The food was absolutely incredible, we even ordered dessert which we typically never do. That's also a testament for the value. We got an appetizer with half portion pasta dishes and dessert for around $60 with tip. I was really surprised at the size of the half portions and the reasonable prices considering Google indicated its expense as $$$. We still went home with leftovers even with the half portions.
The atmosphere was really nice and fairly quiet even when it got busy towards the end of our meal. My only complaints are that the table was a bit small and cramped for my long legs and our waiter came back a little too frequently to see if we'd selected our meals yet. To be fair though I can be pretty slow and indecisive, so your mileage may vary. Overall extremely impressed and would love to go back again.
Came here as part of an Anniversary celebration with a couple that are local to the area. From start to finish this meal was off the charts! It is a family run business and we got to hear a little bit about the history of the place and the family from one of the owners. For appetizers, our table of 12 shared calamari, mushroom beignet and fried ravioli. Each had its own unique and delicious flavor and there was plenty for sharing. The choices of wines were excellent and really enhanced the meal. For dinner, I had the parmesan encrusted cod served with lobster risotto and sauteed spinach. It was absolutely incredible. I also picked a little at some of the other meals including the fettuccine alfredo which was one of the best I have ever tasted. To wrap up the meal, we all shared a few of their signature desserts - the chocolate / raspberry mousse chocolate pianos. Yum!!! It’s a good thing I am not local to this area or I’d be eating here regularly and would need a new wardrobe. If 6 stars were an option, this place would be worthy!
Went at 5:30 on a Wednesday, and there was a short wait. We had the special appetizer (polenta fries) and they were delicious. We are planning on going back before our vacation ends.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting with an upscale elegance. The family run restaurant staff are very friendly. The food is delicious! There are so many choices. Great for a special occasion with their singing waiter who will sing happy birthday or just a romantic dinner. They also have outside patio dining in the nicer weather.
I believe my daughter and I finally found a restaurant that is equivalent to a 4 or 5 star restaurant in South Florida. The food was excellent. We started with shrimp risotto that was perfect. My daughter ordered the the Filet Mignon Oscar and I ordered the the Veal Piccata, it came with polenta and a baby leaf balsamic vinegar salad. The risotto and polenta was the best ive had including my own recipes. The filet was tasty, tender and juicy. I would rate Mazzeo's the best restaurant in Massachusetts, that I've been to. Even in comparison to the ones I've been to in Boston. Our server was attentive, helpful and pleasant and the atmosphere was noisy as it was very busy but it still felt cozy. The only disappointment was my veal, it was way to thin making it overcooked, dried out and tough. The coating however was very tasty. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes. My daughter took me out so I didn't see the bill but I'd guess it was around $100.00 and worth every penny.
This is a family owned and operated Italian Restaurant with a tremendously loyal clientele! Tony and his daughter Mia work hard to make sure every patron feels welcome. The food is very tasty and the portions are large! The desserts are amazing! We ate at the bar and met lots of friendly locals. Bartender Jen-1 makes a great Espresso martini and head bartender, Becky, quickly turns out good drinks too if sitting at a table. Best Italian family friendly restaurant in the area!! And don't forget to purchase a jar of their famous Nonna's Homemade Marinara Sauce!
I love the fact that we could get half portions. This was wonderful because we don't like to waste food at all.
The piano dessert is just so adorable.
Had dinner at Mazzeo's while visiting relatives in Pittsfield. With a party of four we had a few appetizers, four entrees and a dessert. Everyone was very pleased with the food. I had Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, the best I've ever had. I wish we had a family run Italian restaurant of this quality where I live. Fantastic restaurant with great food and excellent service.
Wonderful place to eat! Great food, friendly, helpful wait staff. Nice atmosphere. Elevator for handicap access. Outdoor seating available. Lots of parking.
This is a rare review for me, this was an outstanding restaurant on all levels. Server Jason was great, timeliness of the meal spot on and very tasty. Pricing not bad for what you receive.
