After considering several different places in the city to have a surprise 40th birthday party for my wife, I settled on the Foundry Table & Tap. I had been there for happy hour a few times prior, enjoyed the atmosphere, beer list, and the food, but my wife had never been there and neither had many of our guests, so I was a bit nervous about deciding to have the party there. However, my concerns were entirely without merit as the party turned out fantastically, thanks to the Foundry owners and staff who worked with me to make the event exceed my expectations.
I reserved the front bar area given that I knew I would have approximately 30 people attend the party. Being in the front bar area for this number of people meant that we had appropriate seating and mingling area for both adults and children, our own bar for the entire event, and several televisions to watch the Pens playoff game later in the evening. The Foundry allowed us to decorate the space and bring in our own birthday cake. I ordered numerous items from the menu and the chef helped me to determine an appropriate amount of food to order. Because I was looking for a more casual vibe, I went with the buffet option rather than a seated dining option. On the menu we had crudite, stuffed mushrooms, arancini, strawberry salad, brisket, pork sliders, buffalo chicken sliders, pierogi mashed potatoes, and vodka penne. We also ordered several items from the kid's menu since our's and several of our friends' children attended.
The food ready to go at the start of the party, it was well-presented, and delicious! I received numerous positive comments from our guests about the food (especially the brisket, the buffalo chicken sliders, and the pierogi mashed potatoes), the space itself, our great bartender and the cocktails that the Foundry offers (the Whippet is a must-try), and just the overall inviting and fun atmosphere that the Foundry provided. My wife absolutely loved it and I couldn't be happier with the effort shown by the Foundry, from its owners to its staff, to help make my wife's birthday party special!
If you're looking for an inviting atmosphere in an an area of the city with great views of Downtown, many other bars within walking distance, ample parking, great food, a varied and impressive beer list, and attentive people to help you plan your event, the Foundry Table & Tap is your place.
We stop at The Foundry before every Steeler home game. Great place to get a couple beers before heading into the stadium and paying their high prices. The appetizers are always plentiful and tasty. Such a beautiful view of the river from the back patio where we have grabbed a sausage sandwich from the grill. Someone in our group always gets the burger and has never been disappointed. Beautiful restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone.

I had the pleasure of sharing The Chef's Table with 2 of my friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. We were greeted warmly by Andrew, the owner and escorted to our table in the kitchen. The seven course menu was superb! From our first course of pork belly to dessert of three selections of chocolate peanut butter mousse, key lime parfait and cider poached apple. Each course was delivered by Andrew and then Chef Kyle came to the table to explain the ingredients and preparation of the dish in detail and answer any questions. Since we three are very avid cooks and entertainers there were many questions and lively conversations about the courses. Before our dinner Andrew contacted me to inquire about any allergies or food preferences, to be sure that our dinner was all that we expected, and it was!!! This was a wonderful special occasion dinner and I hope to have the opportunity to enjoy it again.
