Really great salad chain! Love that they toss the salad in front of you so that the things mix in well. At first I was a bit nervous since I had ordered the pesto salad but didn’t know the base was kale(not the biggest fan). But the flavors mixed so well with the crunchiness of the pita chips adding a nice texture. The lady serving me was also very nice, handing me a side of the dressing as I didn’t want the salad to get soggy on my ride back home. Pretty good for the price as well, and filling too!

I like this place so much that I had it agin in my one day trip at Pitt. The Mayweather salad reminds me of the harvest bowl of sweetgreen but I would say it is an improved version because it comes a half fresh avocado and the dressing combination of tahini and pesto is genius. The grilled chicken is also super flavorful. I also appreciate they mix for the customers and use a clean mixing bowl for every order! What amazing services. A very healthy and fulfilling meal at a decent price!

My daughter’s favorite place to go when she was living in Pittsburgh for college. This place has a lot of varieties of heathy food choices. I couldn’t figure out what I want from the menu, so I just chose the Create Your Own bowl. I tried the roots rice as the base which is seasoned purple rice. This rice tasted very good. I combined roots rice and Arcadian mix (mixed greens) as the base. I chose BBQ tofu for the protein. I added sweet potatoes, beets, charred corn, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado (extra charge), and cilantro lime as my dressing. This dressing is low acidity. It has a hint of honey. This is the best dressing I’ve ever had. I’m glad I followed my daughter’s suggestion. I definitely will go back here when I’m around this area. I wish they have a restaurant in MD.

For a chain restaurant, the food was pretty good. If you need to stop quickly for a healthy vegetarian/vegan meal, this is a good option. The dining room area was in the basement. Not a great place to have a dining experience, but fine for takeout or a quick stop. The roots rice was good as a base and all the ingredients seemed fresh.

Roots is a fantastic place for healthy options. I got the “El Jefe” and I would definitely recommend it. The service is quick and friendly. The location is perfect for people in the Pitt area. I took my food to Schenley Plaza and ate it there which made for a great night! Next time I’m in the area I will be stopping by!

Great food with healthy concept. The lady cashier was the nicest person I’ve ever met. If you are fee up with American cousine, this will be a cool option for you. Lots of veggie options, you can change ingridients. Reasonable prices

Good bowls, has sweeter and more diverse flavors compared to Chipotle, with good portions and macros. Try the sweeter mixes and sides instead of the southwest bowls, since you can just get that at Chipotle.

I took a Lyft from the VA hospital to the restaurant. I honestly could have walked. I did opt to walk back. This place is in trend and similar to any bowl restaurant you have ever dined at. I ordered one of their popular bowls. The food was very tasty. I really enjoyed every bite. My only complaint would be that the chicken was over cooked, and as a result a little dry. Please note that the dinning area is downstairs. It's a small space, and admittedly I was not a fan of the smell. Not sure what it smells like, but just not fresh. Regarding service: A+++++. It was the cashier for me! I wish I would have grabbed her name because she deserves a raise. Her personality was so bubbly and she really seems to like what she does. Her energy is so contagious. If you are hav ing a bad day, interacting with her will be a guaranteed way to make it better. You must check this spot out for fresh and tasty food complimented by stellar service. Honestly, the female cashier makes up for the other staff providing mediocre service

Great restaurant, wheelchair friendly (level entrance with soft-close button makes it easy to enter independently) and their food is really good. They have an allergen menu both posted online and physically displayed where customers can see it. Also, the food's REALLY yummy. Highly recommend!
