Took a ride to try this lovely joint after seeing a marketing campaign on Facebook.. the food in the pictures looked delicious..
From my home it's 45 min drive.. it was worth the drive
The Bacon cheeseburger looked rather small in comparison to the picture I seen but then again I didn't include any veggies ... Well that was till taking a bite into the 1/2 pound burger.. it has huge flavor.. the meat itself had a very good taste and was seasoned just right for my liking.. the bun was buttered and toasted to perfection...the bacon was nice and crispy and they were not cheap with it either.. all in all this burger is a game changer and puts most burger joints out of the water... I thought five guys had the best burger around till I tasted this..not even close in comparison.. it might be 51 wings n things but I found me a new burger joint when I'm craving a one of a kind awesome burger...
The small fry was anything other than a small fry.. I expected your typical small handful of fries.. NOPE not today they said. It was a whole basket full of fries.. and they were done just right. (I can only imagine how large the large fry actually is) Got the side of cheese.. it's nacho cheese not cheddar but that's okay I like nacho cheese better with fries anyhow.. it just works for me... Was an unexpected but welcomed amount of fries for the price..
I couldn't go to a wing joint without atleast trying the wings. .. I got a 6 count just to taste (I honestly went there to try the burger.. that picture they posted had me at first sight) the wings are your typical naked wing ding.. but I'm not selling them short they were cooked just right.. crispy outside juicy inside .. I have no complaints .. they are serious about there wing game with a combination of 51 dry and wet sauces and dustings .. i went with the BBQ ranch... It was something different then ive seen at any other wing joint and I was in the mood for some BBQ but love ranch so I gave it a try.. it was what you would expect.. BBQ mixed with ranch.. however it was good and a nice change from my usual plain ranch.. not bad 51 not bad !!
While waiting for our food I seen another customer there eating a "bowl" as they called it.. it looked really good.. being interested in what it was I took a look at the menu and it's meat of your choice (steak, chicken, ect) cheese ..sauce on a bed of fries ... I'm finning to go back and try this one day its got me really interested..
The stores set up is in line with your typical non- chain pizza shop with two big screen TV's for your viewing pleasure.. looked well kept and clean.. it's a closed off kitchen so for you people who like to see your food being cooked you're outta luck..
The female... Counter person/food runner .. was your normal half happy person.. no complaints but nothing to rave about either.. anytime she was really present or in the front of the store was if someone walked in.. she came out from the back.. however no complaints from me.. I don't like being hovered over or bothered much while eating so I don't see it as a bad thing..
Only negative I could find was they only have bottled drinks (coke products) and brace yourself Turner's tea lovers..... Schneider's tea (you know the Turner's knock off) so I had to pace myself with the liquid so I didn't kill my wallet buying 3 or so 20oz bottles.. I see a joint like this having a fountain system to not only maximize soda profits but also lighten the cost for customers..
The price point is acceptable for the quality of food no complaints from me..the food was seriously delicious..it's in line with comparable restaurants of this sort.. I did have another person with me so for two burgers two small orders fries one with cheese one with ranch a 6 piece wing with 1 included sauce and I think 3 bottles of pop it was $35 with a small tip included.
All in all it was a great place to stop for dinner... it was filling and delicious.. if you don't live ideally close and like going for a drive it's worth it... and I'm definitely going to visit again.. and soon.. I have unfinished business with that bowl I seen....
Good job 51 wings n things..
Below is a photo of the food ... Yumm
Wings were so good, big and fresh but the best thing was they were cooked to perfection. Pizza joints and even Quaker are slacking in all those aspects. So many sauces I would have loved a feature sauces for the month/week so my indecisive mind could pick. Had signature hot which was recommended and it did not disappoint, enough heat but you still picked up the flavor of the wing and sauce. Home run in my book.
The variety of sauces is definitely worth the stop. Never had anything I didn't like, very fast and friendly. Nice to grab takeout when you don't feel like making dinner.
My family and I ordered 2 different hoagies, wings and a few appetizers which all was excellent. Called the order in to pick and was just bagging it up when we picked it up. The guy working the counter was very friendly and professional. We will be back again.
This was my first time there. The breadsticks were fantastic! The hot wings were the best I can remember having in a long time! The young woman working there was very nice. My family and I will be back.
Since 51 Wings has been taken over by NEW management, we have had a very wonderful experience!!! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. We have been ordering from there quite often. We always get the wings and cheese fries. The wings are very large and never over cooked. The fries are crisp and they actually fill the box. They will have me as a Customer forever!
Excellent wings and burgers! fast delivery and I've never been disappointed.
The food is always good, the delivery is prompt. Try a bacon-wrapped hot dog sometime, you can thank me later.
Absoulety amazing! Great amount of food for the price and it all taste amazing! First time trying this restaurant and I will definitely be a returning customer!
One of my employees heard me talking about getting wings, and told me about this place.
I went there directly after I got off.
I was not disappointed. We ordered 4 different flavors. Honey BBQ , buffalo , spicy parm and honey jalapeno along with the wing dust.
The flavors married very well together. I will be back to try more. It will be earlier than my past visit. (1 hr before close)
I ate a Philly cheesesteak Hoagie it was delicious
Great food , great service...Best wing spot in the burg..
The wings are very nice and crispy and the garlic honey wings are great!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was an excellent experience. I advise you to try it. Thank you. He was very kind and respectful in dealing. I advise you to try the burger
The new menu and owner were great on our first visit. I tried the breaded wings with the sauce I loved from the old menu and they didn’t disappoint. The jumbo shrimp were amazing along with the hush puppies. Love the new fries too.
Our order was on time and they gave us a free 2 liter to thank me for the order.
Absolutely delicious! My family and our friends went here tonight and it didn’t disappoint. The wings were crispy and there was a variety of sauces to choose from. The guys working there were very kind and helpful when we were deciding what to order. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for some top-notch chicken wings in South Hills.
On Friday night, we were moving our daughter into her new apartment and worked up quite an appetite. We decided we wanted wings, so did a quick Google search and randomly came upon 51 Wings. Looked like it was worth taking a chance...
We showed up with lots of questions, and the young woman at the counter was super attentive, knowledgeable and kind. So many choices, each one looking better than the previous. After trying a couple (yes, they will do that with a smile), we narrowed it down to a few, and ordered accordingly.
The wings were cooked perfectly and sauced liberally. The flavors were out of this world. Having lived in Buffalo, NY,I am very particular, and they delivered. The young woman continued to check on us and attend to our every need, and we felt we made the right choice.
I cannot imagine a trip to Pittsburgh without a stop at 51 Wings! They have earned out business and our affection.
Had a great meal at 51 Wings. The owner Maggie is super friendly and the wings were perfect. Nice crispy skin and steaming moist meat. I had the dry old bay. Very much recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Very good wings and not bad pricing and they let you chose different sauces which I know big shot bobs doesn't let you do......will be going again very soon. The only downside I can say is that the French fries are super tiny, they should cut them a little bigger they are like shoe string fries and from real potatoes so get super cooked and hardish
51 Wings delivers a knockout punch of flavor! From classic to inventive sauces, each wing is a crispy, juicy masterpiece.
A wing-lover's paradise that never disappoints.
Great service and even better food!! Everything tasted delicious! Highly recommend! Will definitely be coming back!
Great wings. Not what you are thinking when you open that box. Jalapeño ranch wings. Actually had purred Jalapeños on them and I do suggest their deep fried zucchini.
Best wings, great fried food, meat-and-fry bowls are filling, sandwiches are killer, and regularly bring out new food. Great staff.
The hot cheese curds/balls appetizer is amazing. A lit of places have similar, but theirs has a unique kick. My sister and mom love the gyros. Their poutine-like meat bowls can be legendary when smothered in the right sauce. Even their pizza is pretty good, best paired with an entree as it's not a show stopper, but it'll appease a table at a solid price.
This place consistently rates as one of my local favorites.
They have the best shawarma ever and the fish and shrimp
The best shawarma sandwich I had in a long time
we order atelast once a month. Best burgers around. We never have issue with under cooked or over cooked wings. great customer service!
