I had the Baby Cheesus. It was so yummy and satisfying. The grilled bread, melted cheese and burger were combined perfectly. It’s craveable goodness.
Grilled cheese at its best it's that simple. When arriving ask what the special is. You can sit in a giant school bus but we chose the patio. The bread is grilled to perfection and tomatoes were fresh. Come very hungry and try The Cheesus. It's a foodies dream sandwich!
Went there with our two kids and they loved it. The grilled cheeses definitely had a lot of butter which probably made it so good. We sat outside because the whether was great but the revamped school bus with all the yearbook pictures on the tables and counters was tempting. We will definitely be back.
Quick, inexpensive, yummy interesting combinations. I had basic grilled cheese. Yummy. My friend had Apple Brie bacon on sourdough. Delicious!
OMG!!. Best grilled cheese ever!!!
The shocker is delicious!
Exceed My Expectations!. I have heard good things about the Grilled Cheese Grill. So, I took my college age son there for lunch yesterday. He had been there before and really liked it. We both had the B.L.T.G.C. I added the grilled onions on mine. It was very good. Actually, it was great! Both girls working the cart were friendly and helpful. Being right on Alberta, I didn't notice the traffic all that mush. It was mid week, so a weekend may be a little distracting. Of coarse, the food is so good, I doubt I'd care.
This place brought out my inner fat kid
A place that sells only grilled cheese? You bet! This "hole in the wall" food truck is really a cool place that I'm glad I tried. 17 kinds of Grilled Cheese from plain to Jalapeño Popper. I give it two thumbs up.
Grilled Sammy Heaven. I am generally in love with grilled sandwiches but this was amazing. Bread is filled with quality ingredients. Eating in a bus is super fun. Especially great after a drink at the Bye and Bye.
Good late night pick. This is exactly the type of thing I want to be eating if I've been out all night. Happened upon here after doing just that and left satisfied. There's a lot more choices on the menu than I was expecting, so I guess that's a reason to keep coming back. The bus is also kinda cozy/funky.
It's hard to imagine something like this working in a lot of other cities, but that's what I love about Portland.
Fabulous!. How can you say no to eating grilled cheese in a bus?! Awesome menu, prices, staff, and atmosphere. I love it!!!
OMFG, this place rules... SO delicious!
So delicious!!!!! Great sandwiches, reasonably priced and a great time eating on the bus!

Nobody f@#%s with the Cheesus! Seriously, just order it. You'll hate yourself later. I did. But it was SO worth it.
So good.. I love that place. Foods good, employees are nice and the music in the bus is at a good level (i hate it when the music is so quiet you can barely hear it). Bring a friend and get the fromage et trois deal. Yummmy.
YUM!. Love the Fat Elvis! late at night after a belly full of booze. Went back the next morning because we left all sorts of thing at a neighboring bar and were very sad :( because they weren't open yet. we were ready for seconds. had to catch a flight back home or we would have stuck around. Great food and good people.
Okay a place that serves up grilled cheese sandwiches? Come on. But I had to see it for myself. Okay, a school bus for a place to eat in? Still, I had to find out why such high ratnigs. Bottom line: Go and find out for yourself. I will be coming back for some very creative and delcious food!
How are the grilled cheese sandwiches? In a word: perfect. Exactly the right amount of crunch, without being too greasy, with plenty of gooey cheese oozing out of the sides when you pull it apart. I had the Woody , which is Tillamook cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions, and mushrooms on white bread. We also ordered a cup of tomato soup on the side.
The Grilled Cheese Grill is technically a food truck. But really, it’s much more than that. There is a truck, in which the food is ordered and prepared, but there is also an outdoor sitting area with tables, and a cool school bus/dining car where you can eat indoors.
The Grilled Cheese Grill is a food cart located in inner NE Portland that serves up the traditional variety along with some added sandwiches to please everyone's palette. You really can't miss this cart with the big yellow school bus that sits on the corner of Alberta and NE 10th Ave. I love that they play non kid friendly music on the bus and all the graphic artwork along the ceiling and walls is something a child might have nightmares about while napping. It's kid friendly but alterna inspired just like the neighborhood it sits in. My favorite savory sandwich is called The Southsider (pictured above) consisting of artichokes, sun-dried tomato, mozzarella and mushrooms on grilled sourdough bread for $5. There are plenty of picnic tables outside and a full size bus for seating so there is enough room to accommodate the crowds even when it's raining. Why else do I love this place? Well they have a cute guy named Cameron working there although I can't guarantee he'll still be around by t
...you can always tell the quality of a deli or sandwich shop by the quality of their pickles, and this place is no exception. Accompanying each of the sandwiches was a fairly large slice, of an obviously much larger deli pickle.
If you’re ever driving through Portland on I-5 and somewhere around the Alberta exit you’re overcome with a deep, burning desire for a grilled cheese, I know a place you can go to trip the light fantastic. It’s the Grilled Cheese Grill, and do they ever d
Who can pass up a restaurant that only features grilled cheese sammiches? Not I. Especially when one choice is the Cheesus Burger, a 1/3 pound burger with two grilled cheese sammiches in lieu of buns? Now that's a mouthful! Also sampled, the "Gabby", four
When I heard about a grill dedicated to two of God’s greatest accomplishments—bread and cheese, I thought to myself—“get me there now!” Aside from being on the depressingly gentrified Alberta St. (which don’t even get me started on . . .) this grill has s

I have the song "Puff, the Magic Dragon" stuck in my head. It's been there since about 6:30 Tuesday night, when I ate dinner in a school bus. The Grilled Cheese Grill opened on Monday. An Airstream-ish trailer, with a canopy attached. No ordinary food car
The Grilled Cheese Grill is a great spot for late night drinks and delicious food. My friends and I visited at 1 am and the drinks and food were still made with love. The cook in the open window was especially friendly, and explained where everything was without me needing to ask. I will definitely visit again!
Really enjoy the grilled cheese. The Knock Back is a great host bar and both vegetarians and omnivores can find great options as well as gluten-free bread and chips.
My dad took me here when I was younger and I still remember it because it was so good
