Reviews John And Elaine's Restaurant

Great for Kids!!!. I strongly disagree with the last reviewer. I have been taking my kids to John and Elaine's since they were babies. They are now 12 and 9. John greets them when they come in, stops by to chat with them, and gives out lollipops on occasion. My kids do have ipads and sometimes we talk and sometimes they play. I must admit, my kids would never handle and finger every jelly and sugar packet at the table, because they know this is wasteful, unsanitary and rude to those who will come after us. But I would definitely recommend John and Elaine's as a family restaurant for anyone with reasonably well behaved kids!

First time in Point Pleasant actually looking for another breakfast place we Googled, but couldn't find it; instead found this gem! THE BEST Eggs Benedict I ever had! Big muffins toasted well done; poached eggs were perfect; hollandaise on point! It was SO good! Went to return on Monday b4 going home, but theyre closed Mondays...😞

I stopped by this nifty cash only diner for the first time today. This place is very clean and has such a wonderful ambiance. The service and food is really good and the prices on the limited menu are extremely reasonable. I will most certainly be back again the next time I drive down to Point Pleasant.

Stacey rocks, and so does Ralph, the chef. While on vacation, we always try to walk to restaurants to get in some exercise and walk off a great meal. Our family tree has an Aunt Elaine whose married to Uncle John and we happened to notice this place. Read the terrible reviews first for the nasty comments and then enjoyed my awesome breakfast to now offer my personal opinion. The $5 small glass of OJ is FRESH SQUEEZED and not from concentrate! The owner and waitresses are pure joy and so sweet and pleasant. The chef does it up right. The homemade breakfast potatoes are just like mama made and the prices are just right. Best part, I crave pancakes now and again and theirs was best I’ve had in ages. Light, fluffy and taste like home. I always tell folks to sit down and try a meal; in the end it’s all according to what you like and you’re never going to know if you don’t try something!

This restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The wait staff was very pleasant and did a great job. The food was great. We had a party of seven, and there was a ham and cheese omelette with toast, there were some egg sandwiches, there were pancakes and other egg dishes ordered, and my wife and I enjoyed a egg and cheese pork roll sandwich which was really very good. I ordered the hot corned beef and pastrami sandwich on rye, and I have to say it is the best one I've ever tasted. I have been to Jack's of Lombard Street in Baltimore Maryland which was a staple growing up, but this sandwich here at John and Elaine's was absolutely epic. There was little to no fat on the sandwich and it was the most tender and great tasting one that I've had in a long long time. I would almost drive from Virginia to this place just to get another one. The coleslaw that accompanied my sandwich was also excellent. We will be back. This is an all cash restaurant, so plan ahead but it is well worth it.

I just love the mom&pop shops. We serve our neighbors, one at a time. Hat off to you all. Great all around. I searched for one of these restaurants on Google, while down there after my dog lite my house on fire, but that's another story. While in Pt.Pleasant,I found this a couple miles up the road. I'm just saying it's like homely atmosphere & food. Great food, great people 💯 hands down.

We absolutely love John & Elaine’s restaurant as do our children. It’s nice to see a multi-generational family owned and operated restaurant. The team is wonderful and very accommodating with food allergies. We highly recommend!

A Jersey shore staple hidden in Point Pleasant Beach. Great breakfast, offers lunch as well. As a local I've been coming for years. Interior is a bit dated but charming. Food comes reasonably quick. Pretty busy on weekends and peak tourist times. We had trouble flagging our server down after getting our food, but other than this the service is nice. You'll have a good meal here.

The coveted run-down-but-safe feeling is something a place earns, not creates. Love the feeling of the place. The food is cooked PROPERLY!!! 1. My toast actually had butter and was still warm. 2. The French toast recipe is delicious. Thin white bread, perfectly soaked and grilled, wonderful balance of butter, cinnamon, vanilla and powdered sugar on top. 3. Eggs over easy were completely cooked on the outside, unbroken, and the yolk was still liquid and warm. That is a skill lost on most diner grill cooks. Bravo! 4. my bacon was cooked soft as I requested it. MMM 5. Saff is attentive without being obtrusive and everyone had a smile for me. Thank you!

Their blueberry pancakes are to die for. I love their hot pastrami. The meat is tender and juicy just like my mother taught me to make. Portions are generous. I look forward to joining my friends there every week.

And this post I have five points to make.. first off.. we were sat immediately. My wife was in a bit of a hurry so that was convenient. Second off.. The server was on top of her game.. very fast.. very polite and prompt.. kept our glasses full... Third all the volumes were at the appropriate levels. I could see the closed caption on the television to keep up with that and listen to the disco music that was playing in the background. Easy for conversation.. forth.. the reasonable prices. Two people orange juice, apple juice, milk and endless cups of coffee. Good stuff.. Enough said about that... Last but not least.. The food was very good. The bananas were fresh. The brown sugar was not Lumpy.. the oatmeal came out piping hot.. Every time a dish came out of the kitchen it looked very good like something I may get next time I visit. I do recommend this place for breakfast period. Something you could enjoy with your family or for a quick bite to eat. It was all very enjoyable.

Brought my two children, 5 and 1 with me, the staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. The food was extremely good, my 5 year old recommends the grilled cheese, 1 year old the fries. I can't recommend the pastrami reuben enough. Cash only.

The food was really good. I had the Jersey eggs benedict which had three eggs! The eggs were poached perfectly. I don't always get my poached eggs done correctly so I was happy. My husband had the French toast and it was delicious. Yes of course I had to take a bite. I went for the fresh squeezed orange juice and was pleased. The prices on this website are old. It said the eggs benedict Was $11.95 but we were charged 14.95. It also said the large fresh squeezed orange juice was 5.50, but we were charged $8.99. They only take cash so be prepared. Very friendly staff. I would give them a try. It was worth the money.
