I love Chubby's Cafe! The food is always fresh and yummy. Their beef is ground in house and you can taste the difference! There are so many good options on the menu that I have a hard time deciding what to order, but some of my favorites are the BBQ burger, the Cheesesteak burger, the Shrimp Po-boy, and when I am in the mood for something a little lighter, my go to is the Strawberry Chicken Salad! The service is great too! Eat at Chubby's, it's so good!
3 Words... Jalapeno Ranch Burger. I have been there 4 times now and loved every bit of it. 1st time I had the Jalapeno burger (awesome) next time I had the sweet buffalo chicken but I got ranch instead of blue cheese on it (maybe more awesome) the 3rd and 4th time I got a BBQ burger (maybe the most awesome) I might be stuck on that one for awhile. This is a must try place. They said it was the best kept secret in the valley, well, not much of a secret any more. It got really busy last Friday night when I was there last.
Great food. The fish n chips are amazing!!!!! I am from Seattle so I don't throw that around easily.
But What a Tasty Way to Go. This is a heart-attack on a plate-but what a way to go! Fantastic burgers and fries, excellent salads! Really enjoyed the food and service at Chubby's though it's really greasy (not necessarily in an un-enjoyable way) so I can only go once in a great while.
Tasty and affordable!. We stumbled upon Chubby's through Urbanspoon. The Shrimp Po-boy is very tasty...and big. They did a good job with the jambalaya side too. My wife got the Adult grilled cheese, which just turned out to be american cheese on texas toast...nothing very adult about it except thick bread. It was OK but nothing special. The beer-battered fries were very good though.
We'll go back to sample some of the burger options, which appear to be their preferred menu items.
Get the shrimp po-boy it's amazing :)
Rustic Bite. Rustic and Delicious! We have gone in twice now. The food is great and the prices are good. The first time was so busy they had a line out the door. We had a small group with us and we had burgers and chicken strips. The second time we went in we had a Bacon burger and Pastrami burger with beer battered fries, the quality was great. You will love the docor of vintage windows, candy machines and a Radio Flyer wagon! We will be going back to this delicious gem, we have to try their shakes!
One of my favorite burgers. The Bacon Ranch Cheeseburger finally got me to up this from my Likes to my Favorites. Just a well-executed burger. Neck-and-neck with State Street Grill's single with cheddar, bacon and grilled onions for my favorite burger. Put the beer-battered fries and ranch dressing on the side, and it's perfect.
I've tried a few other things here over the last couple of years. The cheesesteak was very good. The patty melt was just okay...the late Atlantis down the street had a better one. I loved the shrimp p'o boy the first time I tried it, but not so much the second...the cole slaw just didn't do it for me.
Good service, but it gets very busy during the lunch hour, and I've noticed that the quality seems to slip when it gets very busy (yeah, that's a good problem to have). So, I try to avoid peak hours.
Well after hearing much hype about Chubby's from a dear friend of mine, the time came that I finally got to step into this glorious hole in the wall and partake a piece of its’ food and infamous reputation. Be warned that you will spend a good 5-10 minutes staring at the menu, while saliva forms slowly in your mouth because everything sounds incredible—which makes deciding quite difficult. Lucky for me, and for you lucky reader who is going to give Chubby’s a try after reading this, those working were such gems and informed me of some of the menus’ best. After receiving several recommendations I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich. I’ve had a BBQ chicken sandwich, but I had never eaten a BBQ chicken sandwich the size of my face before. It was divine. It was loaded with BBQ sauce and coleslaw and was uber delicious. It would be a crime to fail to mention the beer-battered fries. SO GOOD. And thankfully paper towels are provided at each table. You’re gonna need ‘em!
Diamond in the Rough. I had my reservations about going to another place with barbecue in Utah, but they had so much more than that. We finally decided to give it a try after my friend said "I DREAM about their burgers!"
I got the Chubby Cheese Steak, which was very tasty and upgraded from fries to coleslaw. It was THE BEST coleslaw I have ever had. It was fresh and crisp and sweet with a poppy seed type dressing. My husband got the Bacon Ranch burger with fries. We forgot to upgrade to the beer batter fries, but the regular ones still held their own. The fry sauce was too plain and too ketchup-y, but all was forgotten once I tried my husband's burger. It was a heavenly harmony of toppings and juicy meat, and I completely understand why my friend "dreams" about it! We will be going again VERY soon.
UPDATE: We went again and got the beer batter fries. If you're a fry lover you will LOVE those fries. Great American Cuisine.
UPDATE AGAIN: Tried the Jalapeno Bacon Ranch Burger. Spicy but delicious. This burger joint can do no wrong!!
They claim to have an award winning cheesesteak sandwich. It's average at best. However, they are a great burger spot. I also like the options as side items including battered fries, hushpuppies, and others.
Fantastic burger for a great price! For an all American burger a ton of fries and a large beverage for $6.50! My wife couldn't finish her burger or her fries! Go!!! Keep this great place in business!
The philly cheese steak sandwich WOW!!!! Never had a cheese steak so good! And their southern crispy chicken sandwich no one has better chicken sandwiches!!!! Best burger/sandwich place in Utah and I've eaten at them all!
Interesting But Not Great. We finally found this cafe after passing it a million times in the past couple years. We read reviews on multiple sites and thought we had been missing out on the best kept secret in Utah Valley. But... it isn't the most fantastic place I've ever eaten. The service is good, the atmosphere is interesting like a road-side cafe, and the prices were pretty good, but the food just wasn't what I was hoping for. Maybe it was because of the hype and anticipation, but the flavors just didn't do it for us.
Based on friend's reviews and US and Yelp reviews, we tried the Bleu Bacon Burger with beer battered fries (you better LOVE bleu cheese, because that's all I could taste) and the Carolina Style BBQ Sandwich (the coleslaw was good but the BBQ just wasn't up to par with other BBQ restaurants in the area). The beer battered fries were OK, but I wish I would have ordered some normal fries to have a break from the battered taste.
Overall, I'd probably return to try a few of the other menu items that people rave about, but I will lower my expectations a little next time so that I can perhaps enjoy it a bit more.

A Night To Remember. If you ever find yourself in Utah Valley be sure to visit Chubby's Cafe. This hard to find cafe remains seemingly hidden next to the gas station on State Street in Pleasant Grove, thus preserving it's revered status as one of "the best kept secrets of PG". Being referred by a friend I found myself seated in the comfortable booth admiring the various bicycles and trinkets found in the establishment. Within minutes I was served piping hot beer battered fries with an excellent Reuben Sandwich to boot! The service was friendly and helpful and the night was one to never forget. I am deeply tempted to come back and try the Chubby's Challenge and get my picture on the wall!! The photo is of a Ranch Bacon Double I got another time. Delicious!
Utah Burger w/ Fried Egg & Bacon. I love the Utah Burger w/ fried egg & bacon with beer battered fries. It makes me so happy it's hard to talk about without tearing up a little. Go get yourself some of that!
Went with my brother for lunch and I ordered the Reuben with a side of jambalaya. Both were excellent and I plan on taking the older members of the family there soon. We had very attentive service including offers to refill our drinks. There was no rush to push us out, but cleanup was prompt and the help were all very enthusiastic and nice.
I would definately go again. Had the Reuben Sandwich and it was one of the better Reuben I have had in a long time. Also tried the sweet wings. They were really good! They had just the right amount of spice to make them interesting but were definitely sweet. Most likely the best sweet wings I have had. Overall a great place to eat. Can't wait to try more on their menu. Meals came in a timely manner and the service was friendly. Great atmosphere.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Chubbys!! My husband and I drive down from South Jordan and we are NEVER disappointed. Love the Philly and the pulled pork sandwiches. The mac and cheese, baked beans and the beer batter fries are also amazing! And it's always fun to look at the wall of shame and fame and see friends up there. It will always be a favorite!
Can you say po boy?. I will say, this is probably the best shrimp po boy I've had outside New Orleans! Nice crispy, lightly fried shrimp, great remoulade, crispy slaw on a crusty and pillowy roll. I can't wait to come back and try the philly, because if it's as good as the po boy, i might have a new favorite restaurant.
Best cheese-steak on the Wasatch Front!. Cubby's is truely "American" food, from all over. They have the best "Philly" cheese-steak sandwich I've had. WAY better than the DP I had at the football game the other night. Great Buffalo (New York) Wings! Next visit, Louisiana Po-Boy & Jambalaya.
Mmmmmmmmm...
Chubby's is AMAZING. They have authentic hush puppies, mouth watering burgers, delicious beer battered fries, huge fried shrimp, etc. You can't go wrong with anything here!
Good servings, yummy stuff! We're glad we got to try this place!
I love Chubbys!. If you haven't tried Chubbys it's because you haven't seen it! It is kind of hidden in Pleasant Grove, kiddie corner from Maceys. They have tons of different options on their menu to choose from, and I have had most. We had a company party there and everyone went away loving the food! My favorite thing there is the Pastrami Burger with Beer Battered Fries! Their prices are also very low for what you get!
Great Reuben. Chubby's has a great Reuben sandwich. The price is reasonable at $7 and it also comes with fries. I found the service was prompt and the people friendly. big thumbs up!
Always get the beer battered fries. I don’t know why they aren’t the official, standard french fry option at Chubby’s but when you are asked if you want regular fries or another side ALWAYS get beer battered. They are amazing (I’m dreaming of them while writing this post). They taste like the god of happiness and the god of taste spent magical time together and the result was beer battered fries. Matched with their standard fry sauce and I feel like I could eat them every day for the rest of my life and I’d be a better man because of it.
Louisiana Shrimp Po Boy. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooo gooooood.
I have been craving a Reuben sandwich for who knows how long, and Chubby's Cafe's Reuben hit the spot. It was spot on good.
This informal barbecue / burger / wings / southern cooking restaurant offers good tasting food at a great price. Today I went with the Philly Cheese steak and the beer battered fries.
Chubby's is so good! I'm glad they have multiple locations. The beer-battered fries are crispy and melt-in-your-mouth all at once. They have fry sauce, too. We love the burgers. Portions are big enough that even a kid's meal will satisfy me! The atmosphere is great too. It has the potential to be a big thing if they'll keep up the good work!
I love chubbys! This location was great. Their food was yummy and warm! I loved the Oreo shake I got as well!! Definitely recommend.
Love it! My new favorite burger place. The fries are thick but not too thick and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nice burger too!
One of the best burgers I’ve had in Utah — definitely recommend 👍🏼 Fries and house sauce are also phenomenal
Funny logo. Just had to stop by. Big menu of burgers. Lots of odd bits to look at. Interesting setup to feel outside while being indoors. Had the battered fries. Pretty good but small portion. Also had the peach cobbler. It was a small individual size vs a slice from a pie. Tasted mass produced.
Chubby’s is a go-to for me and my family. The burgers are very good, but the sides are the stars of the show. The beer-battered fries are some of the best fries I’ve had. The scones with the honey butter are amazing. I have even gone to chubby’s just to buy some honey butter to take home, which was excellent.
The atmosphere is fun, plenty of space, thematic decor. The service has always been great.
I love Chubby’s but this was my first time at this location, I normally go to the one in Vineyard. It was still good here but I don’t think the two are equal. I always get a BBQ Burger and this location was kinda lackluster. I did like the dining room and think it would be better dining in especially since the parking lot is huge so you could probably go anytime. Though it seems to be an older building and the bathrooms were kinda worn down.
This place earned 5 stars on my first visit, so I had to return. However, the return trip came with an unexpected surprise. My go-to burger at any restaurant is the mushroom Swiss because in my 40 years of life, I've never had to worry about mayo being added. In my opinion, mayo is the scourge of any burger, and for mushroom Swiss burgers, every restaurant has agreed... until now. Chubby's thought they would buck tradition and, in doing so, have destroyed a classic. I'll be back, but next time, I'll insist they hold the mayo, regardless of what I order.
Nice local restaurant. We have their famous Utah burger and shrimp phoboy along with the soft serve ice cream and beer battered fries. Portions are big and the food was great. We had two toddlers, and they had 5 high chairs and some booster seats. My kids loved the fries. I can't wait to return and try other menus.
Ordered the pastrami burger, Utah burger, shrimp basket, kids meal, Rueben and the chubby burger challenge (for our 13 year old). All were amazing.. I recommend the beer batter fries. The challenge hamburger was HUGE with tons of fries. He got pretty close but didn’t quite make the 15 minutes.
