My husband and I visited Richardson's last week for dinner. We were seated inside (It was a very hot evening, so that was a no-brainer for us.). The dining room is lovely - decorated tastefully with period colors and fabrics. Our server was wonderful. She was attentive without hovering, answered our questions well, and kept our wine glasses full. I ordered the scallops; my husband ordered the duck breast. Both were fantastic! A wonderful surprise - for this country - was that the sides were every bit as good as the main entrees. As well, the blueberry hibiscus marmalade that arrived with my scallops was divine, as was the rhubarb sweet and sour sauce that accompanied the duck breast. I enjoyed a lovely rhubarb crisp for dessert. I almost never eat dessert, but I could have this every night for the rest of my life! I've been fortunate enough to have dined in five star restaurants in Paris, Rome, London, and top restaurants in New York, Washington, and San Francisco. Richardson's holds its own, and quite nicely, with all of them. Food prepared this well and this thoughtfully is a rarity - Richardson's has a lot to be proud of. DO NOT miss this treasure! It's well worth a long drive and overnight stay to dine here.

Another delicious meal on the patio at Richardson's last night! The oysters were fresh and expertly shucked and the rhubarb mignonette makes a perfect accompaniment. The french fries served with blueberry ketchup are not to be missed. For salads, the New England Lobster Salad is highly recommended as the lobster was straight out of the ocean and a generously sized piece of claw meat. For entree, the Szechuan Spiced Duck Breast was outstanding and unique. The duck was cooked perfectly and the bok choy, egg roll and rhubarb sweet and sour sauce made for a truly delightful dish. The service, as always, was impeccable. Counting down the days until my next visit!

Stellar grill menu, and the ambience on the outside patio is fantastic during the summer time. Love sitting by the canal sipping a cocktail! Dinner menu is also obviously their crown jewel

Can't say too many wonderful things about Johannes & Alexis' consummate hosting while you pour over a menu that always inspires admiration and culinary lust. Their wine list will make any true enthusiast swoon over which world-class bottle to try. I love eating outside, but truth be told any time of year or weather Rochester throws at us is irrelevant. My son's MBA party was rainy (in June!!) but the food and conviviality wowed all in attendance. It's the perfect place to celebrate, whether it's a birthday or just Friday :D

What a great experience! My mom and her boyfriend came to visit my wife and me, and we were recommended to this restaurant by someone who's lived in the area much longer than the month we've been here. The food was out of this world! My wife enjoyed the scallops, my mom loved the seafood gumbo, her boyfriend raved about the catch of the day which I believe was halibut, and I couldn't get enough of the confitted duck legs! The homemade ice cream and sorbet - also completely amazing. We could not have asked for a better meal. The drinks were also quite tasty! The service was incredible as well. And the atmosphere was so cozy. I can't wait to return!

Excellent service, Debbie was delightful in her explanation of the specials. She was so excited about the choices I couldn't help but try them. I'm glad we did. The apps were fantastic, we should have just ordered more! Certainly will have to bring back some additional friends. I have difficulty hearing but the interior was charming and not noisy at all.

Charming, locally-owned, restaurant in a beautifully manicured lightly-wooded setting along the famous Erie Canal in Pittsford, NY. Summer months see the outdoors being fully utilized, with a massive, free-standing tent, as well as individual umbrella'd tables. While the menu is not extensive, it IS exquisite! We're talking high-end gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees! The meals do not disappoint- you get what you pay for! Portions are generous and the flavors are delectable. There is also a well-stocked bar with a good variety of beer, wine and stronger spirits. The staff is attentive, courteous and professional. You will feel like royalty on how they treat you!

Diane was a great server. We had two people with food allergies and she was very knowledgeable on what they could have and how all the food was prepared. The food itself was very good. All around a very nice dining experience.

The Black garlic shrimp scampi was fabulous. I loved it and would certainly order it again. Our service was excellent and it was a beautiful night under the tent.

Loved it here! Right on the canal, under a tent and great food. Lots of seating. Chairs and fire pits along the canal for drinks. What's not to like. A little pricey but worth it. Definitely would recommend a visit.

Somehow expected better. Went for the clambake which came with sausage, corn and fingerling potatoes. Even though it's fresh corn season, it came with canned corn. Everything was heaped on the plate of clams. That said, the location is outstanding!

We sat outside by the canal. Atmosphere was cozy. I had the pork chop and I have to say it was the best chop I have ever had! Cooked to perfection!
