff is super friendly. My go to pizzas are the Spicy and the Nashville Hot Chicken. Always go when we have the time.

Iron Born's Detroit style pizza is so good. The dough is fluffy and chewy but the edges are crispy. I thought brownie edges were the 💣 but I was wrong...Iron Born's pizza edges are 💯 times better!! The Strip District location, which offers dine in, is relaxed and chill. In addition to pizza, they have pastas and bar snacks. We had the house made french onion dip and chips. It was a yummy and fun shareable app. Iron Born's menu is great for sharing with a group. I will definitely be back.

Decent thick pizza served hot and fresh. Stopped here for the first time and our Detroit style pizza selections certainly helped to resolve our lunchtime hunger fix. Would have liked a little bit more sauce for the size of the crust and would like to taste a little bit more of a garlic or flavor seasoning in it to take it to that next level. Pizza pricing was decent and as expected. I ordered wings but with so much going on our waitress forgot the order. It was okay because the pizza slices were huge. No parking was available and the spot in the Strip appeared with very limited seating but they did their best to move folks in and out with the busy Open Streets Pittsburgh crowd. They did have a mini bar with seating on site as well.

This was our first visit here and it sure was a treat to find this place! The staff was very friendly and accommodating...Shout out to the hostess Bella, not only was she gracious and informative about the restaurant, but said it would be a 10 minute wait and she was spot on! As we walked in, the aroma of an Italian kitchen had us set on getting a couple of pizzas! We ordered the Chicken, Bacon and Broccoli Ranch Pie...which was over the top fantastic and also a vegan style pizza called Humble Pie. Wasn't sure how that second one was going to taste but let me tell you it was out of this world! The unique style of a square pizza gave us a crispy crust on all sides and it was just delicious!! Can't wait to visit again, as their menu is packed with all kinds of yummy items! I can see why Iron Born Pizza has won so many awards!! Kudos to the chef and they're wonderful staff!! You have to give this restaurant a try, it won't disappoint!!

Pittsburgh locals (yinzers) swear by their classic pizzerias (of which there are no shortage) such as Fiori's, Beto's, Mineo's, etc, but this new comer has quickly become my favorite pizza place in the city. While it may be considered sacrilege here to not award this title to the classics, the younger generation will agree that this is one of the best pizza spots in town. What to get: Iron Born serves Detroit deep dish pizza with crispy edges. You can't go wrong here, every pizza is fantastic. Origins: This place opened as part of the Smallman Galley food hall (I believe around the mid-2010's), then opened it's first standalone location in Millvale (no seating at this location but order a pie and head to the brewery down the street to eat it), opened it's second location (this one) back in the Strip District down the street from where it began.

We got the baked Mac n cheese, pizza and the garlic bites. All great! Price was a bit high but in this day everything is high. Food was fantastic! If you’re in the city great place for pizza!

A. PITTSBURGH. MUST. Located in The Strip, right across from The Terminal, the location is convenient and cute. The area has a lot of character. We ordered some beers, the pull apart garlic bread, and a pizza. Beer, good. Garlic bread, good. The pizza, TO DIE FOR!! These people know how to make a Detroit style pizza, absolutely delicious! My only regret is that we wasted stomach space with the beer and bread and didn’t order two pizzas!!

The pizza was delicious and filling, but next time we will just get it to go ahead of time due to lack of seating... Wish we could have eaten in, but they only have a handful of tables and some bar seats. Having a baby, we would have had to wait a while to get one of the actual booths (which were also quite high and I'm not sure if they had a high chair that tall, so he would have had to sit on the bench). They wanted us to wait outside in the blazing hot sun, which we decided it wasn't worth it for the sake of our baby, so we ordered some pizza to go and hid across the street in the shade. At least there are tables at the produce terminal mall thing.. But it wasn't really what we expected.

Great new pizza. Detroit style is different and worth the experience. Had both the yinzer and the red pizza .

Delicious thick crust Detroit style pizza. We had the Emmy (pepperoni, jalapeno, honey, + we added sausage). Nuff said.

I know this place for a while as they are famous for their Detroit Style Pizza. Ordered a spicy pie, very delicious. Crust is chewy, toppings are affluent, the flavor created by red sauce and pepperoni is great, tempered by banana pepper for a spicy touch. I am glad there is such a good place in Pittsburgh for Detroit Style Pizza. Will definitely visit again for other flavors.

When in Pittsburgh, highly recommend Iron Hand Pizza & Pasta in the Strip District! We had the pasta fra diavolo & Vegas pie ... winner of northeast pizza 🍕 expo 2023! The service was great too!

Okay, this pizza is criminally delicious from beginning to end. It's literally one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We came here to check it out ad it's highly rated and we were not disappointed. The pizzas came out hot, fast and very delicious. I felt bad dipping my crust in ranch. If you're a pizza enthusiasts like I am, you'll have no problems finding something delicious here. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and the environment is great. Come check this place out!

I cannot recommend this place enough! The decor is easy on the eyes and you can see the kitchen from the seating area which is cool when you're in a pizza shop. We ordered the four cheese with mushrooms which comes Detroit style with the sauce on top. It was steaming when it came out. I've never had pizza like that but it was delicious!! The mushrooms were portobellos and they were perfect! The wait staff was very nice and took care of all of our needs. Cannot wait to take more of my friends and family.
