Tasty sweet and savory Philippine cakes and breads. Owner was nice. It’s a bit hidden.
It’s takeout only place with all the food in pre-packages spread on a plastic table. So, not a fancy place… in fact a bit run down.
It is hidden among the cars in the parking space for a local hardware store (accidentally found this while visiting the hardware store).
Worth trying again… but check the timings and days it’s open (it’s closed 3 days a week.
Filipino goodies!
I just found this place not too long ago, thanks to yelp. The first time I went, I got lost because I couldn't find the main entrance. The bakery is located in a neighborhood, so when you used your gps you are kinda skeptical where you're going because there's bunch of houses there. As soon as you go inside the bread smell welcomes you. Its basically your going in to somebody's house that they converted their living room and kitchen to a barkery. Its pretty neat, because you can see fresh goodies being made and baked.
They have a sample table where you can try the different goodies they offer and once in awhile they will give you a try of some freshly bake bread that just came out from the oven. Yum! Don't come here hungry because you will end up buying so much. Lol! Whenever we come here we go to panic buying mode. But the goodies their selling is all worth it and really good. You wont get disappointed.
Visiting this bakery feels like you're in the know and up to no good. The location is not obvious other than a small home bakery sign outside the door. You ring the bell, and you're quickly greeted by the owner, who welcomes you in and offers delicious samples. The selection of baked goods is small, but good, and everything is fresh. Not everything is priced, but expect everything to be in the $5-$10 range. The chocolate crinkle cookies are fantastic, but they'll set you back $10, which is well worth it IMO.
Really great bakery. Desserts were very fresh!!!
First time having anything like this and it was all amazing we pretty much bought 1 of each thing to see what ot was and was surprised it was all really good the staff was super friendly place was a clean I well most deff be back to try a drink
Haven't tried many Filipino bakeries so this was a first for me and boy was it a great surprise. Ensaymadas were good (Yema + Ube flavors). My nieces liked the Ube ensaymada. But when I came back another day for the Ube muffins + Guava muffin, very moist and delicious + cream cheese! Coming with Asian tastes I prefer not too sweet and not too heavy on the cream. This bakery makes me want to search for other Filipino bakeries in other areas and try out their stuff. I think it has set the bar very high. It's not a economic choice if you're looking for the cheapest of things but I would prefer to have this on special occasions. Can't wait to try the Ube pie or other stuff.
Either way, come and visit. The owner is really nice and it smells great in there.
Such wonderful staff. The smells and atmosphere are just incredible! And the coffee is some of the best you'll ever have, so smooth and flavorful I drank it black (and I always put cream and sugar in my coffee). This little shop is a great find!
Omg, this place will definitely get me in some trouble!
The owner is super sweet reminded me so much of being in the Philippines!
I am not sure how I never knew this place existed. But hey I know now! I got there soon as they opened and waited a few minutes to order. I ended up getting some ensaymada balls, Buko pie, Ube senorita bread ! I love the Buko pie it reminded me of the Philippines so much. Now that I know it's here I will be back more often to try more goodie!
Nice secret small bakery, the pastries was great, highly recommended.
I LOVE BUNSO BREADS BAKERY & CAFE! I'm also glad it's a place that I have to make a special trip out to get because I would be so chub chub if it was within ..... I don't know, 10min driving distance? haha I'd be here all the time. BUT because I am NOT there all the time, I buy A LOT when I come. What can I say? I love my ube.
This is a bit of a delayed post because I've been here at least a hand full of times since the pandemic, usually ordering ahead online (very convenient btw, and a good way to make sure you get everything you want- note that quantities are usually in dozens, but you can easily finish them all). However, this past Friday I happen to be in the area with my mom and decided to walk in and try our luck. Luckily the owner had a little of everything, so I indulged myself in.......everything. I walked in with my mom and the the owner was super sweet so we got to chat with her for a little bit.
I would not recommend walk in because if you don't come first thing, she will sell out of items you may want to try. So again, order ahead on the website- It's very convenient.
Items I would highly recommend:
- Ube senorita bread (good for a few days after if you keep it in the fridge and microwave it back for 15sec)
- Yema ensaymada (good for a few days after if you keep it in the fridge and microwave it back for 15sec)
- Ube cream cheese pillow bread (these don't keep as well so best consumed fresh! When it's fresh it's SO soft and good)
Other items I also enjoy:
- Ube crinkle cookies - though a tad too sweet for me sometimes, but flavor is good
- Coconut ube pie
Now get out there and support your small local bakery that is packed with delicious Filipino goodies!
