We were visiting on the Jersey Shore and friends suggested we visit Hoffman’s Ice Cream shop in Point Pleasant. I had read that once upon a time it had been one of the original Carvel stores but many years ago the owners decided to give up that franchise and focus on making their own ice cream. We were impressed with their flavors as well as their reasonable prices, especially for ice cream cakes! We purchased 2 pints: coffee Oreo and chocolate chip and both were delicious!
Classic ice cream spot in Point been coming here since I was a kid it's the best of the best. Some parking in the lot but be prepared to park on a side street and walk over in the summer. Grab a number to order (thank God they went with this the old line system was a nightmare). Tons of flavors and toppings I'm partial to the s'mores and brownie ala mode, but they have something for everyone. Staff is super friendly definitely my go-to ice cream spot in the area
When I arrived, it was packed. Service was fast and efficient. Root beer float was delicious. My son ate his soft serve and drank half my float!
For me this place was a highlight of our trip to point pleasant. Reading the reviews, I knew it would be good, but seeing all the flavors in person you can tell immediately the quality is top notch. We were staying the week so got some mixed and matched some flavors for quarts and pints. Was lucky to get the Jersey Monkey, was almost gone and could tell it was a big seller. Also enjoyed key lime pie, chocolate chip cheesecake, salted caramel pretzel, and espresso mocha chunk. I felt price was very fair for the location considering the exceptional quality, buying in bulk we enjoyed everyday
To not go to Hoffman's is like going to the beach and not putting your feet in the water. We live here you're around. And we always go to Hoffman's. Please come back with the beach plum ice cream in September. Love you guys. The Sonta family.
always the best at the shore. I love their seasonal flavors. recently tried the chocolate soda pop and it was very good. If you are adventurous, give it a try! Very bubbly and chocolate-y.
The creamiest most delicious ice cream at the Jersey Shore. The best price and size for kids as well. Kids size is $4.25 and HUGE. I haven’t gotten a flavor I didn’t like and it’s my go to place for a sweet treat.
This place has the best ice cream in town, it really has the richness you'd expect from homemade, the variety is exciting, and the staff is knowledgeable, quick and kind!
Nicely priced ice cream. Got the cookie dough and it wasn’t bad; but wasn’t a lot of cookie dough mostly just vanilla. I would definitely try again but with a different flavor.
We just bought a home in PPB and Hoffman's was on our short list of places to visit. Finally made it there on Valentine's Day with my wife mostly because they had coconut ice cream! Every bit as good and promised. going to enjoy it more before the summer crowds move in :)
Always a favorite place to visit. We have been coming here for over 15 years. Many varieties of ice cream. Service was fine. The floor and outside wall really need serious cleaning.
Delicious ice cream, coming here is always a summer highlight! I got the Cookie Monster ice cream and it was amazing, can't wait to try more flavors my next time down the shore.
There may be a long line inside but it moves pretty quickly. Whats there to say? Good ice cream, milkshakes and plenty of toppings. It's a great way to spend a day.
Amazing ice cream! We went about a half an hour before they closed and the line was nearly out the door but they got us through quickly. I ordered the Jersey monkey (banana ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter) and my boyfriend got the cookie monster (vanilla ice cream dyed blue with Oreos). It was so good! I live out of state but will definitely return anytime I'm in NJ.
Hoffman's lives up to the hype. We've never been disappointed by a flavor (even the sorbet here is delicious - for those lactose intolerant patrons). Our latest trip was yesterday - Feb. 17th - a cold, snowy night and the line was still to the door. Don't let that deter you, though, the staff is friendly & efficient. Off-season or on- there is always a huge assortment of flavors & toppings to choose from.
The ice cream is good. Probably the best choice in the Point Pleasant area. The staff is friendly, the line moves quick, the portions are generous and there’s no shortage of flavors to choose from. Stopped by recently after a few years and the sour milk smell inside the shop on this recent trip was really strong and unappetizing. Maybe locals and regulars are used to it but as a former ice cream shop employee (not Hoffman’s) I’m familiar with that smell coming from soft serve machines or the floors/mats beneath them not receiving regular cleanings. The shop seems clean in general but the sour milk smell hit like a brick wall upon entering. It’ll probably be a while before I return.
Ok so the ice cream is absolutely delicious, lots of flavors, great toppings. But the floor of the place was gross, like not washed in days, and the process was unorganized, and overpriced
