Pretty close to authentic Italian pizza. (I've never been to Italy so take that with a grain of salt, slice of lime and a shot of tequila) Loved it! Great service.

Top notch, I’ve been coming to Big Louie’s for probably 25 yrs anytime I’m in the area and it’s always as good as the last visit. Best garlic knots in the country.

I love the place and my favorite is the Chicken piccata, so very good.
Lunch prices are very reasonable.
Locals know the place.

I get their Meatball parm. The fries arent very good that comes with it for 10 or 11 bucks. I wish I could order just the sub for 9 bucks, or have a side salad instead of those Mcdonald type fries .

I've been eating at Big Louie's for many years and it's only gotten better. The pizza is great but don't be afraid to try the classics. Chicken/Veal parm dinner (or sub) is also a great choice. Foods good, nice portions and decent prices.

Pizza's New York style and always delicious. Go inside with your family sit down and have a great meal! My kids always love the garlic rolls there they're always a big hit.

Read other reviews but didn't the their word. From the NY area so I know pizza will never be the same here. But its pretty good and worth another trip to. Service was very good, pizza and mozz stix better then expected. Garlic knots 👍🏻👍🏻
Soda..... little pricey at almost $3 per on fountain. If it wasn't for that would have been very reasonable price. Inside reminds me of an old school Italian joint.
Only negative was a couple loud mouth patrons that sous have been asked to leave causing a scene

This pizza is delicious! I’ve been coming here for over five years and it has not once disappointed me. I always get the large pepperoni… add mushrooms green pepper and onion. DELICIOUS!!!
The bbbq wings are good also. Definitely recommend.

WOW!!!! I had the focaccia pizza and it was the best pizza I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, reasonable prices, fast service. Highly recommend!!

This is a quintessential "Italian joint" serving up classic Italian fare.
The parm dishes are excellent, but the real standout at BL is the pizza. They don't try to emulate some unreasonable standard of "new York style" that nobody can ever attain (including pizza joints in the city itself), but instead opt for their own style of pizza and it's very, very good. Great gooey cheese and high quality toppings, it's classic pizza but better made. I recommend trying it. Now, is it "the best new York style pizza this side of the Hudson"? No, it's not. Nothing in the world can be that. But is it among the better pizzas you'll try in South Florida? Yes.
The service here is phenomenal too. Incredibly friendly staff make you feel like family, and everybody is funny and kind. This is a real "family style" experience in that sense.
BL is a little different at every restaurant and I've only been to the Pompano location so your mileage may vary. If you can make it to the Pompano location though, you won't be disappointed.

For years I’ve passed this place, years, never went in, even before I lived in Florida and would visit my in laws , would pass it, see it, even think it was kinda neat but not even thought about finding there. Tonite I decided that I’ll give it a shot, went with my whole family, in total 9 of us. Now we’ve been to most of the restaurants in the area and sure there’s some good stuff around but this place was really cozy, the atmosphere was very pleasantly curtailed, there were lots of small details, some cliche, some kitsch, some completely out of place but it all worked, if I was going to film an Italian restaurant this would definitely be one of the locations I’d consider…besides all the scenery, the brass tacks…the food. Good, home style like Nonna made, even if you’re not Italian and don’t know what a Nonna is, it will bring you back to some hill side villa in Tuscany and a memory of a past life you didn’t even know was there, good stuff, specially the pizza. Now to my favorite part…the service, felt like I was at an aunts house, excellent, felt very at home, very familiar even though it was our first time there…the prices were, my god, so reasonable, when we got the check I was sweating cold because my wife had told me from the very beginning to keep my pants on tight because we’re inviting…comes the bill…I don’t even wanna know I’m just putting my hand out with my card and be just like “take my money” but then I opened my eyes and saw the check and I wanted to cry…I seriously wanted to cry, I thought it was 1990…I thought I had time travelled to a time where prices were reasonable and fair for the food you get…but honestly it was better than that because the food and service was worth a lot more but I was very happy with the whole experience, left our waitress 30%, she was excellent, good place to go with the family for some home style Italian. Good place.

I use to order food from this restaurant often. I feel like it went down hill. The pizza is cold by the time I get it to the table. When I place an order to pick up they always seem to forget something, so I end up driving back. The food quality is not what it use to be, which is upsetting because I use to order chicken parmigiano or francaise and the past few times has been horrible. The management at this establishment is awful. They are disrespectful to there staff.

Rudness and cold pie. I will never go to this place again . The staff is extremely rude has no idea what the meaning of good customer service skills are. My husband and i were served two slices of cold pizza, when i asked to speak with management a woman got on the phone and said to me"what do you want me to do"

Definitely worth stopping in! all of the staff was extremely friendly & attentive! the restaurant has a ton of character, so it's also a fun experience! the food is amazing, and the pizzas are very unique! I strongly reccommend the chicken primavera! if you want great pizza and wonderful service, this is the place :)

Glad i tried this pizza resturant. Ive been driving by this place a long time and was reluctant to try it. ive had bad experinces with most south florida italian resturants. but this place made me sorry i didnt stop in a year and half ago. i enjoyed everything i ate. i ordered the eggplant hero with french fries 2 times in 1 week. $6.99 . the garlic rolls were the only problem they are soaking in hot oil . i dont see the reason for them to be soaked in grease. the service was ok. nothing fancy inside just a normal mom and pop place to eat.

Over priced for the cheap quality food they serve. Nothing special. After living in NY and knowing good Italian this place is awful. Theyre also extremely understaffed. 2 waittresses foe the whole restaurant we were waiting foe the bill and boxes a good 15 min. This place is a waste of time and money.

I've loved eating here for about 15 years and always make sure for the past ten years that I stop here whenever I come in from Brooklyn. However tonight I met the owner and manager Natali (spelling). I have never dealt with such a rude manager. Instead of asking what I wanted in place of my supposed fresh mozzarella cheese pizza, he yelled " There's nothing else I can do for you! If I made this again it would look the same!" And stormed off into the kitchen where he continued to yell. I will now think twice about coming here. Worst experience in a restaurant ever!! How does a manager not try to help fix the issue, especially a simple one of changing cheese on a pizza?!?

Very nice. Friendly fast clean and homely. Had the eggplant rollatine appetizer. Chicken diablo and the garlic rolls were divine.

Bad Experience Today!. I stopped by Big Louie's to get a meatball sub. While waiting, I observed an employee in the kitchen area dipping his fingers multiple times into a vat of red sauce..No gloves...bare hands. I quickly brought this to the attention of the cashier who went back and screamed at someone to "take this sauce away". Upon her return to the cashier's spot, I asked if she knew which one was doing this and she said yes. ( No apology given) So I said "and no one is wearing gloves" Her response. "They are required to change their gloves every 3 seconds" I asked who the boss is and she replied that she is the general manager, so I said "this is a health issue" whereupon she told me to go and get my meatball sub somewhere else! The customer waiting behind me requested her money back and left as well.( p.s. while I was waiting there was a call from a customer who was told if he brought back the pizza she would give him his money back and hung up.)<br/>Who owns this place? I have ordered pizzas in the past by phone from Big Louie's but never again. You decide if you want to eat at this place.

After living in NYC for four years or so, I'm picky. Got the spaghetti with meat sauce... Great service, great food. I was impressed. Leather serving with three spoon and fresh sauce.. Will be back for a pie, which were flying out the door by the way

Was headed to the Sugar Chest Antique Mall down the street and pull into Big Louie's totally at random. Service was rapid and cheerful. We chose to sit down rather than take out. We ordered the appatizer sampler, garlic rolls and a large Caprese Pizza between three people. The appatizer sampler was hot fresh and quick. This was a platter of calimari, fried cheese, fried Zuchini and a very tasty tomato sauce that is likely the same sauce they use on the pizza. The garlic rolls were ok but seemed hard and I have to wonder if they had been microwaved to freshen them up. The real star was the pizza. The New York style thin crust was homemade and well executed. Topped with real mozzerella cheese, fresh tomato chunks and fresh basil, the pizza was truly wonderful. The restaurant is dated inside and looks like something out of the 60s or 70s. As well, it looks the the place could benefit from a proper scrubbing as signs of long, hard use without much cleaning was in evidence. Notice the spring in the booth seat that goosed the seated. Notice the greasy surfaces and grease encrusted mens room door. Regardless, the pizza was amazing and worth the stop. I give Big Louie'S a conditional recommendation. They need to clean the joint up but the pizza was memorable and worth the trip. Try their pizza and you'll agree.

While in South Florida, I ordered take out from an Italian restaurant called Big Louie's Pizzeria in Pompano Beach. I ordered a medium Margherita Pizza. This pie was topped with tomato sauce, basil, and fresh mozzarella cheese. I probably should have ordered a normal cheese pie since I really couldn't detect what the $2 upcharge was for over a plain pizza. I suppose it was the fresh mozzarella, but nothing about the pie really stood out. Not to say this was a bad pie. It was actually a pretty good pizza (especially considering that this was cooked on a conveyor belt oven - normally a sign of mediocre pizza). I don't why, I just was expecting something a little different from a normal cheese pie when I ordered the Margherita.
