I lament the demise of the mighty diner on Long Island. Once mighty 24 hour oasis’s that drew in patrons like sailors to sirens in tales of yesteryear. So finding this little gem in Port Washington was a happy treasure. Service was courteous and prompt. The family atmosphere was warm and inviting. Portions and prices were great. I am one that values what I get for my money. This place did not disappoint. You won’t leave hungry. My breakfast came out quick and it was piping hot. I normally don’t eat the toast but ended up eating both slices- with jelly even. I always say eat what is worth eating. Please give them a try, it’s right across from the port Washington train station. You won’t be disappointed. Check out the photos, it was even better in person

Under new management and it was a delight to have a meal here. They now serve dinner too! Space was bright, clean and all safety protocols for covid was put in place here as well.
They make a proper chocolate egg cream which I was really happy with. And price to portion size is great. The chicken noodle soup is a must order and so is there patty melt and open faced turkey sandwich! Our server was quick, efficient and very friendly and a ton of to go packages were lined up on the counter as well. Great location since it's right across the street from the train station too. Will definitely be back! Eat local!
I ate an awesome Reuben sandwich there one night. Hit the spot! Generous portions and great service from friendly staff. Port Washington has a lot of good options for food, but this place is right next to the LIRR station. Full diner menu with some local options.
I read that their Carrot Cake was a must have so I had try since it happens to be one of my favorites! Very impressed.
Manhattan Clam Chowder was a hit too.
I arrived with a party of 14 without prior notice, and the staff were great at setting up a large table for us and provided excellent service. They were attentive and friendly and the food came out on time. The food was absolutely delicious and came in large portions. I was particularly in love with the matzo ball soup and sausages that came with my deluxe breakfast order. Everyone in my group was extremely satisfied with their experience. Thank you to the staff for seating us all and and providing great service. I highly recommend this diner. If we didn't live so far away I would come here all the time!
Went in for some waffles, eggs and bacon and it was great. I enjoyed it. The server was friendly and the service was quick, granted there was only one other person in there. My meal was not expensive at all and I would recommend the Haven Diner to anyone looking for a quality affordable meal.
Always a friendly spot! Good food and fast service! My mother loves it. Recommend for anyone that needs clean eats and a non pretentious setting. Non stop coffee refills. Right across the street from the train station. Family owned. Quiet crowd. The sausage and bacon are perfectly cooked. Eggs bennedict are out of this world. Great for meetings and catching up with family and friends. Recommend to all!!! Support local businesses!

Linda and Tommy are great. I eat breakfast there 3x s week. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The service is top notch and the prices are very fair, and the diner is comfortable and pleasant.
Great local diner, love the retro feel of it. Food isn't the greatest, but still serves up good quality classic fare. Definitely my preferred place to go for an omelette, its cheap and quiet. I just wish they were open later!
I love Haven! It's a trueblue diner. Food is always great, service is amazing - they treat you like family. It's a tucked away well kept secret, but shouldn't be as they deserve much success!

I know the chef and new owner from enjoying his recipes when he was the head chef at the Williston Park Townhouse Diner. I thoroughly my meal and service last night. Very moderately priced yep delicious food I had the steak and eggs and my friend had the corn beef hash they were both very good people that work there are very friendly and courteous I would definitely go back there
Really great place. New management has improved the food, quality and atmosphere. Lots of choices on the menu. Highly recommend!
