Huge portions and quality food. You probably could get the same hoagie down the street but a good price and them fresh cut fries are the deal breaker. Along with the urban look and Nintendo and Sega genesis you can play makes this place a high 5 star.
Back when this place was Southside Steaks they were a 2 or 3 star establishment. Expensive for a small sandwich with little food on it, mostly dense bread.

Having moved from the West coast, I was DELIGHTED to find a place with actual spice and seasoning on their food!!! Fries and chips are also homemade! Amazing food, great service, and wonderful atmosphere! Great prices for the amount of food you get. Highly recommend.

I was afraid to try this place because the last cheese steak place there was horrible. I am glad I tried it. The cheese steak was really good. French fries were fresh cut and tasted great. I will definitely be back.

I like the food good cheese steak. But wish they would keep the tables cleaner and the bathroom floor is sticky and pee all over the floor. Come on this is a place to sit down and eat keep your restrooms clean.
The staff is always warm welcoming & Friendly and they have a great amount of different suggestions they can offer you for meateatr's and not meat-eaters alike even though it is a Cheesesteak place! Also fun fact it has a fallout shelter so that's where we're safe from the abomb.
Awesome digs, great food and one of the must see, must eat place in the Burgh! If you are on the SouthSide it would behoove you to stop in and enjoy this home bred entity! Philly Steaks watch out, here comes the SouthSide of Pittsburgh Steaks creation!
Really good cheese steaks. I love that they get all of their bread from Philly, despite never being there.
My only gripe with the place is that it's usually dirty (your feet stick to the floor) and the workers are sometimes kind of rude.
You can't get a much more solid pre-bar/post-bar meal than South Side Steaks. I have worked for Primanti Bros in Oakland and I'll tell you that this is definitely the 2nd best sandwich in Pittsburgh. Try the Satan Steak, delicious.
Sign says authentic cheesesteaks, it is actually roast beef. #2 staff seemed ghetto, didnt use gloves, i'll never forget i saw guy eating cheese while putting shredded cheese on my cheese steak and I could be mistaken but I think cashier charged me 75 cents extra and pocketed it lol... but i still h
