Haven't gone in years, turns out new owner, got the honey jalapeño boneless wings & were great. Bartender was nice and even enjoyed a chat with the manager on accident, nice people, good food, good experience. Got yelled at for smelling like smoke but you'll have that

I come nearly every wednesday with my buddy after work for wing night, awesome deal for the quality of wings you get. Some of the best ive had and one of the best bartenders in pittsburgh (jason) he can take care of 20 people by himself and youll have your wings and drink in about 5-10 minutes!

One of the few places I know with indoor smoking - but with a separate section for non smokers (this is the kind of thing that you may want to know as the main area is smoke filled). The bar is lively with a good selection of domestics that are often rotated - get a flight as a sampling. The wing flavors are unique takes on classic flavors and delicious. Our pizza was a little soft on the bottom, but flavorful. The cost was very reasonable.

First time there tonight. Bartender was awesome 👍🏽 very polite and professional (Jason) very attentive. The wing's were delicious. Only reason for four was because of the smoking 🚭 that kind ruined it for me. But great food, atmosphere!

You will not find better wings in Pittsburgh. It's a well kept secret. The place is chill AF, pool table, darts, big screens and a welcoming atmosphere. It is easily a favorite neighborhood bar. But seriously - I have been looking for the wings I had in high school for decades and I finally found the same taste here at Hop. Sloppy or dry, well done or soft, ranch or BC... You only think you've had wings until you've had Hop House wings.

We visited The Hop House on a Sunday night. They weren't very busy so we sat at the bar. The other patrons seemed to all be regulars. The menu is limited- mostly fried bar food, but what we had was good. The wings were really good. The temperature was hot, the texture was crispy on the outside and the flavors were tasty. The super hot definitely has some heat. The bartender was the only server. She was friendly and stayed on top of everything. The only downside to me is that they allowed smoking in the bar. Definitely a place we'll return to.

Hop House has a wonderful atmosphere.
With a bountiful selection of ice cold beer.
Bartender Casey makes a mean drink.
Chef Jason’s wings are the best in town I think.
I’d give this place more than 5 stars if I could.
Definitely my favorite bar in the neighborhood.
Bartender Melissa is a peach 🍑.
Always has a drink within arm’s reach.

Decided to give this place another shot after I heard they moved to non smoking. That's true but not completely. You still have to take a short walk through the bar area which still allows smoking. So now they have a non smoking section. The entire place isn't non smoking. I don't fully understand how this place allows indoor smoking because they have to be one of the last around. They have a good menu here. The wings are good and they have some other options like wood fired pizza. It's kind of a shame that they don't put more stock into the food side versus the bar side because their food is really really good but I can't bring myself to come here often because of the smoking. You can section it off and call it non smoking but you can still smell it if you're sitting by the door.

I'm a big fan of this place. I've tried a bunch of stuff on the menu, and I've learned that you really can't go wrong with any of it. I usually end up getting their wood fired pizza, or the loaded fries (which are on their 9pm-10pm discounted menu), and my friends usually get their wings. Great beer selection, and great cocktail/mixed shots menu. I definitely recommend coming here if you're in the area!
Note: I've noticed some complaints in the reviews about the smoke. I'm typically the type to be really bothered by super smokey places. I've never had issues with it in here at all! I figured I should throw that out there. And if you are bothered by it by chance, they have a non-smoking section with a pool table.

It was surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting much due to the fact that they encourage smoking, but our group sat in the back where it is separated by glass and glass doors and it completely kept the smoke out of the rear area. We ended up getting appetizers and dinner and everything was really good! They even had a good selection of craft beers. All in all a very good experience.

Excellent wings... Many flavors, their house salad is a meal in itself filled with mushrooms, onions, black olives, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and more.
Friendly servers and excellent happy hour.
Have a great experience every time!

we have always loved this place- great happy hour pricing and food is great! sadly I hear it's under new ownership and the menu will be changing. I really hope they don't change it completely- their specialty mac and cheese dishes can't be found elsewhere, their wood fire oven pizzas are unique and wing sauce options are awesome

Small bar that has surprisingly great food. Wood fired pizza, fresh salads and well seasoned snacks are always delicious. Take out can be annoying with locals staring at you and blowing cigarette smoke in your face while waiting, but bars are bars. I have npt tried the restaurant side, but if the food is as good and the staff as friendly, I'm sure it would be a great experience. Small cramped parking lot, very difficult to get out unless you use the overflow lot on the side.

Got the chicken and steak salad. Wings, pizza slices and a fried chicken sandwhich. Everything was good! Smaller menu. Smoking on one side of bar and the other is the restaurant part and non smoking. There is a chalk board with drink specials. There seems to be a drink/menu special every day. For example today (saturday) was $0.40 chicken wings and $2 Miller lite and $2 pizza slices. Only suggestion I would make, please bring back the mac and cheese and just charge a little bit more to add a topping other than cheese and pepperoni to the pizza. Other than that the wings were big and pizza was good. Not sure if it's a homemade sauce but try it!

The interior is a bit dated, but the food is better than your average bar, and they make wood fire pizza's, which is not common among other restaurants in the area.
However, they allow smoking throughout bar/resturant, which is the only thing holding it back from a 5 star review. It's important to note that, last time I was here, there was a contractor who appeared to be submitting a bid to isolate the restaurant from bar, which would be a great improvement, should they choose to make the restaurant portion No Smoking.

The place has a comfortable atmosphere. It’s one of those places where everyone knows your name and is extremely friendly. It has the Pittsburgh “Home Town Feel”. The wings are 🔥 by the chemist Jason and the drinks and service by Casey and Melissa are top notch.
