The restaurant has the best view and has outdoor and indoor seating. The wait for 2 people in a crowded restaurant was less than 10 minutes which was great. Parking is bad though have to drive around a few times to get lucky in getting a spot. The service is not the best. We had to ask to get our waiter after sitting at the table for 15 minutes without being greeted or asked for our drinks. The food was okay but a little pricey. Overall would recommend to try it out
My group ate outdoors in the "Out of the box" segment, so I do not know how it is inside.
The outdoor area is very active. The air is exciting. There is constant movement and the service is always running around. All things which are good depending on your expectation.
The food is fresh, and delicious. My group went for an early dinner, 16:00 (4pm) and we were seated in under 5 minutes, however shortly after that the place became full with many people waiting to be seated so I recommend arriving at or before 16:00.
Our server seemed to be stressed, and stretched thin between tables. The outdoor section was quite a distance from the kitchen so our server had to travel a bit to get to us. This also goes for the restroom, in order to get to the toilet we had to circle around back to the front door. It really feels like the outdoor section was put together during the events of 2020, and had not yet optimized it (but that's just an observation).
All together it is an enjoyable vibe, seated next to the water is always a plus. Keep in mind that parking is valet only, and you can only make reservations for groups larger than five people. Dogs are allowed which gives me thumbs up.
I really love this place and we took here our family who came to visit us from UK π¬π§. Everything was great and our waiter was very polite and attentive. We had table near the window πͺ we took trio broiled fish scallops and shrimps. Plus fried calamari. Dessert was carrot cake, ice cream and apple pie. All was tasty and fresh!!
Amazing food and great service.
We came here on a whim after Point Pleasant with the kids... Despite on a Saturday, we were quickly seated and the service was out of this world. Food came out quick, waitress was super nice and sweet. We ordered the trio, the salmon, mahi mahi, and scallops and they were pretty good in comparison to pricing. The white clam chowder is amazing!!!!!
I would definitely come back here!
Love this little restaurant; indoors and out! Great, fresh seafood dishes all year round and wonderful to dine outside and enjoy the sun and breeze by the water. Would definitely recommend!!
My family and cousins went here! The place and food were great! Also, the view was so pretty! I enjoyed watching the boats go by! For my meal I had coconut shrimp, rice, vegetables, and that was delicious! I also had rice pudding for dessert and that was really good too!
We enjoyed very good seafood meals. We ordered off the Sunset Dinners section of the menu, which provided soup or salad, beverage, and dessert with our meal. We loved sitting by the windows with the picturesque views of the Inlet.
If you ever get a chance to visit Point Pleasant the Shrimp Box is the place to go. The food was phenomenal and the drinks were hefty! I've been waiting to go here for years and finally went. You will NOT be disappointed! Food pictured is a crab π¦ sandwich, stuffed flounder π and calamari π!
Went there for the first time last week ( during the week) All the selections are reasonable prices, well prepared and taste good. Nice seaport vibe on the water. Service was great. Great cocktails as well.
Had a wonderful meal there. The service was superb. The softshell crabs were great as was the flounder francese.
To be honest, it definitely was not my favorite and I had much higher expectations for this venue. It was overall good but most likely won't be returning here. We ordered the crab cake for appetizer, a coca cola, pina colda frozen to start. The crab cake came with just one crab cake, a spicy white sauce and cole slaw. The main dishes was a lobster pasta which was good and broiled stuffed shrimp that was not the best. The view and service was definitely the best part of the experience!
One of my favorite lunch spots near the inlet. Everything we ordered was good -- New England clam chowder was on point! We got to dinner early around 445p and were able to order off the sunset menu which has great deals, you get a meal for a reduced priced and it comes with soup/ salad, coffee, dessert, really can't beat it. Salmon, Mahi, fish and chips were all excellent. I order fish and chips from a ton of places and they do it right here. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area.
Ate there on recommendation from a friend. Didn't get to enjoy view of the boats / water as it gets dark early now. Your atmosphere now is just the inside which wasn't impressive as very basic. . It was a bit of a rough start as the waitress wasn't overly friendly but by the end it was a much better experience. It is about the food and everyone in our group was pleased with their meal. The Halibut dish was π. Prices were reasonable, drinks were good. Just wished we ate earlier to enjoy the view. Worth a try if you like seafood !!!!
The best place to have a great lunch or dinner in Point Pleasant. "Sunset dinners" are reasonably priced and come with soup or salad, entree, choice of potato and veg, soda, and dessert! You can't beat the selection, but you need to be there before 5 pm for the special priced dinners. The regular menu is extensive, and there's something for everyone! The drinks are wonderful too! Best Manhattan !
Plenty of parking, if the main lot is full there's an overflow across the street. Welcoming interior plenty of waiting space before you get to the main dining area. Hostess was super friendly and the updated interior looks great (haven't been here in a while). Waterfront seats are a plenty here and I was lucky enough to snag a window seat right by the water on a Saturday night. Cool drink list with some specials. Server was friendly and attentive, we skipped apps and went right to mains. linguini with clam sauce was great I loved the garlic crostini on the side and the broth, but the stuffed flounder was the star of the show! Will definitely be back
Best soft shell crab Iβve ever had. Look how perfect it is! Hats off to the chef. We stopped on the way in from fishing and docked outside for free while we ate.
My family enjoyed our time celebrating Father's Day the day before, and had a wonderful time. I got the Filet Mignon and Shrimp Cocktail which were both delicious. We got to eat outside and have a great view of the ships and water. The menu can be as reasonable as you want to make it depending on what you order. The staff were very awesome and a great place to dine at "the shore!"
Obsessed with The Shrimp Box. Their staff always make an attempt to sit everyone by the windows, which is really thoughtful. I love watching the boats come in and out of the bay. I've never sat outside, but would like to this summer. Prices are amazing for "The Sunset Dinner". I always have leftovers and bring the dessert home. I've tried many things off "The Sunset Dinner" menu, and have never been disappointed. The photos are of the half-stuffed lobster, the flounder francese, and the broiled flounder (not pictured is the amazing bread, calamari, New England Clam Chowder, salad, chocolate cake, and apple crumb cake). Service is quick and friendly. Thanks for making special days more special.
