I love Belgian mussels and this place has got to be one of the best mussels I’ve ever had! Dare I say almost better than Belgium? It was my first night in Portland and this place was a beacon for a weary, hungry traveler. The beer and alcohol menu are also off the charts! When I come back this will be the first place I hit up!

Love this place! Oysters and champagne... need I say more??? Everything I've had here has been excellent. I recently celebrated my birthday here and the staff was so accommodating and helpful. I had informed them that one of my guests was vegan and that I was gluten free. The chef prepared a special vegan entree and a vegan and gluten free dessert. I so appreciated their willingness to accommodate our dietary needs. Everything was delicious. This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Portland and look forward to many more visits in the future.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night. Had the happy hour mussels -- a perfect size. My wife and I chose one of each of the two types. The white wine moules reminded me of my time in Brussels eating mussels earlier this year, but the marinara sauce was my favorite. Very mediterranean with olives and basil leaves. Both dishes were delicious and the fries were amazing. Had a few oyster shooters to complement the mussels and they were tasty, too. I wasn't sure if I could make a table reservation and still order off the happy hour menu, so I messaged the owner via Yelp early on Saturday morning. She responded within minutes; awesome response. Really enjoyed this hidden gem. I recommend highly and will go back again.

I love La Moule. It's everything I like in a restaurant. Unpretentious, great service and wonderful food. My 8 year old son loves mussels and we had a wonderful time here this evening. Our server was outstanding and the happy hour is an amazing deal. At $1 an oyster, I ate a dozen by myself. And the bubbly by the glass was tasty and freshly opened. Not the old flat stuff some places serve. Happy hour's great but it's also my go-to celebration restaurant.

One of my favorite places to eat in Portland. Everything is always amazing. I really love the steak tartare appetizer. All of the mussels are so good. The atmosphere is great. Try to leave room for dessert because all of that is really good too.

Thank you La Moule for taking such good care of me couple nights ago. There was a tiny hi-cup with my dinner and you guys took care of the meal. The food is delicious and the service is superb, we will be back for sure.

Last night, my partner and I decided to try La Moule restaurant that everyone has been raving about, and we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely incredible, and we couldn't stop raving about it. To start, we ordered a dozen oysters, which were served fresh and delicious. They were perfectly shucked and tasted like they had just been plucked from the ocean. For our main courses, my partner ordered the bone marrow, which was the best we've ever tasted. It was so rich and flavorful that we wished we had ordered more. I, on the other hand, decided to try the burger, and it was the best decision I made that night. The meat was cooked perfectly and topped with delicious, melted cheese. The service was also excellent, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. They helped us choose a bottle of wine that perfectly complemented our meal. Overall, we had an amazing experience and we can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious dishes. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Mostly an after hours bistro menu. Dim lighting and very good service. Oysters varied in size, but tasted great. 9.2 stars for the oysters. nice dry house white wine. Plate of shoestring fries was good portion for two people. Overall I want to come back and try everything. The little I had makes me desire to try more. Going back soon.

This IS the cutest spot in Portland, the lighting is just right. Defs has bigger city vibes. Service was impeccable - attentive, professional but also casual and approachable. Food was amazing and cocktails and wine were as well. The gnocchi was exceptional!

Swoon! The food, cocktails, decor. All of it adds up to an experience I look forward to. Moules are a must. Chicken liver pate is my other favorite. Plus whatever seasonal salads and veg they are serving.

Came here for the happy hour and stayed for tapas, cocktails, and dessert. The happy hour menu alone is worth it (fresh crispy baguettes, tasty oysters, bold pâté... yum). The food tastes so fresh! The cocktails are exceptionally well made. And really pleasant service. Highly recommend.

I think the mussels were from Canada but not 100 percent sure. Biggest mussels I have ever had and so tasty too. Wonderful, creative cocktails. Yumm

Great meal, wonderful setting. Kuddos to the staff and kitchen who were dealing with busy night and kept the quality at a high level. We will certainly come back to try the other dishes. The little dirty martini is the way to go. Great music as well

Well, this may have been the greatest meal I have had all year! We had an amazing mushroom pasta... the mushrooms were hand picked from the wild! We had excellent drinks (I had a tasty variation on an old fashion). We had the mussels!!!!!!!! They were freaking delicious. If you are thinking about stopping by. You should right now and get some food in the face!

We have been coming here for years and always loved it, but last nights meal was one of the best meals I’ve had at any restaurant in years. The cocktail menu, Frites, pâté, asparagus, butter lettuce salad, moules, monkfish, all produced delight. The delicious vegetarian gnocchi was not just an afterthought menu item either (you know, make something with mushrooms and call it done). It was the perfect place to show off Portland on my family’s last night in town. The outside seating is covered and heated. A little touch of France from beginning to end.

This place was amazing! We had the Smoked Lamb Shank, the Marinière & Puttanesca Moules, and the Flat Iron Steak Frites--All were flavorful and herbal. My favorite was the Smoked Lamb, followed by the Marinière Moule. The staff was friendly, inviting, and fast. I loved the establishment's wall decor. I will definitely return here the next time I visit Portland.

Great restaurant! Had a very delicious 3 course meal here with my girlfriend. Staff is really on it here, over the top service! My drink was also good and was able to wait in the bar that's in the back.

Started with Speakeasy Blues cocktail. Fries, mussels, pork chop, burger…. Would 10/10 recommend everything. So delish. A special occasion type place for us.

Wonderful neighborhood French bistro-style restaurant. Bustling atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, and great decor. Just 2 nitpicks: I wasn't 100% crazy about the steak frites (the parsley butter overwhelmed) and the wine list is very Italian-heavy for some reason (the house wine is a Sangiovese??) with not a cotes du rhone or rhone blend in sight. Aside from that, otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

The food was terrific. We had the Portland dining month special. The salad got our appetites going and the mussels were delicious. A pet peeve of mine is seeing a later table get served before we do, especially when we ordered the same thing, less the wine. That plus the noise level (I didn't even notice my music was still playing on my smartphone) dented this experience.

Delicious, unpretentious air, and great bar. What isn't to enjoy? Definitely recommend for dates, dinner with friends, or special treats - although truthfully, I'd recommend it for anytime after the experience tonight. Special appreciation for the bar who did a fabulous mock cocktail so one of us didn't feel left out.
