Outstanding Sunday Brunch! Shaved Prime Rib Benedict was perfect, Mushroom & Ham Omelet was nice and moist, Traditional Breakfast was enjoyed with a shrimp side salad! Mimosa drinks were worth a second and the complimentary birthday Mud Pie (w/ candle) was so inviting I couldn't wait & took a couple bites before the photo! Although rainy weather, the view over the Willamette River is still good and even caught the rising moon through the clouds. The service was excellent as always and all the staff we interacted with were polite, helpful & very friendly! A truly great place for any celebration.

I have been to the Chart House twice now, and it is one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in Portland. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is luxurious. This restaurant is perfect for fancy lunches and classy dinner. It has an amazing view of the Willamette River and Mt Hood during the day and city lights at night. I recommend the Cucumber-Honey drink.

First time coming here, had heard the stories and experiences and they are all true. This place is amazing! Definitely worth the price! Food was incredible service was even better. They accommodated my allergies and sensitivities with precision and care. I had the salmon which was so buttery and moist. 20/10 would recommend. The view was stunning. We got there around sunset so we got a great view of the day and night. If you want something special this is the place.

Top notch! Absolutely the best service by far! They treat you like royalty starting at valet. Our server was fantastic. I’m not sure if they are all as great as him but I felt like we hit gold. The food was melt in your mouth delicious. (Don’t know what happened to the plate pics) The view is pretty gorgeous despite the gloomy clouds. Would absolutely recommend the Chart House!

I cannot say enough good things about our visit last night. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary here for dinner. We got a bottle of champagne that our server, Jessica, put in a cute bucket to keep chilled for us. The food was absolutely amazing! We got the coconut shrimp (amazing sauces came with it), watermelon feta salad, lobster bisque (amazing!!!), shrimp and scallops, shrimp carbonara, and the chart house mud pie dessert! My husband also got a delicious mule drink. The dessert was my absolute favorite! Freshly baked to order which was very unique. The view was incredible and service amazing! Out waitress, Jessica, did everything to make the night special for us - including a complementary dessert for the occasion. A manager even came out to wish us congratulations on our anniversary and to make sure we enjoyed our evening. We will be back for another special occasion!

I enjoyed the scenery. You literally can see both mountains from the window. Very high end restaurant. Not many options for chicken though but I was able to replace their pasta meat with chicken. Same with vegetarian but of course they can accomplish that type of dish by getting rid of the meat portion from their item menu you want to order. The sauce they put on their crispy calamari dish was delicious. Bring a jacket (the place was really cold when it was hot outside). I enjoyed my dinner with their delicious 3 course chart. Thanks.

We sat in the bar area, which still had a lovely view from our table. Drinks and dinner were wonderful. I was thrilled they did "smoked whiskey" tableside, and my prime rib was cooked perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of gluten free choices available, as that was a food issue for a member in our party. It's been years since I've dined at The Chart House. The service and quality of food has remained excellent. I will be returning soon for more deliciousness!

Fantastic view and view. HINT arrive before dusk and watch the city turn dark and glitter while you are eating. Food is fantastic and the Kimchi Calamari is wonderful. Kimchi is not overpowering and is just cooked into the soy glaze. Steaks cooked perfectly.

I have zero complaints! It was a fantastic meal and view and service! My salmon was possibly the best I have ever eaten! Perfectly cooked and seasoned- my wife even liked it and she don’t normally like salmon. I would definitely eat here again!

The Chart House in Portland, Oregon is amazing. I had the rib-eye steak and asparagus. My dinner was cooked to perfection. Our view was incredible and our waiter was a pure delight. I will be back! ♡

My husband and I had a dinner date for my birthday. We had an awesome time. We had great views and a complementary piece of cake with a lit candle. J.P our waiter and my hubby sang me happy birthday but best of all, our menu was personalized with a birthday shot out that we got to take home with us. We will be back again. Staff was really nice and food was great!!!!

Our favorite restaurant in Portland. Best view best service and absolutely best food!!!!! We love it!!!!

Our server was not pleasant. The sides I ordered came to the table significantly after the main dish. I would have liked to have my mushrooms with my steak, but that was not to be. He called me sir three times after having been corrected the first time. His shortcomings throughout our visit was reflected in his tip.
Drinks were good. Atmosphere was great. View was great.

Service is excellent and the view is spectacular. Clam chowder was good stuffed prawns were magnificent! We’ll be back!!

Thanksgiving dinner last night was amazing! The lobster bisque was divine! The ricotta gnocchi was fantastic! And the smoked bone marrow was wonderful. Half of us had the Thanksgiving turkey dinner, half of us had the New York strip. ALL of us were convinced we picked the right thing. Then it was time for dessert. The pecan pie was great and the Lava Cake was over the top. Our server, Chris, was warm, welcoming, attentive, knowledgable, and had a ready sense of humor - important when dealing with our pack of hams and punsters. It was a very special family event. Thank you so much to all the chefs, servers, hosts, and bussers who worked so hard on a holiday to make it a joyful, relaxed event for my family and all the other families they took care of yesterday. You goys ALL rock!

Of course the view!
Have been going here for decades.
Was always my choice for my birthday when my mom was alive. Just great.
I would have given it a 5, but they got rid of their amazing great plum sauce with their coconut shrimp dish.
It was perfect! Was

On a visit from the UK. The ambiance and views were extraordinary.
The Coconut Shrimp was decadent.
I recommend this resturant for fine dining.

My wife and I have been visiting here since 1987. I'm sure its all been said before but its simply a place that you can count on to always have great food and great service. Over the years we have tried a number of different dishes but fillet mignon and lobster are the most popular with us. Their chopped salad is excellent. Soups are rich and decadent. The view is a bonus and as I mentioned the service is always friendly, professional and attentive. 30 years later we now bring our kids and extended family with us and they love it too.

We were there for Portland Dining Month. Incredible food, service and view! We will be back.

Food and service were great. This review gets a 1 star due to the fact that valet broke our tail light and will not replace. We have emailed, called, left voicemails and contacted them on social media. The tail light is over $400 that was broken by their mandatory valet parking. Corporate has done nothing and does not seem to care at all. This was a family night with a tab over $3k. Will not be spending another dime at any of Landry's restaurants.

Long time patron of the Chart House brand. Known for their scenic real estate across the country. Portland's location has one of the best views of the Rose City. Don't leave without their famous chocolate molten cake.

Chart house will always be a Portland favorite. It's a classy spot, excellent happy hour, good service, complimentary valet, and most importantly the most amazing view of Portland! Jaime Ruisi
Mothra
Mothra Says..... Unique and Consistant. After calling a realtor friend of mine, Scott T, I mentioned that it had been too long since we met and chatted about business, wine, food, travel, and everything under the sun.

We met on a recent rainy Thursday late afternoon for HH at the Chart House. This was my first trip to Portland’s Chart House and we bellied up to the bar. Ben the bartender asked for our order and in no time Scott’s Widmer Hefe and my usual arrived. Not only is the atmosphere conducive for business, but the view is: Spec tac u lar. It really is something.

I have been to the Chart House on Hwy 1 on the Pacific just south of San Francisco about a dozen times and the view there is equally striking. About 45 minutes later, we ordered a fried calamari which was quite good and wrapped up our evening.

Good food, good customer service in Ben, great atmosphere, and great company. I’ll be back. Mothra says, next time for a meal. 3.50 of 5.0

Went to the chart house for Sunday brunch. Nice restaurant, great view sub part food. I've honestly had hotter better food a Dennies. Cold gravy on my biscuits, my wife's poached eggs were cold, they served a supposedly home made cinnamon roll that was microwaved until it was chewy. Lethargic wait staff that was slow to refill coffies or other beverages. It was just not the experience one would expect when paying around 20 dollars per plate for a breakfast.

Wonderful Christmas Day Meal. The weather cooperated so the phenomenal view complimented the wonderful meal we enjoyed at the Chart House. Great service, over size portions, nice quality food. Definitely will bring business diners here for a nice meal.

Sad food. I was really let down last night when I had about the worst oyster ever and then I was charged extra for them (wrong menu item charged on the bill. The chopped salad was limp and bland. Waitress didn't seem to care either which is why I decided to give feedback. Drinks were great.

Fantastic dinner on Christmas Day!

Great Summer Dinner. My husband and I are new to Portland, and went to the Chart House for dinner. We had been t a Chart House in different states in the past.. Our food and service was exceptional. The waitress was attentive, helpful and warm. The manager checked in on us several times, and we asked about an upcoming Birthday for our friends, and found her very engaging and helpful. The food was excellent, Filet Mignon, Ahi Tuna, Cream Spinach and a Shrimp/Cheese appetizer. Our view of the river and Mt Hood made for a perfect summer evening dinner.

PS My husband still misses the Squaw Bread that Chart House used to provide.

ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE!! SHAME ON YOU CHART HOUSE!! I will never go back. We thought it would be fun to participate in the Portland Dining Month with my in-laws for Fathers' Day. They chose to try the Chart House. We got LUKEWARM SERVICE UNTIL we told them we wanted to try their Portland Dining Month Menu, then we got HOSTILE SERVICE. Our SALADS WERE SOGGY, BROWN AND WARM. Obviously they were pre-made at least an hour before. BUT THAT'S NOT THE WORST OF IT, we hadn't even finished eating the salads when they brought out our food. Since our table was too small to support both the Salad and Entree, we were faced with two options: HURRY UP AND FINISH our salads (While they "patiently" waited behind us), or CONCEDE AND GIVE UP our half eaten salads to make room for our "QUICKLY GETTING COLD FOOD!" The only time we got any animation out of our waiter, was when he was trying to sell us their frequent diner program.... Need I say more?

Beautiful View & Great Food. We wanted fresh sea food for dinner and this was the right place to find it. Our meal began with the calamari appetizer and my husband had the lobster bisque too. The calamari was done beautifully and the lobster bisque disappeared quickly. My husband had the mixed seafood grill which he polished off and had a bit of room to help me finish my dish. My dish was parmesan encrusted halibut on angel hair pasta. I would definitely recommend it! Of note, our waiter was great. He helped us with choices, brushed off the crumbs between courses and was a very pleasant individual with which to speak. Ask for him by name - Sundiata

Subtract the Waiter and you've got perfection. Went to this restaurant this evening. I had driven by and was unfamiliar. I could see there was a nice view, so I showed up the next day. We arrived at 450pm and they asked for our reservation. We didn't have one (my six year old and I), they told us it would be a bit of a wait because they had a full house. I asked about how long and they said about 15 min after 5 when they open (which isn't a long wait). They seated us shortly after opening as they were able to find us a table, we were pleasantly surprised. The view is gorgeous, overlooking the river allowing you to see most of Portland, if it wasn't cloudy I'm sure Mt. Hood would have been a bute! We ordered our food rather quickly. the menu was very pricey, which I was unaware prior to sitting down (in the 30-40 range). I figured we'd simply make the most of it. We ordered the ceasar salad, the clam chowder and the sea bass. They brought out the clam chowder and the ceasar salad first. We enjoyed both items. The ceasar was a little spicy but no spicier than a normal ceasar, so this was my mistake as my daughter won't do spice of any varying degree. The clam chowder wasn't like most clam chowders that are mostly soup. This was PACKED full of clams, every spoon full, nice change. We finished our salad and set it to the side and waited. We waited 25 minutes before the server even addressed the fact that we were ready for our meal. Finally I asked her about our meal. She said "oh, are you in a hurry? Sorry, we like to give people time to eat and I didn't realize you were in a hurry, I'll go back and ask them to rush it for you." in a condesening way. This is AFTER she told us 10 minutes prior that the meal was on its way. At this point we were an hour into the meal, so I'm not sure where she got that I was in a hurry, I just wanted appropriate service. She was busy with the table next to us. There were 3 older couples who obviously had money so she was spending all her time with them and barely acknowledged we were there. Hope she made her tip with them, because I gave her half of what I normally would have (which would have been over 20%). Anyways, we received the bass over spinach and it was great. Very flavorful and worth the $30 I spent. While we were there, the head chef came out and brought some water over dry ice so she could see the smoke coming from it, it was nice of him and cool for her. We didn't order desert as was originally planned, nor did I get any wine, as I was planning, due to the fact that I just wanted out of there based on the servers attitude. Otherwise, the place was great. Obviously, it's not meant for every meal, based on pricing, but the food and view were worth every dime.

Like a Sizzler without a.... Like a Sizzler but with a view. Nestled atop one of Portland's highest vistas; pray for a mudslide. Horrible on all counts.
Lynne
Um....... Good place, Awesome view but on the pricey side.
Nice place to go on a date
Talk.Eat.Drink.Portland.
Food items were available for 4, 5, or 6 dollars. They had three options at each level and plenty of them were meat-free (making me happy). Drink prices also range from four dollars (for well drinks and select beer) to six (for signature cocktails) with wine and a few mixed drinks in the middle at five dollars each.
