Omg the food is so so good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Even on a super busy Sunday the kitchen was prompt. Really enjoyed this place a lot. Totally recommend the ‘Elvis Sighting’ and the chicken fried steak.

Family friendly lunch. Excellent Coffee Wink*Wink*, Bloody Mary, and Milkshake. Food is always great. Our server, Devin, is cute as a button and on top of her game. I always ask for the booths in the front as the back corner is a bit dark and I am a people watcher. Our "go to" in Downtown Portland for reasonably priced, tasty brunch.
Great atmosphere. Awesome selection of music played in background. The staff was very friendly and helpful... Especially Keiffer. Thoroughly enjoyed my burger and chili cheese fries with a very tasty five flowers tea. I will definitely visit again and make one of my regular after work spots.

Always a delightful, delicious experience here - the waitstaff is a good balance of attentive + unobtrusive and always able to answer questions & give details about dishes. The food & drinks are tasty + unique but not pretentious, and the variety of options terrifically satisfying. This is my no-fail go-to for meeting up with friends downtown.

Went here after the Heart & Stroke Walk. While my meal was not the heart healthiest I could have chosen, it was the most delicious! Biscuit with gravy--heavenly! And the service was excellent!

BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD! I am so glad I let my husband talk me into trying it! The waitress was kind and helpful, the food was insane! My husband loved his chicken and jalapeno waffles and my chicken fried steak was HEAVEN! It was a real steak with red in the middle, so darn good!
Came for the Christmas pop-up and it was great! There is a limited food menu but we liked our dinner. The drinks were very, very good and they even had special fun glassware for each.
My friends and I were walking around downtown and stumbled across this place for a drink. The bartender was amazing and even went out of his way to make a shot that we all love back home!
We came here for breakfast at 3PM. First timers to the area, not familiar with which places serve breakfast all day. Gave these guys a go and we were delighted.
The special milkshake of the day was vanilla with pretzels and caramel. It’s hand dipped and comes with the extra milkshake served on the side - basically a full second milkshake!! Perfect for sharing.
I got the veggie burger with avocado and a side of tomato soup. The veggie patty had full peas and bits of carrots and spinach, so good. Matt got the Breakfast Lager that came with sausage, bacon, eggs and hash browns. The sausage wasn’t the best, lacking in flavor or something.
The peppermint tea was incredible. Loose leaf in a bag, Steven Smith Teamaker, a local brand.
Thank you for being a spotless restaurant. So clean. Every corner was dust free and nothing was sticky or greasy. Even the hot sauce bottles looked new!
Great atmosphere and awesome people. I got a burger and a milkshake, but not just any ordinary milkshake, a Salty Jim bourbon milkshake. That changed the way I looked at ice cream and bourbon forever. I could drink that every day. For the burger, I had the Squealer and it was alright. Honestly, for a burger with a fried egg (not runny, unfortunately) and pickled red onion, it was surprisingly lacking in flavor. I also shared the Chicken and Waffle Sliders and I should have just stuck with that because it was inventive and quite tasty.
I was very impressed!!! In route I always use there restroom.. It very convenient. So I decided it's more than time to try them out.. I ordered a dirty martini. These are easy to mess up! The Bar tender made it excellently!! Yumm!! Then I ordered some wings. Smokey and delicious, and lots of them! The service was beyond exception. The Host was a BOSS!! Love this place.
We went for breakfast and we were also in a hurry but they got the food out with time to spare! I got the tofu scramble which was seasoned to perfection and my partner got the veggie hash bake. Both were very filling and the food came out quickly. Love the ambiance there too.

Nice place to grab some drinks downtown. The Redhead in Bed was a little sweet for my taste. Violet, You’re Turning Violet was spot on. The wings are smokey, spicy and absolutely delicious. Fun atmosphere.
Great service! I like the food... My wife loves the place. It had been awhile since we went and they now have an arcade upstairs! My 16 month old son had a blast and the server was SUUUUUUUUPERRRR nice to him. We went upstairs afterwards and played some retro games. Killer view upstairs of that part of town. I would go back again.
Stayed the weekend in Portland, couldn't have been happier with our stay. This diner was a great hang out, and the food was spot on. I will be back for more chicken and waffles!! And if you're a retro game nerd like me, hit up the modern take on Pong upstairs! The entire staff was on point!
Second time here and still liking it. Kids had milkshakes which are delicious. But limited on beer selection but managed a good Ipa. I had chicken and waffles sliders from app menu and wife got small Cobb. Both were very tasty. Perfect size if you're not super hungry. Staff is young, cute and friendly. Atmosphere is an updated, modern diner. If like to try breakfast next time.
This place is great! Great diner food and variety. Cool atmosphere and really friendly service. I would definitely come back here if I'm in the area. I'd recommend making a reservation, which you can do from Google Maps, so you don't have to wait when you get here.

Upscale place as part of the hotel. I ask Ed for gluten free options and they accommodated the menu to meet my request. Food is good. The tomato soup tastes great and my hamburguer is good looking. Service was fast
Not very busy, but the food was good. Rolled out some new dishes, including overnight oats, which my wife didn't care for, so it was on the house. It's a matter of taste, she likes them cooked

With my daughter going to college in Portland, my wife and I have been flying up from Vegas to spend Thanksgiving with her the last couple years. We had a great dinner last year at Meriwether's but they weren't serving Thanksgiving this year due to a huge remodel - so we picked the Original Dinerant.
If you've looked through their reviews, all the negative comments seemed to stem from the poor customer service. Everyone from the hostesses to the servers - even a manager - seemed to be getting slammed so I was a bit apprehensive when I stepped through the door.
We showed up about 10 minutes early for a 6:45 reservation but the hostess cheerily greeted us and said that our table was ready. Once seated, water and drink orders were taken immediately and we were provided with the Thanksgiving menu. The young man who served us was also pleasant and checked on us multiple times throughout dinner.
The food was good and it ended up being a great Thanksgiving dinner. I'm looking forward to our visits next spring so we can try their regular menu items!
