My family has been going to this restaurant for over 70 years. This last visit my husband, daughter, and I had dinner there. I had sautéed shrimp in some tasty sauce and a fresh green salad. My daughter had fried cod and pronounced it "good," but she raved over the coleslaw. My husband had a cup of oyster stew, which He enjoyed, ((but my one taste indicated a need for more richness--perhaps butter or some cream added) and a huge platter of cioppino with several kinds of seafood, which he called excellent. We had no complaints on the service. It was friendly and prompt.

Haven’t visited this historic restaurant in years. It still has that unique ambiance that makes Dan & Louis so special. Had one of the best Cioppino’s I’ve ever had the pleasure to consume. And the Oyster Stew... OMG. I don’t think I’ll wait another 20 years to come back. Great spot!

Loved this place! The service was AMAZING and the food was fabulous. I loved the indoor/outdoor space with the opening to the street. It was fun listening to the street performers, especially the band The Urban Shaman who played the didgeridoo along with guitar and singing. Very hip. I loved the location and it is steps away from Voodoo Doughnuts if you are so inclined.

Came here while looking for a nice seafood restaurant during my visit to Portland. It was a late Saturday evening, so it wasn't crowded. Grabbed a small table outside since the weather was nice. Derrick was working this area and he did a great job. He was extremely helpful in making some suggestions, but very fast and attentive throughout the meal. Started off with a cocktail, local cider, clam chowder, and smoked salmon chowder. Both chowders were great and full of fresh clams and salmon, but I slightly preferred the salmon chowder since it was a little more unique. For the meal, ordered half dozen of oysters on the half shell, traditional fry, and the fried seafood. I usually avoid fried seafood, but so glad I ordered this one. We ordered the Captains Plate as it includes clam, cod, prawns, and calamari. Cod and prawns were amazing. So good that we ordered a separate order of the prawns. This is definitely on my list for a return visit on my next trip. Great service and seafood.

Wandered in on a whim (I'm always looking for fresh shucked oysters) & I was not disappointed here! Monday is happy hour for oysters ALL DAY. Which is brilliant! The oysters I had were delicious, the presentation was beautiful, my server, Michelle, was wonderful! I can't wait to come back when I am in Portland again ~ YUM! Thank you guys for being there, open & so hospitable! Happy hour meant I got to have 2 dozen oysters & it was worth every penny!

I defy you to find anywhere else where you can get oysters on the half shell at $2 per. That's their happy hour, which they extend to *all day* on Mondays. Would you believe me if I told you that they're actually some of the better oysters I've had? Pair that with $4 draft pints. And the smoked salmon chowder was so good it was impossible not to down. Absolutely stellar deals, exceeded only by the quality and taste of their food. *Highly* recommended.

This was an Amazing place! Food was delicious. My wife and I shared a cup of clam chowder and was yummy. We also ventured and tried oysters for the first time in picture #1 “Rockafeller Oysters”. SUPER GOOD! We also shared the delicious fish tacos entrée picture #2. Last but not least they fisherman platter, that had fried clams, cod, shrimp, oysters, and calamari with fries and coleslaw picture #3. I would definitely eat here again when in old downtown Portland.

Everything is amazing here. We’re visiting Portland and found this place next door to voo doo doughnuts. I can’t tell you how thankful I am we had lunch here. I’m pretty picky about eating oysters (only like cooked) and they have them cooked. Not only that, but they are freakin amazing. Soooo good! I also got the smoked salmon plate. The smoke flavor was so prevalent and just ticked my tongue. If your near here. Do not think of passing it up.

We saw this place when we walked past to go to the Saturday market and knew we had to try it out. Mondays are all day happy hour pricing for oysters on the half shell. Succulent and briny. Loved the oysters. Came here during happy hour and had the Calamari Fry, Fish Fry, Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters Rockefeller, Clam Chowder, and 2 beers. Food was amazing and happy hour is when you should come if you want to try a little of everything. Holly was amazing and so sweet.

Been here several times when I come to Portland. The oysters are amazing they’re from Oregon farm the day before you put them in your mouth. Totally fresh oyster, love these flavors here. I also had the muscles in the garlic butter sauce I wanted to snort it with a straw. I ate that whole piece of bread with it. Great great service, the bartenders awesome great personality. Love the atmosphere and the history of this location. Would I go here again, absolutely!

When you step into the restaurant, the interior and the many photographs create a retro and warm atmosphere, as if it were a family-run restaurant established 120 years ago. We were shown to a bright window seat in the spacious restaurant. We had the Oyster Stew, Gumbo and Shrimp Poboy. The Oyster Stew was a light and refreshing stew with plump oysters, while the Gumbo was filled with large pieces of seafood and the Poboy was very filling and delicious.🤤 The staff were all cheerful and pleasant. The atmosphere changes from area to area, so it's a great restaurant to enjoy different seating options.😊✨

Had the best time! Had 2 Spanish coffees to help us for the night. 1 great raw oysters plate( 3 oysters each) that were left on the list that were available today. They were all delicious. We also did the Fried Oysters with Parmesan and had 2 orders. Then clam chowder..good but a bit heavy on the cream IMO. Then, I had the baked fish special which was Wild CoHo Salmon with grilled zucchini and brown rice with grilled lemon half that was an amazing addition to the meal. My friend had the Fried Smoked Salmon. Which I can say from my bite was amazing. Definitely a dish to go back to again.
