My husband and I just ate at The Bayou for the first time ever. The food was great! They have 3 different types of atmospheres. The service was wonderful!!! Our waiter was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd give it a 9 out of 10! The gumbo is good, I fell in love with there bottle caps, and they have really yummy macaroni and cheese bites. It actual macaroni and cheese! You can take te kids, too!
Good eats. My hubbie and I drove 60 miles to give this place a try since we are big Cajun/Creole fans. Not bad for Missouri! It took us two trips to find this place, but it was worth it. It might be out in the boonies, but it sure was hopping with customers. We ordered the whole crawfish, and got quite a large amount for $10. They were good, but cooked in too much butter for our taste. We like them naked, which doesn't cover up the delicate taste of the meat...and they were somewhat overcooked. We go to Nola alot, and we love crawfish...but, this is MO and ...it will pass. The gumbo was chock full of meat, which most we have had skimp on that ingredient. Very tasty too...and the cornbread! We love the sweet version they serve...reminds me of Tennessee or Arkansas...loved it...hate the Alabama bland style most places serve. Can't wait to go back and try something else.
Good Stuff!. Never had a bad meal in there.
