If you asked what restaurant is my favorite in Rochester.. I'd excitedly tell you, Monroe's! I love date nights here. It's beautiful inside and outside. The atmosphere and staff are always pleasant. I love the fact that every night has different specials and desserts. During the winter, you can eat outside in a little heated igloo!!! I still have so many more plates to try and can't wait for my next visit.
This was our first time eating at Monroe’s, our daughter picked your restaurant for her birthday dinner and we all couldn’t be more pleased with everything. The server was pleasant and professional, our food came in a timely manner and was delicious!
Look at the size of the lobster in the Mac and Cheese, all the portions were like this.
We will return soon to enjoy the atmosphere and food, we will definitely recommend Monroe’s to our friends and family.
Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
I attended a baby shower at Monroes, the food and service was outstanding. We were in the older part of the restaurant with old school historic Erie Canal charm. I have been here many times and they never fail to please. It's one of my favorites.
Portions were big the risotto was slightly undercooked but everything was flavorful. Scallops were great. Drinks were magnificent. I would recommend and will definitely come back.
Largest portions of food I have seen in years... extremely delicious ❕️❗️❕️❗️. Service outstanding ...so on point...Atmosphere...Classy...Will be back❗️❕️❗️❕️
This was the first time at Monroes, so we made a reservation almost 2 weeks in advance. When we arrived they tried seating us at a hightop next to where the kitchen was, thankfully we were able to move. Service was slow but our waitress was very nice. We ordered the calamari, which the waitress recommended, it was not very good at all. Luckily the entrees were both delicious! We got the chicken french and chicken parm, they were huge portions and absolutely incredible. Overall good experience!
We were guests to a private anniversary party. I didn't know this place is the old Spring House. I am 67 years old, and his place has had a restaurant at least that long. It has been modernized and has fun looking nooks so people feel private although the space is huge. We visited on a warm fall night and the outside spaces where very inviting. Our buffet food was nothing remarkable, but on a special occasion I would be tempted to spend $$$ on their enticing menu. Definitely a popular place with young professionals.
Food is terrific and abundant. Our waitress and the front end staff were great and attentive. The place was a little loud for our liking as we were celebrating our anniversary. We were originally seated very near the bar which was really loud. Fortunately our waitress worked with the hostess to reseat us in a quieter corner.
We wanted to go someplace special for my birthday and love the atmosphere at Monroe's. We ate on the patio, it was a beautiful night. Our waitress was very good. The brussel sprout appetizer was wonderful! The short rib special was so delicious, very tasty and moist. My chicken french was just ok, it lacked much flavor and kind of watery. Overall it was very pleasant.
The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was incredible, but there were a few things that did let this place down. The serving size is huge here; don't expect to finish your whole meal. That being said, since the portions are very big, the price for said portions makes sense. The dishes themselves are really tasty and very unique. The only dish my table did not like was the beef ragu. It was too sweet for our tastes. The desserts, the appetizer, and our other entrees, though, were superb. All in all, I would definitely come back again if I wanted to celebrate at a peaceful and delicious restaurant.
I had my bridal shower here last weekend in the main dining room. It was gorgeous. The brunch, mimosa bar and desserts were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The space was bright and overlooked the patio. Would definitely recommend
Hadn't ever had a chance to eat here. We tried just stopping in on a Friday or Saturday a few times. Well that's a mistake. Most of the time they said they couldn't seat us till 830 and here it was 530 and plenty of seats open. So we finally made a reservation and went on a Saturday night. Got there 7 minutes early and was told we would have to wait 7 minutes, even though once again there were seats available and the seat we ended up in was open the whole time. Maybe they do this so they can handle cooking the food and have waitresses available ? Idk but they could have at least let us sit there and order drinks until the 7 minutes was up. Anyways food was great, though a little expensive . Which I think is the idea, as it felt a little stuffy in there, if you know what I mean. I would recommend a reservation and proper attire. Though there were a couple people dressed like they were going to Burger King lol
A wonderful dining experience ! I had the artichoke French with escarole over angel hair pasta, it was Delicious !
A little loud, because of the acoustics of the 'open floor plan', but everything else was as expected. I visited twice in the same week. Had to have their quite affordable fish fry on Friday after much nicer, more expensive meals earlier in the week. We'll be back!
