Oh my goodness. Incredible. Such amazing flavor. My mouth and tum are so happy. The tikka + rice + naan were 10/10. Absolutely delicious flavors and outstanding service and friendliness from the crew. Can't wait to come back. Also, careful of the habanero chutney; it's spicyyyyyy!
An interesting place: comparatively small and bit narrow, busy, quick and fast service.
Went to dine alone on an evening- but all seats were full. Few were waiting upstairs. Tip 1: reserve ahead.
I opted for take away. It was ready very quick. Tip 2: if you are short on time, take away could save you time.
Food was tasty and Baingan Bartha just melted in mouth. Curry Quantity was also adequate but rice was not enough- may be its a Portland thing (found with other restaurant as well).
Limited parking options. Public transportation could be a good option. Decor is good and refreshing.
Cozy space with great Indian dishes. I come here all the time. Make sure you get the nan-bread. Best thing on the menu in my opinion.
Delicious food, great service. I came here alone and they were super nice and kind. My partner met up with me and even tho they were very busy on Christmas Eve, they were kind and sweet and prompt at serving us. Thank you
I Really enjoyed our dinner here! Some new dishes that we had not tried before, and some old favorites too. Rosemary naan bread was delicious too. Large portion sizes, so there is lunch for tomorrow too!
Great value.
Everything In this restaurant deserves 5 stars.Ambience, super cool service, food taste, food portions, location and finally order delivered within minutes,Best vegetarian restaurant in town.wish we have one like this in my City of Tampa.
I was nervous about eating Indian curry without meat... But boy-oh-boy did I not miss lamb or beef or chicken!!! Vegetarian/vegan menu, & unbelievably well flavored. Not too much spice, not too much salt, but the perfect balance of flavors! Try the side sauce of house-made habanero chutney. The perfect heat to add bit by bit to your dish!!! We will be back!!!
Oh man. What a treat.
I went on the recommendation of a friend who hyped it up, well.. Maruti delivered. Everything is vegetarian and so many things can be made vegan and gluten free.
A big motivator for me was the gf naan, it was perfect with the tikka masala.
Our initial host was a delight, very kind and welcoming.
Overall, great experience in this cozy, intimate environment. I will definitely return, perhaps sooner than I had originally expected.
Fabulous food! I haven’t eaten so tasty Indian food cooked with so little oil and spices. We could understand the quality of ingredients they used for cooking. Overall, very nice job and in the same league with super expensive Indian restaurants we have been to in NYC and SF. Keep it up!
P.S. Any chance you are coming to Seattle? Otherwise, we have to make a trip down to Portland every month 😂
This was a good Indian restaurant, however I was a bit let down by the flavors as they seemed a bit too overpowering. The vegan mango lassi was good, but it came in a small glass. The samosa chole was excellent however the chole were a bit undercooked. The Paneer Tikka Masala was tasty and the sauce was excellent. The Baingan Bharta was a bit too smoky and salty in flavor which made it almost too bitter to enjoy with naan. The naan was well prepared and the rosemary garlic naan was an interesting new twist on the usual options.
This is the most perfect little restaurant. I’ve been going for years and decided it is my favorite restaurant in Portland. The food is consistently delicious, the servers (including occasionally the owners) are consistently kind and attentive — it’s just a confluence of all the right things in a place to have a wonderful dinner. It’s a great date night place with warm and romantic ambiance, but not too romantic if you know what I mean. It’s popular and small, so you can probably expect a little wait if you don’t have a reservation (which they only do for parties 6+), but not *too* popular. The tikka masala is definitely the star, and I’ve tried both the dairy and vegan options and they are both delicious. I typically get it with potato, since the other dish I often get is palak paneer with the cheese. Spring for the naan, you will need it to mop up the extra tikka masala sauce. And all the appetizers are also amazing, I almost always get the onion potato pakora and rotate out the others. Yum. Thank you Maruti for being fabulous!
Had this for the first time on Tuesday. Loved it, had it again today. Will probably have it again next week. Delicious. I don't even like tofu but the Tika Masala is a 10/10
Folks!!!! This is a must try restaurant in Portland area. A lot of vegan options. Everything thay we ordered was delicious. This place has a beautiful cozy ambiance. My favorite was the Baileys Chai. Their chai cheesecake was also delicious. Make sure you make reservation ahead.
My wife and I went her for dinner and we were more than delighted with our experience. Staff was very nice. Their food is authentic, tasty, but also healthy and good on the stomach. Like how they make some common famous Indian dishes in more lighter but sumptuous way. The portions could be a bit more considering the size. Overall we were very happy with trying out this place. We had the Paneer Tikka masala, baingan bharta and some Naan.
Loved the spicy habanero sauce and chole bhature! Thanks for having us!
Food was fantastic, everything we ordered was hot, fresh, and delicious. While I’m not personally a vegetarian, I enjoyed every single dish we tried and would put this at the top of my favorite Indian restaurants in Portland.
Amazing, home-cooked Indian food that'll keep you coming back. The space is small but cozy with a bar. The food isn't die for with authentic, well balanced flavors and not at all oily. This is what mom makes at home. The owners are passionate about what they make and it shows. The biryani is a must-try dish. Helpful and polite staff.
