Great place, great people. I get them for my staff meeting and they all get devoured.
There's just something about their donuts - the blueberry cake donuts & sour cream cake donuts are amazing - so fresh! Gigantic cinnamon rolls & huge apple fritters. If you're craving donuts, this is the place to go (don't let the hole-in-the-wall storefront fool you). ♡
Been coming here for years, probably 20 years at least. Great food, and excellent service.
Been going here for 40 years...love it! Their apple fritters and cinnamon rolls are the biggest and best in Texas!
I have a question for Face Book - ? How did I (or someone) post a #2 under my name on this F/B page. I have been friends with the owners for well over 40 year AND the only post that I ever give them is a #5+

I went there for years and have missed them since I moved to north west side of Frisco!
This is an awesome family , and they make awesome donuts.
Nom got excited when we saw a Southern Maid Donuts as we pulled into Poor Richard’s Café, so we had a few donuts for a pre-breakfast breakfast!
Om: I think poor Nom was expecting something a bit different after we tried the doughy delights! SM Donuts is a fine donut store, on par with all the other small donut places that you see in the area. I tried a few glazed donuts, some donut holes, and some kind of buttermilk donut stick. The glazed donuts and donut holes were delicious, again very similar to what you would find at most other donut shops. The donut stick was something I had never seen before offered, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside! Reminded me of those store bought donut sticks, only much much better. MUCH better!!!! Good service, donuts are fairly priced, and the place was clean. Despite those donut sticks, there isn’t enough there to set it apart from any other donut store you see in the area. Still, good donuts and would go back if in the area and in the mood for a sugar high!
Nom: I have to admit I was super excited when Om pointed out the Southern Maid Donuts! I remember my grandfather taking me there on Sunday mornings which was a big deal because it was quite a drive! But I remember the donuts being soft and warm doughy delights! I was SO hopeful that it would have remained the same after over 20 years but alas…nope it was not. Ok please don’t get me wrong, this is a good donut shop and very cute and quaint! I did have a bite of my handsome love’s buttermilk donut stick and it was REALLY good, like dunk in your coffee good! But the donut holes were dry and I like mine a little less done. The folks there were super nice, the shop was super cute and clean. Other than the donut sticks it was ok. I’d go back if we’re over there for Poor Richards and we’d want a quick donut or a few donut sticks to take home for later
